  • Venus in Gemini inconjunct the Capricorn South Node (17 deg)

  • Venus in Gemini inconjunct Saturn Rx in Capricorn (18 deg)

  • Venus in Gemini opposite Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius (17 deg)

  • Uranus in Taurus conjunct Vesta (5 deg)

  • Uranus and Vesta sextile Black Moon Lilith in Pisces ( 5 deg)

Venus

Venus/Jupiter can exaggerate what you want – there may appear to be more choices regarding a financial, relationship or value issue. And they will be exuberant and tempting. But some of those choices will be unwise, as Jupiter retrograde asks you to review before you say “yes.” And Venus’ inconjuncts to the South Node and Saturn Rx insist that a rule/limit from the past will narrow your choices. So really, you may only have one, viable option. The brakes will be applied and that issue from the past will not be ignored.

Uranus

Uranus/Vesta adds urgency to an area of focus. Vesta is the ultimate focus/sacred flame, and Uranus suggests a sudden shot of devotion; an all-or-nothing, extreme jolt that clarifies what has the most value (Taurus). This will include old values/resources/habits being blown away.

The sextile to BML suggests this will involve some taboo, possibly magical/transcendent expressions of female energy. One of Lilith’s manifestations is the witch, and this is emphasized in Pisces, the sign that lies beyond reality. Here we have a wake-up call about what/who is essential, even if she’s “forbidden.”

Vesta is purity and BML is dark, raw sexuality (the prostitute, the other woman, the woman who belongs to no one). When they harmonize, what’s socially forbidden becomes a path to personal enlightenment and discipline (Vesta is untouchable in her own way – she also belongs to no one but herself).

Add Uranus’s liberation, and you have a whole new set of values and security at your fingertips.

Summary

So, if we consider Uranus/Vesta/BML and the aspects to Venus (also female energy and the ruler of Taurus) a picture emerges- you’re questioning what sounds/looks good regarding love and values. Is it hollow? At the same time, there’s one, undeniable choice. You’re not stuck in the past, but you are paying attention to what came before so you don’t make the same mistakes. Or maybe there’s an ongoing responsibility/tradition that still has value.

Either way, Uranus/Vesta in Taurus insists that part of this is about devoting yourself to a new goddess – a new expression of female energy/values (whether you’re a man or woman) who cracks the Saturn whip.

Juno’s Transit of Leo

  • Transiting Juno enters Leo

Partnership agreements are expressed through the sign of pride, recognition, creativity and joy. This transit urges you to look at all your contracts and agreements (romantic and otherwise) to see if they make you proud.

Questions to ask yourself during this transit:

  • Do you feel free to express your true self in your relationship?

  • Does your partner encourage your talents or sense of playfulness?

  • Are you proud to tell others “This is my partner”?

As the “marriage asteroid” Juno is associated with fidelity, especially in the face of challenges (Juno remained faithful to Jupiter no matter how many mortals he fooled around with). But Leo is sometimes associated with affairs – despite its fixed nature, its childlike qualities and craving for constant attention and risk (this is also the sign of gambling) means certain partnerships may be confronted with challenges to fidelity. This is more likely to happen if one or both partners are bored, immature or unappreciated.

In general, this transit encourages the exploration of playfulness and pride in relationships. New agreements that manifest may be about who gets the spotlight.

Juno exits Leo for Virgo on August 23rd.

June 17th, 2019: Vesta Inconjunct Ceres Rx

  • Vesta in Taurus inconjunct Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (3 deg)

Vesta’s focus on gradual growth clashes with Ceres in Sag’s adventurous growth. Ceres in Sag wants to bloom into a new area while Vesta in Taurus concentrates on what’s familiar.

Ceres is Rx, so you’re returning to this issue (which may involve travel, education, exploration, faith or religion). As you return, you run into something that’s fixed and cautious – resources, security or habits that pull you away from that area of exploration.

Ceres is about mother’s nurturing and cycles of loss and rebirth (in expansive Sag). Taurus is about fertility and stability (Vesta makes this a sacred issue). While these two issues may be at odds, the inconjunct asks that you find a way to make them both work. Ground yourself in what’s sacred as you re-examine what Ceres in Sag has to offer. Consider the common thread between Taurus and Ceres – what two areas of your life involve fertility in a literal or metaphorical sense?

June 12th, 2019: The Natural Choice

  • Waxing Trine between the Libra Moon and Gemini Sun (21 deg)

  • Venus in Gemini opposite Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (4 deg)

  • Venus in Gemini square Black Moon Lilith in Pisces (4 deg)

  • Mars in Cancer conjunct the North Node (17 deg)

The Waxing Trine allows you to blend relationship prompts with choices and new information. Excellent for socializing, sharing with others and making the natural choice regarding social interactions. The exchange of information should move effortlessly and in a balanced way.

The Mars/North Node conjunction adds to the encouragement, as actions based on needs and emotions carry you forward. Stepping away from the past and into an area that’s satisfying and speaks to you on a gut level is emphasized – do not be afraid to do what feels right even if you can’t articulate it.

However, continuing the story from yesterday’s Ceres/BML square, we see Venus in Gemini opposing Ceres and squaring Lilith. Different facets of female energy are at odds – the mother (Ceres) the taboo woman (BML) and the more familiar/typical expression of femininity (Venus). Choices about relationships and/or expressing your female identity are in flux. None of the choices will be easy, as they oppose an area of nurturing and trigger a crisis around undermining or “unacceptable” female sexual energy. Maybe two women or two sides yourself will be involved (Gemini means duality).

And yet, the choices must be (carefully) explored and the options weighed. Venus rules the Libra Moon, so the Waxing Trine can help with this. Choose what comes naturally and go in the direction that seems to be unfolding most easily. You won’t be able to make everyone happy, but that’s not what this is about.

At the same time, keep in mind that Mars over the North Node means you are moving forward. You’re doing it differently this time. Break those old habits.

June 11th, 2019: Ceres Challenges Lilith

Edward Frederick Brewtnall

  • Ceres Rx in Sagittarius square Black Moon Lilith in Pisces (4 deg)

Ceres is the Great Mother (nurturing) and BML is the dangerous lady/witch/other woman/outcast. When the two form a square, there can be tension between nurturing in an expansive (Sagittarius) way versus sliding (Pisces) around the ideals of nurturing with “taboo” expressions of female sexuality or the exploration of a dream/fantasy that releases you from nurturing.

Lilith is not a typical mother. In her myth, she gave birth to demon children so she sometimes symbolizes a thwarted desire to have children, or the complete rejection of motherhood. She is often associated with abortion and miscarriage. So in today’s aspect, we have Ceres Rx in Sag as the fiery, hopeful area of growth (Rx means you’re revisiting this issue) and BML in Pisces as the cold undercurrent that releases you.

These tensions can play out in various ways, and the crisis of the square (plus Ceres’ Rx status) draws your attention to this. Is there a nurturing/mothering ideal that needs to be released or circumvented? Is your immersion in a fantasy/dangerous attraction undermining an area of growth? Are you escaping or avoiding?

  • Sun in Gemini square Neptune in Pisces (18 deg)

  • Vesta enters Taurus

Sun/Neptune can blur your focus and scatter your sense of purpose. Choices can multiply beyond what is reasonable, and some or all of what you have to choose from may be an illusion. You could be undermined by what’s happening or you could get caught up in a lie or meaningless distraction.

The best way to handle this influence is to accept that much of what you see and hear will probably be false or completely divorced from reality. If you’re struggling with focus, purpose and ego, today might be a good day to rest and just allow the various options to drift in front of you. Wait to see what sticks and what dissolves.

What can counteract the above is Vesta’s move into grounded Taurus. Vesta is supreme focus and sacred energy. In Taurus, that focus is trained on what’s real and valuable – what you can touch, what works, what’s secure. While Vesta’s obsessive focus can become blinkered in this stubborn sign, for today it’s a nice way to balance out any confusion from Sun/Neptune. If you’re getting lost, pay attention to an area that involves earned money, self-esteem, resources, physical issues or fertility/growth. What’s happening there? What’s non-negotiable and absolutely sacred? That’s your bottom line.

Vesta will have an extended run in Taurus, stationing Rx on Sept 23rd at 27 deg and direct on Dec 29th at 12 deg. 12 to 27 deg Taurus in your chart will be quadrupled underlined – your attention will be driven there, again and again.

She will exit Taurus for Gemini on Mar 21st, 2020.
