  • Venus in Aquarius sextile Chiron in Aries (0 deg)

Breaking new ground with relationships, self-image, values or money will help you address insecurities. Venus in Aquarius’ liberation from tradition and the opinions of others can give you the courage to deal with Chiron in Aries’ wound – a sore spot that involves being the first or fighting a battle you don’t want to fight.

Chiron in Aries is about the primal right to exist when there’s pressure to shut down. Chiron sextile Venus suggests a gentle blending of the odd and the painful for a new kind of beauty. Perhaps you attract others because of the “thing” that makes you feel unaccepted. Perhaps you find allies who empathize with your fight.

Today is the day to step forward and connect with the other strange souls, or simply stand by yourself and feel good about that.

Venus in Aquarius 2019

Venus moved into Aquarius yesterday. In Aquarius, she takes pleasure in the quirky, the unusual, the non-conventional. If you want to know more about Venus

Venus’ Transit of Aquarius

Venus enters Aquarius on March 1st (11:45 am EST). This is the breath-of-fresh-air transit. Relationships, finances, self-esteem and values are given a shot of detachment, innovation and freedom. What used to matter may not matter quite so much as you’re able to step back and glimpse the bigger picture (Aquarius is the sign of the collective).

It may be time for an update to what you value, how you look or who you associate with.

Venus in Aquarius can emphasize the beauty of what’s unique or it can emphasize feelings of alienation. Much depends on how you deal with Venus-themed issues – do you feel like a misunderstood outcast or are you ready to embrace what’s yours? This isn’t a warm, fuzzy transit (independence is a huge theme) but it can be a relief for those who are ready to enjoy what lies beyond set definitions of beauty, success or popularity.

This transit sparkles for those who aren’t afraid to be themselves. Yes, this is a huge cliché, but it’s true. Whether you loath or enjoy what you see in the mirror, Venus in Aquarius asks you to celebrate who you are and what you have no matter what others think. Stepping away from the values that they assign to you can be tremendously freeing. You find it attractive/desirable/precious and they don’t, but suddenly it doesn’t matter what they think.

At the same time, consider where you feel free to love and be loved the way you want (without judgement or fear). Is there a place like that in your life?

Here are the aspects Venus in Aquarius will make:

  • Mar 2nd: sextile Chiron in Aries (0 deg)

  • Mar 10th: trine Juno in Gemini (11 deg)

  • Mar 11th: sextile Ceres in Sagittarius (11 deg)

  • Mar 21st: square Mars in Taurus (23 deg)

  • Mar 21st: sextile Jupiter in Sagittarius (23 deg)

  • Mar 21st: inconjunct North Node in Cancer (23 deg)

  • Mar 22nd: trine Pallas Rx in Libra (25 deg)

  • Mar 22nd: conjunct Black Moon Lilith (25 deg)

  • Mar 26th: Pisces ingress

March 1st, 2019: Venus in Capricorn Square Uranus

  • Venus in Capricorn square Uranus in Aries (29 deg)

Uranus challenging Venus in the final degrees of their respective signs suggests a crisis that will lead to a significant ending or turn. Venus in Capricorn’s rules about relationships, money and values will be shaken – a commitment could be broken or an impatient burst of freedom could suddenly redefine what you thought you had.

Note that Venus will enter Uranus-ruled Aquarius a few hours after this square, so we can see this crisis as necessary preparation for a move towards independence. This does not mean that everything you’ve built up or defined is worthless, but it does suggest that a radical re- evaluation is necessary. A rule about status, authority or judgement in a Venus-themed issue must be loosened so there’s room for an update.

A square from Uranus can be shocking, and it’s that sensation (the upset, the shock) that’s fuel for change – you have no choice but to look ahead.

February 28th, 2019: Taking Gentle Control

Anders Zorn

Anders Zorn

  • Sun in Pisces square Ceres in Sagittarius (9 deg)

  • Waning Sextile between the Pisces Sun and Capricorn Moon (10 deg)

  • Venus in Capricorn square Pallas Rx in Libra (29 deg)

Waxing Sextile

The Sun/Ceres square can illuminate tension around nurturing as Pisces’ release/vagueness clashes with Ceres in Sag’s enthusiastic (and pushy) expressions of care. As more care is offered the situation may become less certain. Too, a discordant truth (or loss of faith) about mothering or nourishment may be revealed.

The Waxing Sextile can provide some help as maturity and commitment (Capricorn) gives form to what’s vague (Pisces). If you’re trying to care for someone or nurture a project/potential and are frustrated by what’s undefined, this sextile encourages you to take control by gently (this is not about lowering the hammer) steering events. Step in as the compassionate parent and do what needs to be done.

Venus/Pallas

Venus/Pallas suggests some relationship tension as rules about partnerships, money or values clash with social strategies. Pallas is in a Venus-ruled sign, but Libra wants everything to be nice and pretty while Venus in Capricorn is all business. Strategies used to appease or obliquely win a battle will not blend with stricter (and more direct) definitions of what the other person wants.

Consider who’s in control and what has greater value: politeness or authority? Pallas’ Rx status is a hint, because this means strategies are currently under revision.

February 26th, 2019: Venus Conjunct South Node and a Third Quarter Square

Fernand Khnopff

Fernand Khnopff

  • Third Quarter Square between the Sagittarius Moon and Pisces Sun (7 deg)

  • Mercury in Pisces trine the Cancer North Node (25 deg)

  • Venus conjunct the Capricorn South Node (25 deg)

Third Quarter Square

There’s a crisis between external exploration versus internal stillness. Sagittarius can trigger loud statements about truth, justice or belief. Or, there can be a powerful drive to experience more. But Pisces holds some secrets that are impossible to name. There’s something here that defies trumpeting declarations.

The tension between these two energies will raise questions about what’s true and how you gain new understanding. It may be time for silence and waiting – let developments come to you rather than charging forward. This is the waning part of the Moon’s cycle where things slow down and fall away. Is there a belief that needs to be released? If it’s not immediately clear what should happen next, accept that and sit with the questions this raises.

Mercury and Venus

Part of today’s Last Quarter crisis will involve relationship, financial or self-esteem issues as Venus passes over the South Node. Issues from the past will reach a culmination. Definitions and commitments around Venus themes will be key, and the South Node always suggests an ending or wrap up.

Watch for significant results that deliver real value (a reward for your work) or a reality check that shuts the door on the past. In some cases, a past or past life relationship can resurface – watch for heavy feelings of responsibility and a sense that you’ve connected before. Keeping in mind that this is happening during a Last Quarter Square, pay attention to any questions that come up. This could also be a reality check about your values and self-esteem: how are your current rules working for you?

Mercury’s trine to the North Node (and sextiles to Venus/South Node) can help you navigate the above. Mercury in Pisces is intuitive, compassionate communication. Free-flowing words and thoughts rather than hard logic. A conversation or trail of clues should be easy to follow as it leads you towards a place of nurturing, empathy and emotional satisfaction (Cancer North Node). The conversation should flow towards a place that feels right, even if you feel vulnerable. Perhaps you’re trying to progress a financial or relationship issue to the point where you feel (Cancer) safe/secure/nourished/comfortable. Pay attention to how it feels.

Don’t try to control the information – just go with it and see where it leads. If this is a relationship conversation, it should involve affectionate or loving words and a sense of peace, no matter what the conclusion.

However, note that Mercury will aspect the Nodes two more times:

  • Mar 14th: Mercury Rx (24 deg)

  • Apr 9th: Mercury direct (22 deg)

Even if there’s an official conclusion or commitment today, know that the facts (and some truths) will continue to develop into April 9th. And perhaps the sense that the story is not complete is part of today’s crisis – you can’t force the answers.
