November 2nd, 2019: Following The Secret

  • Mercury RX in Scorpio conjunct Pallas (27°)

Sun/NN encourages you to follow the path of least resistance. Scorpio issues of depth, transformation, intimacy or complete commitment to an issue will effortlessly align you with your path forward. This is symbolized by the Cancer North Node, a new area of emotional fulfillment. Allow yourself to flow with your feelings or instincts-there will be a strong current that pulls you in a direction that feels right.

Mercury is intellect and communication, and when it unites with Pallas (strategy) you can access secret or obscured/taboo patterns. You can put unspoken strategies into words or investigate an approach to problem solving the that calls for instinct and intellect.

This is the second of two conjunctions in Scorpio-the first took place on October 21st at 27° (when Mercury was direct). That may have been your initial introduction to this strategy, and now you’re reviewing or looking more deeply at the issue. This second look will be an essential part of identifying hidden (possibly psychological) patterns.

October 31st, 2019: Mercury Retrograde

  • Mercury stations retrograde in Scorpio (27°)

Mercury RX signals a time of deep review, uncomfortable questions and delving into secrets/sensitive issues from the past. The pace of communication may slow to a halt, but it’s not really stopping-you’re going deeper rather than going forward. You’re drilling down in order to access a core truth. You’re redoing something and in the process you could uncover significant value.

There may be questions about sex, death, transformation and what you don’t have control over. Each question takes you deeper into the shadows, and that’s where the knowledge is.

This is about listening to the voice beneath the words. It could be your intuition, it could be taboo but brutally honest information, it could be a profound commitment. Mercury in Scorpio is never superficial and whatever is communicated is an all-or-nothing proposition: yes or no, fascinated or not interested. This retrograde can see you looking more closely at an extreme verbal commitment; will it stand up to this review?

Too, this transit supports targeted research into something that’s been stubbornly obscured. If you can’t find it, don’t give up just yet-go back and look more closely.

Buried or taboo desires are defined and given a voice, so this is great for clarifying essential details about relationships, finances, intimacy or values. Perhaps something secret is finally being communicated.

But note that Mercury will station retrograde at this degree on October 31st. So there are more layers to uncover or reasons to pause and reconsider what’s been said.

Don’t disregard this aspect, because it’s potent and truthful. But do keep in mind that much more will be revealed. Wait for the level below the words to be exposed. And then the next level, and the next…

Scorpio is ruled by Pluto, so today’s aspect (while gentle) gives an extra shot of depth and intensity to Mercury. As Pluto purges what’s beneath the structure, the truths are put into words.

Excellent for saying something that’s honest but potentially uncomfortable, because the information can be delivered in a way that does not jar the listener. Words will pack a quiet punch-carefully targeted observations will have maximum impact, and you won’t need to raise your voice. Also good for gradually investigating secrets-you can slowly but relentlessly work your way down through the layers.. 

Pay attention to whispered insights-this aspect allows you to “see” in the dark and understand what’s normally obscured. But the insight will be a hint, rather than a flash.
