October 25th, 2019: Some Of What You Want

  • Venus in Scorpio sextile Pluto in Capricorn (20°)

  • Jupiter in Sagittarius conjunct Ceres (22°)

Venus in Pluto-ruled Scorpio, in harmonious aspect to Pluto, is given an extra boost of quiet power. Here we have deeply private or subterranean wants, resources or values that are intensified by the breakdown and transformation of structures. This sounds dramatic, and it is! But Scorpio’s hidden nature and the gentle energy of this aspect ensure that events will happen imperceptibly but potently. It doesn’t have to be loud to be effective.

Excellent for confirming that you’re on the right track as you deepen a source of intimacy, self-care or inner exploration.

Jupiter/Ceres indicates expansive nurturing and/or an expansive agreement. Looking at the Ceres myth, this crop goddess’ daughter was taken by the king of the underworld (Pluto) and in retaliation she allowed all the crops to wither and the people to starve. Jupiter stepped in and encouraged her to make a deal with Pluto-her daughter was allowed to be with her, above ground, for part of the year and the crops would grow during this time.

Not everything she wanted, but a crucial part (rebirth) of her cycle and certainly better than nothing. Consider how a real- world version of this deal might be functioning in your life. You probably won’t get everything you want, but a conjunction with Jupiter in the sign he rules is the best possible scenario-the growth of something new, something to look forward to, something that will continue to expand.

We must also consider how the Venus/Pluto aspect factors into this: even with the gentle sextile, there’s an all-or nothing vibe that will have to be toned down due to circumstances (Pluto didn’t get everything he wanted either). Nonetheless, today’s overall vibe is abundance.

In mundane matters, this aspect can indicate increased learning/wisdom concerning mothering, food issues or nurturing. Consider where you might need to make concessions in these matters to encourage new growth.

  • Waning Trine between the Gemini Moon and Libra Sun (25°)

  • Libra Sun inconjunct Vesta RX in Taurus (25°)

The Waning Trine enables dissemination of information in a balanced way. Excellent for all communication matters, especially in a one-on-one capacity. Others will be receptive to what you know and will offer something in return. This is light, sociable energy that’s a bit irreverent: good for chatting with others and making random but pleasant connections.

But there is one, small point of tension- the inconjunct indicates difficulties balancing objective concerns with subjective focus. What’s happening today is not all about you, but you still have to integrate a primary focus on personal security/ finances/preservation. The smooth energy of the trine should dominate, but don’t ignore the small twinge that reminds you to consider your own interests.

October 14th, 2019: Shadow Issues

  • Libra Sun square Pluto in Capricorn (20°)

  • Ceres in Sagittarius square Black Moon Lilith in Pisces (18°)

Continuing the energy of yesterday’s Full Moon, the Sun/Pluto square illuminates the shadow side of relationships. Power, fear of loss or jealousy will be underneath the surface. Scenarios are polite on the outside, but you’re not imagining the undercurrent of tension or intensity.

This aspect can indicate manipulative social situations or a death/crisis that completely changes the balance in a relationship.

Ceres/BML is a crisis between the Great Mother and the Dangerous Woman. As the significator of nurturing, loss and rebirth, Ceres in Sag can mean the expansion of that cycle or hope for life in the future. But BML is a dark current that cuts across Ceres’ forward momentum-the witch/other woman/ sexual disruptor can challenge efforts to nurture or can undermine faith.  There could be a showdown between the mother and the seductress, or a crisis between mothering versus undefined sexuality.

  • Libra Sun sextile Ceres in Sagittarius (17°)

  • Venus in Scorpio inconjunct Chiron RX in Aries (3°)

  • Pluto in Capricorn trine Juno in Virgo (20°)

Venus/Chiron means that the deeper you go regarding what you want or attract, the more vulnerable you’ll be. You may be tempted to keep what’s uncomfortable hidden while dealing with the obvious wound. Or, you may try to lose yourself in the obsession while ignoring the battle.

This aspect can amplify the “ugliness” of taboo issues around love, values or beauty. You may feel unattractive or ashamed because of the intensity. It’s a tough one, because you have to integrate the external wound with the Shadow. The uglier you feel, the more important it is that you come to terms with this. Healing occurs when you confront what’s in the Shadow and find a way to love yourself.

Fortunately, you have a nice Sun (in Venus-ruled Libra)/Ceres aspect that brings balanced, expansive nurturing. This energy encourages you to explore the possibilities and trust that justice, idealism and hope are accessible in relationships.

Also, Pluto (ruler of Scorpio) empowers Juno’s relationship commitments by adding depth to the details of the agreement. The little things between you and another and your mutual efforts to make the partnership better/cleaner/correct can be potently effective.

What does this mean overall? One sticky aspect and two supportive aspects mean that you can handle the uncomfortable stuff.

October 6th, 2019: Turning Point

  • Libra Sun square the Capricorn South Node/Cancer North Node  (13°)

  • Jupiter in Sagittarius square Juno in Virgo (19°)

Today is a day of turning points.

Sun square the Nodes says that you have a choice in a relationship, exchange or issue that involves balance. You can stick with the old rules/ traditions or move forward to something that’s unfamiliar but more emotionally satisfying and nurturing.

This is been an ongoing issue since September 22nd when Mercury in Libra squared the Nodes and September 25th when Venus in Libra did the same. Mercury and Venus highlighted specific issues, but the Sun will act as a general spotlight and reminder that you still need to address an imbalance. The crisis of this difficult choice is your turning point.

Jupiter/Juno tells us more about this. Lofty ideals and expansion will challenge the specifics of a relationship agreement. There may be an urge to race past the tedious details, but that in itself can expose flaws and discontent in the relationship. Perhaps dwelling on the flaws is ruining the partnership’s future.

Juno was Jupiter’s wife in mythology. She remained faithful to him despite his constant philandering. So when this archetypal couple forms a hard aspect, we can also expect issues of freedom versus fidelity plus relationship right versus wrong. In this case, Juno is demanding a detailed account of the present (where are we now) while Jupiter would rather concentrate on the future.

Again, this can describe the turning point in your relationships. What is unacceptable to you- the specifics or the promises/ ideals? Is compromise possible? Whose version of the truth is “correct”?
