October 1st, 2018: Black Moon Lilith Conjunct Mars in Aquarius

  • Mars conjunct Black Moon Lilith in Aquarius (6 deg)

This is volatile energy. Mars is the activator, and in this case, what’s being activated is Lilith’s agenda of female rebellion and empowerment. But we must remember that she is feared and disliked by many – she is the outsider, especially in Aquarius. So power and liberation will come at a price.

Anger is part of BML’s vibe, because she was cast out. This is the anger of not being accepted, of being repressed, of being denied. Mars is, of course, about anger. So rest assured that what comes out today will be fuelled by this. Mars is also male energy and sexuality, so we may have a clash of the sexes or confrontation over a sexual issue. Lilith could act out by expressing herself in ways that threaten men. Or, she could be threatened herself.

The best-case scenario is an opportunity to take action and express part of yourself that’s honest and makes others uncomfortable. This can be about liberation, but expect resistance or even anger from some quarters. Some interpretations of BML try to paint a pretty face on her, but in my experience she is not pretty. Even when her power is being expressed in the most constructive way, there will be people who react strongly and unpleasantly to her, because she is strong and unpleasant (although she can be powerfully seductive).

Dawn Bodrogi said it best in this post from her site, The Inner Wheel:

“…I’ve yet to discover a true positive side to her aside from the raw power which emerges from her intimate connection to occult abilities, and her propensity to distribute post-rage clarity…the only way we can tap into the great power of BML is to sacrifice our fears, terrors and hungers.”

And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with “not pretty.” Not everything is pretty. Not everything is positive. Sometimes you have to go dark.

If you feel this conjunction (if you have anything from 5 to 6 deg of the Fixed signs) consider what needs to be liberated and why others might find it unacceptable or uncomfortable. You may be confronted, or you may be the one doing the confronting.

September 26th, 2018: Mars Conjunct the South Node

  • Mars conjunct the Aquarius South Node (4 deg)

This is the third meeting between Mars and the South Node, so there should be a sense of the past coming to a head. Actions (Mars) will be key: what you are leaving behind or breaking away from? This can go back to June 8th, 2018 (the first conjunction) and July 20th, 2018 (the second conjunction when Mars was Rx).

There may have been repeated efforts (or perhaps a repeated conflict) and this final conjunction could net you results. You may have to confront (for the last time) an issue that’s been particularly challenging.

Since Mars is also making a sextile to the Leo North Node, anything you do has the potential to propel you forward. But the key will be how you handle action, assertiveness or anger. Ultimately, this is about doing what’s unique – activating your liberation or individuality in a way that fires up your pride. What lies ahead should be about something you can celebrate.

  • Sun in Libra opposite Chiron Rx in Aries (0 deg)

  • Mercury in Libra square Saturn in Capricorn (2 deg)

  • Mercury in Libra trine Mars in Aquarius (3 deg)

Sun/Chiron illuminates a sore spot or an area requiring unusual courage. You may be reluctant to step up because it’s socially unacceptable. You may want to avoid the issue, or the issue may be projected (it’s not really about you). But Chiron in Aries demands a confrontation. This will be a continuation of yesterday’s Mercury/Chiron opposition.

Speaking of Mercury, the square to Saturn suggests excruciating politeness. Mercury square Saturn can manifest as stiff, halting words. And when Libra is added there is a fear of saying something that’s not acceptable. This will probably be related to the Chiron opposition- if you do the wrong thing, it might hurt. There will be an imbalance between courage and social harmony. Saturn’s rules can’t be broken, but something still needs to be confronted. Libra is about taking that impossible mix and somehow finding the middle ground.

Not great for spontaneous ideas, although the trine to Mars can present an outlet, if you’re paying attention. Watch for a less obvious but still significant way to get your point across. Mars trine Mercury is about words with an easy flow of passion and force, although the shadow of Saturn will clamp down on some of that. Nonetheless, you can still speak out as long as certain rules are respected.

All of the above aspects are part of the September 24th Full Moon, and can be considered advance influences.

  • Mars in Aquarius square Uranus Rx in Taurus (1 deg)

Here’s the final jolt. Sudden or disruptive actions that are a break for freedom (or a radical snap that frees you from the past) are in front of you once again. This is new, but not really:

  • May 16th: Mars direct square Uranus (0 deg Taurus)

  • August 1st: Mars Rx square Uranus (2 deg Taurus)

The initial square was aligned with Uranus’ Taurus ingress (on May 15th) so the ongoing surprises have been about much more than immediate actions. The bigger issue is, what does Uranus’ transit of Taurus mean for you? What resources/habits/values are being shaken up, and why? The squares to Mars could be seen as initial manifestations – what you had to do or what you had to break away from. Today’s final square means you’ve reached one of the many turning points that Uranus in Taurus will bring.

What’s your next move?

Mars opposition or square Uranus is a risk-taker and racer. It feeds off adrenaline and has very little patience. Mars/Uranus hard aspects seem to have a great rapport…

September 8th, 2018: The Final Shot

  • Venus in Libra square Mars in Capricorn (29 deg)
  • Uranus Rx in Taurus trine Pallas in Virgo (2 deg)

Venus/Mars

Venus and Mars square each other in the last degrees of their respective signs. This suggests relationship, financial or self-esteem issues are about to turn a corner. There’s a crisis between action and attraction – you may push too hard for what you want, or someone may pressure you.

Venus in Libra is light, flirtatious and graceful. Mars in Capricorn is serious and ambitious – maybe too serious for Venus. There’s motivation to get what’s desired (this can indicate some hot but discordant chemistry) but the balance (Libra) will be off. Success may or may not happen.

Mars is close to the degree where it stationed direct on August 27th (28 deg). So we have the added momentum of another try – you have been over this territory before (Mars Rx activated 29 deg Capricorn on August 12th). Previous delays or reviews may have increased the intensity of your motivation: this is your final shot.

The situation is about to progress as Venus enters Scorpio tomorrow (September 9th) and Mars enters Aquarius the day after. This could be the final, tense moment before an achievement or ending. If you’re striving for something or someone, know that you cannot control the other person or every detail of the outcome. You want to be the boss here, but the more you exercise your authority, the more unbalanced the situation will become. Give it your best but be wary of rigid insistence on having it all your way.

If you’re the one being pressured, remember that you can always say “No.”

Uranus/Pallas

Detailed patterns are given a hint of innovation. Uranus in Taurus’ ongoing changes to a habit or resource can invigorate practical strategies. Watch for a new twist on a solution or routine. Don’t be afraid to add a couple of extra details to an existing pattern – you could open up a whole new design.

These influences combine stability with change in a very manageable way.
