April 24th, 2019: Waning Trine, Sacred Words and Intensified Transformation

  • Waning Trine between the Capricorn Moon and Taurus Sun (3 deg)

  • Mercury in Aries conjunct Vesta (9 deg)

  • Pluto stations Rx in Capricorn (23 deg)

Waning Trine

The Waning Trine integrates set routines and the preservation of something (resources, security) with the ambition to make it happen. Rather than just sitting there and clinging to what you have, this energy encourages you to focus on what you want, in the future. There should be a reasonable path to follow that allows you to make it real, and a sense that others support and share your goals.

Note that the Capricorn Moon is also squaring Chiron in Aries, so there will be some bumps along the way as you confront fears and weaknesses. If this happens, stick with what you know is solid and has value.

Mercury/Vesta

Devotion to an area of passion, anger or initiative is doubled as Mercury introduces absolute words- say it and make it so. This is an uncompromising verbal or written jolt that’s given power through devotion- what sacred issue demands that you stand up and speak your mind?

Pluto Rx

Pluto retrograde is like going back over the earth you’ve already tilled bcause some weeds still remain. The process of excavation and transformation is targeted on one area where the weeds/rotten structures refuse to let go.

Ongoing transformations can be delayed. A “death” may be put on hold, but it’s temporary. The process is always thorough. Sometimes you get breathing room, and the best use of this time is to take stock of what’s changed so far. And, prepare yourself for the continuing transformations once Pluto stations direct (on Oct 30th).

Pluto will Rx back to 20 deg Capricorn, so 20 to 23 deg of the Cardinal and Earth signs are in the zone for intensified excavation. if you have anything at 23 deg exactly, you’ll experience a pause as of May 19th (roughly) but the deconstruction will pick up again as of Jan 19th, 2020.

April 19th, 2019: Mercury in Aries Conjunct Chiron

  • Mercury in Aries conjunct Chiron (3 deg)

Words (Mercury) are assertive (Aries) and painful (Chiron). But something needs to be said, even though it will offend. Aries is blunt and truthful but not malicious – this energy is about getting it out there and moving on.

This can also be an opportunity for you to put your pain into words – discuss what makes you feel weak. Maybe your bold statement makes you a scapegoat. Or, maybe others gravitate to the fresh wisdom they sense when you speak.

No matter how this plays out, the goal is healing- say it and be honest about it in order to commence the healing process. The wound won’t disappear (Chiron’s doesn’t work this way) but the goal is to confront and integrate. Own it, admit it and move forward with it.

Mercury’s Transit of Aries: Prickly Words

Mercury enters Aries on April 17th, 2:00 am EDT. Communication and information becomes prickly and raw – the message is delivered without finesse but with pure honesty. In some cases, painful honesty (especially when Mercury conjoins Chiron).

This can be an aggressive transit for those who like things nice and polite. Mercury in Aries doesn’t have time to be polite – information is quick and bold. Excellent if you have something to say but have trouble standing up for yourself. Also good for breaking through writer’s block and connecting with new ideas/plans/diagnoses.

Note that Aries is ruled by Mars and Mars is currently in Mercury-ruled Gemini, creating mutual reception – a connection between transiting Mercury and transiting Mars. This will peak on May 1st when they sextile each other and will also involve Mercury’s square to Saturn and the Nodes . May 1st should be an interesting day (choices, choices, choices but really only one valid choice).

The alignment between words and actions will be crucial – what choice most accurately reflects what you’re doing and saying? Can you follow up your ideas with action? And most importantly – think about what you’re doing.

Here are the aspects Mercury in Aries will make:

  • Apr 19th: conjunct Chiron (3 deg)

  • Apr 24th: conjunct Vesta (9 deg)

  • April 26th: trine Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (13 deg)

  • Apr 27th: opposite Pallas Rx in Libra (14 deg)

  • May 1st: sextile Mars in Gemini (20 deg)

  • May 1st: square the Nodes in Capricorn/Cancer (20 deg)

  • May 1st: square Saturn Rx in Capricorn (20 deg)

  • May 2nd: square Pluto Rx in Capricorn (23 deg)

  • May 2nd: trine Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius (23 deg)

  • May 6th: Taurus ingress

Careless of Where Seeds Are Being Tossed

An analytical Virgo Moon will fuel the beginning of this new week on Monday April 15. We could feel encouraged to work WITH the new upcoming changes… or worry with sleepless nights instead. As the challenging energy grows from the Venus/Jupiter square, mountains might be created from molehills, if we forfeit self-control. Spontaneous ideas will […]

Double Bubble of Trouble | Starcana Cosmic Dirt

Venus enters Pisces. What has recently mattered and supported our personal growth will be shifting as Venus transits from altruistic Aquarius, to join thoughtful Mercury and imaginative Neptune in bubbly Pisces, on Tuesday March 26. During the next four weeks, we could find ourselves attracted to what proves to be sympathetic, forgiving and healing. Through […]

March 15th, 2019: The Way Forward

  • Pisces Sun trine Cancer North Node (24 deg)

  • Mercury Rx in Pisces square Jupiter in Sagittarius (23 deg)

Continuing yesterday’s influence (Mercury Rx trine the North Node) Sun/North Node can be seen as a spotlight that illuminates the way ahead (the North Node is the future). Watch for a sense of vitality that encourages you to keep heading in the direction that feels (Cancer) good/satisfying. You may be a bit more vulnerable (but not to the point where you’re unsafe) and there’s a difference between accessing feelings in a healthy manner versus making yourself a victim. Pisces and Cancer together is about empathy and tuning into what’s behind the hard shell.

Mercury Rx/Jupiter can be the repeat of a promise, big idea or hope from February 22nd. Now you’re questioning the details of the big opportunity and they’re shifting or fading. Remember that a square to Jupiter means exaggeration, so what you hear/learn will not be completely in line with what’s possible. That’s not to say it’s impossible, just that you need to be savvy about this.

Big words need to be analyzed until you get to the truth is (which will be much smaller than what you currently know).

This is the second of three squares, so it’s not over yet. Don’t get discouraged if questions come up – this potential may take a bit longer to realize. In some cases, this could be a second chance at an optimistic vision. Either way, know that the story is still not clear, and that’s ok – it’s not meant to be (yet). Yesterday and today’s aspects to the North Node insist that you’re still moving in the right direction.

Overall, despite the questions, today’s energy hints that something better is coming.

And it is!
