In this astrology podcast, we start at the beautiful Full Moon on the Solstice, trip lightly over an eclipse, and come to a stop just before the next one. Sally and I wend our way through the month’s astrology — and how it could work for each of the Sun signs. Merry Christmas to all!

Intelligent, emotional and true — Nancy Wilson called herself a “song stylist”. She managed to mix irony and compassion in her interpretations seemingly effortlessly. She died today at the ripe age of 81. Listen to her caught-you-red-handed song, Guess Who I Saw Today, for an example of her ability to spin a yarn, her remarkable technique and perfect timing. Wilson was born with Venus Rising in Aries, and along with being a straightforwardly beautiful woman, this could explain the immediacy of her singing, and its pin-point precision. There’s a lot of water in this chart — Sun and Moon, plus […]

It’s that time of year again, and I have had a shufti around the internet and found some astrowonders to stiffen even the floppiest stocking. Every year one or other couture house goes astrowild — and this year it’s Givenchy, under the direction of Claire Waight Keller. The jewellery line is truly gorgeous — although you need a pretty long neck to get away with the earrings — and fat wallet, too. Someone would like you a lot if they received one of these little trifles in a stocking. There […]

As some of you may know, I’ve spent a lot of time in rural France this year. Since my mother died, I’ve been over every month to deal with my father’s affairs. In this role, I’ve had a lot of conversations with workers and professionals in one little corner of the country. Here are some reasons why a lot of French people in the regions feel embattled. Essentially, the tax system penalises you for being self-employed or running a small business. This latter forces people to keep their businesses as one-person enterprises, even when that means working an 80 or […]

Although he was born on December 7, 1988, Benjamin Clementine sounds like he’s lived for a thousand years. Wow. Here is his chart. Sadly no birth time. But I think you can hear that Sagittarian freedom and wildness in the way he unleashes his voice. And the generation with Neptune in Capricorn is really able to plumb musical soul-depths. His lyric writing also bursts out of bounds. I suppose “genius” is quite a Sagittarian word. Clementine is certainly someone who breaks mental boundaries — another Sagittarian speciality It’s been noted by astrologer John Etherington that around 15° Sagittarius-Gemini crops up […]

If you have written to me in the last few months and have heard nothing in response, I apologise. Yesterday, I found that, for reasons too boring to explain, one of my email addresses has not been functioning for months! I am so sorry and I am endeavouring to respond to each of you this week. Now this is, of course, not brilliant, but on the other hand, thank you Mercury Retrograde, because it might have gone on even longer. When little Mercury is retrograde, he is excellent at finding lost things. And in my case, he had just slipped […]
