Waxing Inconjunct

The Waxing Inconjunct throws something extra at you. Gemini is the sign of choices, information and learning. While you may think you have the structure completed or the rules figured out, there’s yet another thing to consider- more to learn, one more thing to decide. You may not want to make the irritating choice, but if you leave this out, you’ll be excluding something essential.

The inconjunct includes the Sun’s sextile to Chiron, which can indicate healing and compassion within the boundaries. But the Sun also squares Uranus, so there’s a surprise that will disrupt what you’ve built (and this surprise will be connected to the extra choice or fact you have to consider). Despite this, Sun/Chiron says that whatever is shaken loose should also free up some healing. Capricorn can be secure but also rigid, so watch for a bit of freedom that allows you to deal with what hurts.

Mercury/Pluto

Mercury is information and Pluto is the heart of the Shadow/the core truth. Therefore, this is an aspect of powerful understanding. Here is knowledge of what lies beneath- the Shadow put into words. Someone may confront you with this, or you may be delivering the message.

What’s revealed will tell you everything, although you may not want to know. This can happen via the formal discussion or official document. Perhaps someone verbalizes their authority and you see what’s really going on. Perhaps you glimpse the machinations behind the social position or law. Mercury/Pluto in Capricorn can be about researching and asking the forbidden questions (about status, judgements, rules) as you drill down to the secrets.

There’s power in absolute truth when you articulate fears or drop a depth charge of knowledge. Don’t be afraid to look directly at the Shadow and communicate what you see. Once you name what’s darkest it can’t manipulate you.

Note that Mercury is the ruler of the Gemini Moon, so part of the Waxing Inconjunct’s energy will involve choices/facts that reveal what’s buried.

Venus/Mars

On a lighter note, Venus/Mars harmonizes actions (Mars) with what you want (Venus). Attraction should flow smoothly and efforts to pursue (Aries) what’s appealing will progress easily. Venus in Sag is about what’s desirable in exploration. Mars in Aries is impulsive and courageous. This is a “go for it” aspect that encourages adventure, passion and the freedom to try something new.

If you were wondering if you should act, the answer is “Yes.”

Whatever tension the Waxing Inconjunct and Mercury/Pluto trigger, know that this challenging information is essential and may even be an important part of going after what you want.

  • Waxing Trine between the Taurus Moon and Capricorn Sun (26 deg)

  • Sun in Capricorn conjunct the South Node (26 deg)

  • Ceres in Scorpio trine the Cancer North Node (26 deg)

The Waxing Trine enables smooth progress as rules and ambitions are integrated with habits and security. What works for you and makes you comfortable will fit easily into a structure – your plans can progress slowly but surely if you use what you’ve got.

The Waxing Trine also involves the Sun’s conjunction to the South Node, so part of moving forward will involve the integration of a past rule or result. Or, perhaps an ending is necessary before you can take your next step. The Capricorn South Node suggests a law, judgement or responsibility that is now delivering results. How can you make the most of this? The Earth sign emphasis means visible, physical results – perhaps a structural foundation, material resources or the body.

Meanwhile, Ceres’ trine to the North Node encourages the development of a new area of emotional awareness. Deep nurturing can open the door to something that makes you vulnerable, but it’s safe – you can explore your needs without being hurt. The mother/child dynamic is very strong here and there may be someone who’s acting as your caring guide (or perhaps you’re intensifying the nurturing you’re capable of). Any relationship that involves unconditional care and support can move in a good direction.

The solidity of the Waxing Trine can support the development of a new path that takes you towards something that feels good and right – something that resonates in your core even if you can’t articulate it yet.

Overall, this can be a quietly productive day with progress that’s significant but not dramatic.

  • First Quarter Square between the Aries Moon and Capricorn Sun (23 deg)

  • Mercury in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces (14 deg)

The First Quarter Square challenges rules and authority with a shot of something courageous or impulsive. This is a crisis aspect that demands action, which means if control/traditions are challenged by something new, it’s time to step away from what’s defined.

It’s uncomfortable when you have to step outside the lines, especially if you’re the first one doing it. Perhaps the challenge involves fighting against the establishment or someone who’s trying to control you (or who’s always controlled you). “Courage” is the theme here – whether you’re the pioneer or the warrior, your next move might pit you against what’s already been decided. Aries is the upstart and Capricorn is the adult. In this case, the upstart has something valuable to offer. The entire process of antagonism, while unpleasant, is crucial.

Mercury/Neptune is a gentle influence that might not even be felt amidst the tension of the First Quarter Square, but there is a nice opportunity here to take the edge off strict words or rigid ideas. Soften the absolutes with a touch of creativity or empathy. At the same time, your disciplined focus add structure to a vague but promising idea.

  • Sun in Capricorn conjunct Pluto (20 deg)

  • Moon in Pisces sextile Pluto in Capricorn (20 deg)

  • Waxing Sextile between the Pisces Moon and Capricorn Sun (21 deg)

Sun/Pluto lights up an area of transformation and deep truth. Purpose unites with power, but this is power that comes from an awareness of what’s happening behind or beneath. The shadow is illuminated and how you handle this will dictate your measure of success or fear. Those that avoid the shadow will end up being manipulated by it. Those who confront their own shadow will be unstoppable.

What’s really going on behind the rules? What’s dying or being purged?

Integrating this into the Waxing Sextile, you have an opportunity to do something with what’s revealed. The dream, wish or undefined urge can be given form if unconscious desires and obscured truths are fully realized. Be honest, be brave and dive into what’s really happening. It’s all about the effort you make. .

January 10th, 2019: Precursor to the Jupiter/Neptune Square

  • Moon in Pisces sextile Mercury in Capricorn (8 deg)

  • Moon in Pisces sextile Saturn in Capricorn (12 deg)

  • Moon in Pisces square Jupiter in Sagittarius (13 deg)

  • Moon in Pisces conjunct Neptune (14 deg)

The Pisces Moon starts off on a relatively grounded note as sextiles to Mercury and Saturn keep things stable. Realistic, defined words and boundaries act as anchors to Pisces’ dreams and escapist tendencies. You may begin something with sober intentions.

But the Moon’s square to expansive Jupiter and conjunction with Neptune suggests you’ll quickly forget about the shoulds, as a rush of enthusiasm and fantasy push you past the limits. It will be easy to overdo it or float off on a cloud of something pleasant. Jupiter brings on the good feelings and sense of greatness (it’s all good and possible) while Neptune encourages you to let go, dissolve or forget. Note that the square is a tense aspect, which means Jupiter’s influence will be exaggerated – too much, too hopeful.

No judgements here – sometimes we all need to escape and just feel good. But make certain that anything crucial is completed before the Jupiter square hits (6:48 pm EST).

This Moon will briefly activate the applying Jupiter/Neptune square while reminding you (via Mercury and Saturn) that there are still rules to follow if you want to manifest something.

I discussed this in the most recent horoscopes:

“…on January 13th, Jupiter in Sagittarius makes the first of three squares this year to Neptune in Pisces. This is the soap bubble influence – beautiful, buoyant possibilities. Jupiter expands by increasing hopes and opportunities while Neptune expands by dissolving boundaries. But when they form a hard square, there is tension between hope and belief, truth and dreams. This square can introduce a lot but much of it may not be real.

Since the Mercury/Saturn conjunction occurs on the same day, pay attention to what you know rather than what you hope for. Jupiter/Neptune brings great creative potential that can, if handled with caution, manifest into something beautiful.”

  • Moon in Aquarius sextile Uranus in Aries (28 deg)

  • Moon Void of Course in Aquarius (28 deg 11:52 am EST)

  • Moon enters Pisces and VOC ends (2:43 pm)

  • Moon in Pisces square Venus in Sagittarius (2 deg)

Just before the Aquarius Moon goes VOC, its sextile to Uranus (ruler of Aquarius) offer a gentle shot of liberation and the need to do your own thing. This aspect will not encourage crazy or risky behaviour – rather, it’s a manageable surge of independence. You can sail through the VOC feeling good about being you with no need to answer to anyone.

As the Moon enters transcendent Pisces and squares Venus, the energy shifts to dreamy urgency – now there may be an increased desire to love, give or connect with others. Venus in Sag is still about freedom, but it’s the freedom to have what you want, with no limits. There’s always a desire for much more.

The square can make this a bit demanding and you may seek out more than is available. Too, this can be an aspect of overindulgence. It can still feel quite pleasant, but be aware that what you want may not be easily achieved or realistic.

Overall, not a grounded day as liberation shifts into fantasy. However, for some this can be quite positive if they work with the innovative and hopeful energies (fears are easily ignored).
