Being Human, Sun enters Aquarius

Moving through this week may not be quite as easy as we thought it might be with the challenging Mars/Saturn square on Thursday January 19. While Mars (energy) intends to push us to move and go, go, go… a cautious Saturn (responsibilities, structure) will place a heavy foot on the brakes – to slow us […]

  • Sun in Capricorn sextile Chiron in Pisces, square Jupiter in Libra (22 degrees)
  • Mars in Pisces sextile Pluto in Capricorn (17 degrees)
  • Pallas conjunct the Pisces South Node (4 degrees)

Jupiter enthusiastically bumps up the Sun’s goals and ambitions, urging you to push the limits while maintaining faith that it will work out. Although there is a risk of exaggerated striving for status, Sun/Chiron takes the edge off with a reminder of empathy. Too, Sun/Jupiter’s confidence can push you past a moment of hesitation or weakness. These aspects are part of the January 12th Full Moon in Cancer.

Aspects between Mars and Pluto usually involve brute force. But the gentle sextile, and Pisces’ softening influence, create a very manageable expression of will. Pluto adds strength to efforts which might otherwise be diluted in Pisces. Mars is the easy, conscious expression of Pluto’s unconscious issues. This is a manifestation aspect – ideals (and even fantasies) are given a nudge of possibility.

Pallas over the South Node indicates a pattern, creative strategy or transcendental idea whose time has come. You may be dipping into the past, or the pattern may be revealed to you in a moment where fate and intuition intersect. If it feels right, follow that thread.

Overall, this is an excellent day to go for it, especially if you’ve been hesitating to act on something. It’s not impossible – there’s a higher goal/vision that you now have access to.

January 7th, 2017: Fruition and Sacrifice

  • Sun conjunct Pluto: 17 degrees Capricorn
  • Venus conjunct South Node: 4 degrees Pisces
  • Chiron in Pisces square Juno in Sagittarius: 21 degrees

Sun/Pluto illuminates an essential change to the structure, or an issue of absolute power supported by the structure. If it’s stagnant or outdated, it will crumble. If the time has come to realize full potential, authority and manifestation will be unquestionable. Combined with today’s Venus/South Node conjunction, this could suggest a relationship (business or personal) that has reached a turning point.

Pluto’s association with death and the South Node’s ties to the past could indicate an ending. Or, the moment could be ripe with karmic potential, as what’s been developing comes to fruition. Venus over the Pisces South Node dissolves the past and expands the future. Whether you’re letting go or welcoming something new, a sacrifice may be part of the deal. Venus in Pisces is transpersonal, so it can never be just about you – you may have to give up to get what you want.

Chiron/Juno suggests a painful moment involving commitment and freedom. One partner’s ideals (and desire to explore) may hurt the other. Or, a partnership ideal may disappoint, with resulting bruises. This hints at the sacrifice involved with Venus/South Node.

December 28th, 2016: Mature Confrontations

  • Sun conjunct Mercury Rx in Capricorn: 7 degrees
  • Mercury Rx in Capricorn sextile Mars in Pisces: 7 degrees
  • Saturn in Sagittarius square Chiron in Pisces: 21 degrees

Sun/Mercury Rx can uncover answers, or spotlight the return of someone from your past. News, conversations or reconnections will give you more to go on, but nothing’s final. Rather, this aspect encourages you to ask more questions or continue the review. Will the structure hold? Is the commitment real? Where are the weak spots? Mars adds gentle initiative – keep looking, thinking, considering and act accordingly.

Rules, denial or obligations define (Saturn) the wound (Chiron). The crisis of the square will make this influence especially tense and unpleasant. But the square is an active aspect. Chiron is meant to be confronted, so use the tension to do that. Mars’ influence on Sun/Mercury Rx encourages you to take action, in light of what you hear or learn (just remember it’s Mercury Rx).

The Capricorn/Saturn influence is dominant. This means maturity and self-control are your sharpest tools.

These influences are part of the Capricorn New Moon.

December 27th, 2016: Quiet Conquest

  • Capricorn Sun sextile Mars in Pisces: 6 degrees
  • Pallas enters Pisces

Pallas reenters Pisces after her Rx and return to Aquarius. The undefined pattern/strategy is ready to be pursued, again. Pallas Rx was a time to revise, and ensure that the pattern wasn’t an illusion. Now you can move forward with your creative/compassionate plan. Pallas is named after the warrior goddess, Pallas Athena, so she is also associated with victory. But in Pisces, the battle may not be obvious. It could be a spiritual battle, or strategies that help you overcome loss.

Sun/Mars can help, as they energize Pisces. Purpose harmonizes with action, for gentle but certain progress. None of these energies are about violent conquest. But they do encourage quiet victory.
