  • Third Quarter Square between the Scorpio Moon and Aquarius Sun (7 deg)

  • Vesta in Aquarius trine Pallas in Libra (27 deg)

The Third Quarter Square can raise some uncomfortable questions about a social ideal, drive for liberation or detachment. Now you need to look beneath the issue you’re currently viewing from a distance. There may be unpleasant truths or shadows that need to be confronted, but this will raise some pertinent questions about your group or place in society (even if you’re on the fringe).

Consider the dark side of liberation or escape – have you pulled away from something too quickly? What are your motivations for detaching? With any freedom comes loss, and this could be what you’re looking at now. If something intense is simmering beneath the surface, know that you can’t maintain the cool cover forever. Eventually you’ll have to dive in and feel, which will give you a brand new perspective on your connection to everyone else.

Vesta/Pallas can help you put some of this in perspective. Vesta in Aquarius is devotion to personal liberation, and when it harmonizes with Pallas in Libra, you can view your freedom in the context of its impact on your one-on-one relationships. Social strategies can work with independence – you don’t have to be isolated and others may support your solitary quest.

  • Moon in Libra sextile Jupiter in Sagittarius (16 deg)

  • Moon in Libra opposite Mars in Aries (17 deg)

  • Moon in Libra sextile Venus in Sagittarius (20 deg)

  • Moon in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn (21 deg)

  • Moon in Libra square the North Node in Cancer/South Node in Capricorn (26 deg)

The Libra Moon starts out on an upbeat note as the sextile to Jupiter encourages more social interactions, more hopeful relations and an increased desire to connect with others. Although the opposition to Mars can trigger some disputes that tip the balance (one person is aggressive and the other is passive) the sextile to Venus (ruler of Libra) continues the theme of friendly vibes.

So far, it seems like the desire to get along is predominant.

However, the square to Pluto will stir up whatever lies beneath the surface of social interactions. Relationships can take on an odd or hostile tone with a sense that that’s more going on, even as everything is presented in a polite manner. As the Moon squares the Nodes, watch for a choice and turning point – you’ll be looking at movement towards an authentic acceptance of needs while stepping away from outdated definitions of status, control and appearance. The tension of the Pluto square will have pushed you to this point – it’s time to get real about what you feel even though it will be messy and uncomfortable.

  • Waning Trine between the Libra Moon and Aquarius Sun (5 deg)

  • Mars in Aries trine Jupiter in Sagittarius (16 deg)

  • Ceres enters Sagittarius

Easy Flow

The Waning Trine encourages a natural flow between Libra’s one-on-one connections and Aquarius’ energy of the group/public. Personal and detached blend in a light, easy way – this encourages connections at all levels as public merges with partnerships and vice versa. Excellent for reaching out to others in a way that’s relatable to all. If you want to make a connection with someone new (or a new group) but you’re not sure how you’ll be received, this is your moment.

Mars/Jupiter add fuel to the above as actions are buoyed by faith and confidence. Starting something new or doing something that requires a bit of courage can work out as Jupiter graces efforts with good timing and luck. Follow the path of least resistance and just do it- see where it leads you. Jupiter also increases Mars’ energy, so this is the time to tackle a difficult project.

Ceres

Ceres into Sagittarius broadens the scope of nurturing and adds optimism to the cycle of care and loss. The urge to nurture more can increase (or you may discover that there’s more to look after). You’re not forgetting that loss is part of the cycle, but Sagittarius encourages you to look beyond the moment of grief – there’s a bigger picture that includes faith in something to look forward to (a reason or a truth). Even if there is no reason for what you’re losing, Sagittarius says that it doesn’t matter – the cycle keeps rolling and life continues.

Ceres in Sag can be helpful to those who have recently endured a loss, or who are in the midst of nurturing someone who is ill. This transit reminds you that there is always more on the horizon, even if you can’t see it right now. This transit can reignite your desire to care and nurture (yourself or something else). There could be an expansion of the urge to mother, protect or feed.

In mundane matters, this transit can emphasize the legal, philosophical or educational themes around food, mother/child dynamics or being a caregiver. Note that Jupiter (ruler of Sag) trining Mars energizes this ingress with courage – is it time to kick off a more assertive approach to nurturing? You can probably accomplish more than you think.

Ceres’ transit of Sagittarius will be extended due to her retrograde:

  • April 9th, 2019: stations Rx at 14 deg

  • July 17th, 2019: stations direct at 0 deg

  • November 15th, 2019: Capricorn ingress

  • Waning Inconjunct between the Virgo Moon and Aquarius Sun (3 deg)

  • Mercury in Capricorn square Uranus in Aries (28 deg)

  • Mercury in Capricorn sextile Chiron in Pisces (28 deg)

  • Mercury in Capricorn sextile Ceres in Scorpio (29 deg)

The Waning Inconjunct triggers awkward reminders that all is not complete after the January 20th/21st Full Moon eclipse.

There are some extra details to consider – a correction or picky addition that you’d rather detach yourself from. Maybe there’s a small inaccuracy that you just noticed (or that someone helpfully pointed out). After the eclipse’s dramatic illumination of power or ego, watch for a humbling reminder that the little things can seriously disrupt you if they’re not attended to. Fix it now and get it over with, then you can return to the bigger picture and issues of freedom, individuality and the future.

Mercury (ruler of Virgo) makes a square to Uranus (ruler of Aquarius). This gives us more info about the inconjunct- the flaw or detail will be surprising and may challenge set opinions or an official document/commitment. While inconvenient, the challenge is happening for a reason.

Note that Mercury’s sextiles to Chiron and Ceres suggest that the above disruption can free you up to confront a painful issue and accept some healing/nurturing. Rigid or uncompromising words/info will be given a shake, and perhaps that’s what needs to happen.

Now there’s room to talk about what hurts.

  • Moon in Cancer square Mars in Aries (12 deg)

  • Moon in Cancer opposite Saturn in Capricorn (13 deg)

  • Moon in Cancer trine Neptune in Pisces (14 deg)

The Moon/Mars square triggers emotional outbursts. The Moon is at its most powerful in Cancer (the sign it rules) which means feelings and needs will be close to the surface. Mars can stir up anger, passion or hurt feelings, and everything will be taken very personally.

But the Moon’s opposition to Saturn clamps down on any outbursts. Cancer is the child and Capricorn (ruled by Saturn ) is the adult. So we have an equally strong Saturn using authority and rules to block the expression of feelings. The result can be simmering frustration and repressed needs. Watch for stress-induced regressions into childhood.

The trine to Neptune is your outlet. If you’re feeling angry or impatient, you can tap into a source of creativity, transcendence or spirituality. Neptune encourages you to reach beyond your immediate needs – exhale and consider what else you can do in the moment, since Saturn will effectively block you. You will feel needy or restricted.

Remind yourself that this too shall pass and there’s always something more beyond what’s happening right now (Cancer is intensely personal but Neptune/Pisces is transpersonal). If you can find a way to forgive or shrug off the tension while focusing on what’s soothing and uplifting, you can glide through these stormy waters.

  • Waxing Inconjunct between the Gemini Moon and Capricorn Sun (28 deg)

  • Capricorn Sun sextile Chiron in Pisces (28 deg)

  • Capricorn Sun square Uranus in Aries (28 deg)

  • Mercury in Capricorn conjunct Pluto (21 deg)

  • Venus in Sagittarius trine Mars in Aries (11 deg)

Waxing Inconjunct

The Waxing Inconjunct throws something extra at you. Gemini is the sign of choices, information and learning. While you may think you have the structure completed or the rules figured out, there’s yet another thing to consider- more to learn, one more thing to decide. You may not want to make the irritating choice, but if you leave this out, you’ll be excluding something essential.

The inconjunct includes the Sun’s sextile to Chiron, which can indicate healing and compassion within the boundaries. But the Sun also squares Uranus, so there’s a surprise that will disrupt what you’ve built (and this surprise will be connected to the extra choice or fact you have to consider). Despite this, Sun/Chiron says that whatever is shaken loose should also free up some healing. Capricorn can be secure but also rigid, so watch for a bit of freedom that allows you to deal with what hurts.

Mercury/Pluto

Mercury is information and Pluto is the heart of the Shadow/the core truth. Therefore, this is an aspect of powerful understanding. Here is knowledge of what lies beneath- the Shadow put into words. Someone may confront you with this, or you may be delivering the message.

What’s revealed will tell you everything, although you may not want to know. This can happen via the formal discussion or official document. Perhaps someone verbalizes their authority and you see what’s really going on. Perhaps you glimpse the machinations behind the social position or law. Mercury/Pluto in Capricorn can be about researching and asking the forbidden questions (about status, judgements, rules) as you drill down to the secrets.

There’s power in absolute truth when you articulate fears or drop a depth charge of knowledge. Don’t be afraid to look directly at the Shadow and communicate what you see. Once you name what’s darkest it can’t manipulate you.

Note that Mercury is the ruler of the Gemini Moon, so part of the Waxing Inconjunct’s energy will involve choices/facts that reveal what’s buried.

Venus/Mars

On a lighter note, Venus/Mars harmonizes actions (Mars) with what you want (Venus). Attraction should flow smoothly and efforts to pursue (Aries) what’s appealing will progress easily. Venus in Sag is about what’s desirable in exploration. Mars in Aries is impulsive and courageous. This is a “go for it” aspect that encourages adventure, passion and the freedom to try something new.

If you were wondering if you should act, the answer is “Yes.”

Whatever tension the Waxing Inconjunct and Mercury/Pluto trigger, know that this challenging information is essential and may even be an important part of going after what you want.
