  • Moon in Aquarius sextile Uranus in Aries (28 deg)

  • Moon Void of Course in Aquarius (28 deg 11:52 am EST)

  • Moon enters Pisces and VOC ends (2:43 pm)

  • Moon in Pisces square Venus in Sagittarius (2 deg)

Just before the Aquarius Moon goes VOC, its sextile to Uranus (ruler of Aquarius) offer a gentle shot of liberation and the need to do your own thing. This aspect will not encourage crazy or risky behaviour – rather, it’s a manageable surge of independence. You can sail through the VOC feeling good about being you with no need to answer to anyone.

As the Moon enters transcendent Pisces and squares Venus, the energy shifts to dreamy urgency – now there may be an increased desire to love, give or connect with others. Venus in Sag is still about freedom, but it’s the freedom to have what you want, with no limits. There’s always a desire for much more.

The square can make this a bit demanding and you may seek out more than is available. Too, this can be an aspect of overindulgence. It can still feel quite pleasant, but be aware that what you want may not be easily achieved or realistic.

Overall, not a grounded day as liberation shifts into fantasy. However, for some this can be quite positive if they work with the innovative and hopeful energies (fears are easily ignored).

January 1st, 2019: The Year Begins on a Scorpio Note

  • Moon in Scorpio square Black Moon Lilith in Aquarius (16 deg)

  • Moon in Scorpio opposite Juno in Taurus (20 deg)

  • Moon in Scorpio conjunct Ceres (21 deg)

  • Moon in Scorpio conjunct Venus (24 deg)

  • Moon Void of Course in Scorpio (5:26 PM EST)

The Scorpio Moon challenges Black Moon Lilith and Juno – the intensity of deeply honest, transformational needs and emotions will cause tension. Scorpio is the Shadow, and the Moon’s fleeting influence indicates brief incidents of possessiveness (Scorpio) versus freedom (Aquarius) and depth versus the comfortable routine of a relationship agreement (Juno).

Too, you may be exposed to the darker side of rebellion/freedom, as BML’s outsider and dangerous woman triggers manipulative situations. The shadow of Juno’s solid commitment can be projected survival fears and the stubborn refusal to give up control. The Scorpio Moon in hard aspect can illuminate what we don’t want to acknowledge.

Fortunately, the Moon then unites with Ceres (nurturing) and Venus (love, self-esteem) ending the day on a note of profound, boundaryless care (for self or another). The final conjunction to Venus before the Moon goes VOC suggests moments of heady, unfiltered love or the sweet realization that you can enjoy the richness of what you have, to the max (Venus in Scorpio takes a desired objective as far as it will go).

Once the Moon is Void, enjoy the mood and don’t worry about making any more changes or relationship demands, for tonight. Void time is rest time.

Overall, this energy may be heavy for some, but it will reveal truths about what you want, give and feel you deserve.

December 31st, 2018: Depth and Structure

  • Waning Sextile between the Scorpio Moon and Capricorn Sun (10 deg)

  • Pluto in Capricorn trine Juno in Taurus (20 deg)

Building up to the January 5th New Moon Capricorn eclipse, the Waning Sextile enables the refinement of emerging structures via a peek at what’s going on beneath. Scorpio hints at more below the surface – secrets and emotional intensity. What’s deeper can blend easily with the rules, so you can add form to intensity and depth to what you’re defining. In other words, what’s manifesting won’t be uncontrolled obsession/wallowing but it won’t be a rigid, emotionless cage either.

Pluto (ruler of Scorpio) makes a supportive trine to Juno, suggesting that the above will involve the empowering transformation of a fixed relationship agreement.

We’ve seen this trine before, on December 23rd (when Juno was Rx) so this is the completion of a process that’s been going on for awhile. The slow, steady evolution of a commitment has led you to this moment – how do your rules and boundaries look now?

December 29th, 2018: Painful Issues

  • Third Quarter Square between the Libra Moon and Capricorn Sun (7 deg)

  • Mars conjunct Chiron in Pisces (28 deg)

A touchy day, as the Third Quarter Square raises questions about existing rules and traditions. Imbalances between you and another or in a home versus work situation will trigger tension between what’s established/proper versus what feels acceptable. Perhaps you’re trying to keep up the facade but on the inside you feel undervalued. Perhaps the friction between being nice versus being successful has brought you to a crisis point. How are your boundaries? It may be time to reconsider who you give access to. Do you feel respected?

Mars/Chiron will add to the tension by triggering a wound. Mars is the activator, so there’s no getting around this – it’s going to be uncomfortable. But a conjunction is also a new beginning, and Mars is Pisces is about actions that trigger release. So this is where you confront the wound and move past it. The issue may not be nicely wrapped up (Chiron’s wounds never vanish) but nonetheless, Mars says that you must keep on keeping on. Acknowledge what hurts, forgive, exhale and step forward.

This conjunction occuring on the same day as the Third Quarter Square means issues of boundaries and imbalances will be painful, but the questions this lunar phase raises must be acknowledged. Now is not the time to avoid or gloss over the awkward stuff.

December 25th, 2018: A Leo Moon on Christmas Day

  • Moon in Leo trine Jupiter in Sagittarius (10 deg)

  • Moon in Leo opposite Vesta in Aquarius (11 deg)

  • Moon in Leo trine Mercury in Sagittarius (14 deg)

  • Moon in Leo opposite Black Moon Lilith in Aquarius (15 deg)

  • Moon in Leo square Venus in Scorpio (17 deg)

  • Moon in Leo square Ceres in Scorpio (18 deg)

  • Moon in Leo square Juno in Taurus (20 deg)

The Leo Moon trining Jupiter and Mercury in Sag supports bold, optimistic words and ideas. Big thoughts on Christmas Day, with Jupiter’s influence urging you to look ahead towards 2019.

But the oppositions to Vesta and BML will trigger some tension as focus (Vesta) on the individual (Aquarius) clashes with what’s being celebrated. Specifically, this may involve Lilith’s taboo female energy that many people don’t want to acknowledge. The witch/other woman/agitator who blazes her own path and doesn’t care if she disrupts the party.

The Moon goes on to square Venus (relationships, money, self-esteem) and Ceres (mother’s nurturing) in obsessive Scorpio, suggesting that expressions of love and care may be suffocating, with strings attached. There could be attempts to overdo it, with fear of loss or demands for attention as the primary motivators.

The final square to Juno suggests tension between a relationship agreement versus one person’s drive for attention or appreciation. Leo extravagance versus Taurus stability.

Despite the tense aspects, Leo’s power and joy is the dominant energy. Family and relationship dynamics will come and go, but Leo reminds us that there is something to take pride in, even if it’s just the fact that you made it this far. Leo is the fire that will not be extinguished – the lust for life, the power to create, the passion for self-expression. Whether you’re alone, with family or not even celebrating Christmas, consider what you can create/enjoy today.

December 24th, 2018: Reasons to Celebrate and Questions to Ask

  • Waning Inconjunct between the Leo Moon and Capricorn Sun (3 deg)

  • Mercury in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces (13 deg)

Waning Inconjunct

The Waning Inconjunct presents an adjustment to the results of December 22nd’s Full Moon – despite the seriousness of Capricorn, Leo will stir things up with a reminder that there’s something to rejoice in or put the spotlight on. Playfulness and joy may not be energies that you feel like embracing, but the inconjunct always asks that you find a way to integrate incompatible issues.

On Christmas Eve, consider what you have to celebrate. Even if you’ve been weighed down by responsibilities or family issues, perhaps you need to take a break, take a mild risk or enjoy what you’ve accomplished this year. You’re not forgetting about the heavier stuff but you are taking pride in how you’ve held it together.

Mercury/Neptune

While the illusions and confusion of the Mercury/Neptune square may initially make it difficult to rejoice, remember that this is actually the conclusion of November 16th’s applying square (which faded when Mercury stationed Rx and backed away).

That initial whisper or promise was almost but not quite. You glimpsed something more (or something suspicious) as Neptune expanded Mercury in Sag’s big, buoyant words (which may have sounded too good to be true). And now you’ll see the truth- the square is a crisis but also a turning point. After the fog lifts there may be some disappointment, but you’ll know exactly what’s real and what isn’t.

Mercury in Sag can also be about words of faith which are undermined by Neptune’s doubts. Again, there will be a crisis but then you’ll come out the other side. Your faith may be tested and questions may be asked. Wouldn’t you like to know the answer?
