  • Mercury in Scorpio sextile Saturn in Capricorn (3 deg)

  • Juno stations retrograde in Gemini (0 deg)

Sun/Pluto

We see themes from the October 8th New Moon in the square between Pluto and the Libra Sun. Sun/Pluto is an aspect of power, but the tension of the square means it’s expressed discordantly. There is an intensified push for control/dominance based on the fear of being controlled/dominated. You may experience this as an extreme imbalance between you and another (one person has all the power).

In Libra, the surface vibe may be quite polite and “nice” but Pluto’s shadow suggests something darker behind the scenes. Watch for passive-aggressive or indirect expressions of power. If the situation feels “off” you’re not just imagining it. Consider where the anxiety might be coming from and if there’s any way you can correct that imbalance.

Mercury/Saturn

Mercury is nicely stabilized by Saturn. Conversations and realizations will be quiet and serious. Nothing dramatic here, just the certainty that you can rely on what you discover or hear. Saturn’s rules/focus can help you stay grounded if there’s a risk of becoming overwhelmed by the depth of Scorpio-flavoured information.

This aspect can help with the crisis of the Sun/Pluto square – stay calm, focus on what you’re uncovering or what feels deeply honest.

Juno

Mercury rules Gemini, and this is where Juno Rx is. As noted in this post, Juno (agreements, contracts) has only recently entered the sign of choices and new information. New agreements or partnership choices are being questioned already, but Mercury/Saturn suggests a calm, rational approach even as you peer underneath.

This takes us back to Sun/Pluto: Libra is the sign of relationships, so there’s hint that the power crisis will be connected to Juno’s Rx (questioning the new agreement).

Creating Balance | Astrology Horoscope

There’s an intense need for balance this week, under the karmic Libra New Moon on Monday October 8. With a craving for fairness and making things right, we’ll feel encouraged to start a new beginning, a start-up project or perhaps create a fresh approach to an unresolved situation. As an inner restlessness occurs, imagination will […]

October 7th, 2018: Selfless Nurturing or Sacrifice?

  • Sun in Libra conjunct Ceres, inconjunct Neptune Rx in Pisces (14 deg)

Referring to tomorrow’s New Moon, the Sun/Libra conjunction hi-lights the give and take of nurturing. This will be in a one-on-one context, with the ultimate expression of nurturing as a balanced exchange. Something is blooming here.

However, the inconjunct to Neptune is a reminder that ego is not part of this picture. Yes, sometimes nurturing can be expected or given with strings attached, but in this case the expression should be selfless. At the same time, there can be confusion about who gives what and where to draw the line between care and sacrifice. It may be difficult to achieve that balance, so make sure you and anyone else involved are completely clear on the terms of this exchange.

September 27th, 2018: Balance

  • Moon in Taurus inconjunct Sun in Libra (Waning Inconjunct-4 deg)

  • Sun in Libra trine Mars and the South Node in Aquarius (4 deg)

  • Mercury in Libra conjunct Ceres (9 deg)

  • Saturn in Capricorn conjunct Vesta (2 deg)

Waning Inconjunct

The Waning Inconjunct calls for an adjustment to Monday’s Full Moon in Aries. After that challenging culmination, the inconjunct asks you to ground yourself in the moment. Pause, and remind yourself of what you have right now. There may be an urge to keep compromising or comparing, and while you can’t forget about the balance between you and them, it’s important to stabilize yourself. Take stock of your current resources.

Along with the Waning Inconjunct, the Sun’s trines to Mars and the South Node extend the vibe from yesterday’s Mars/South Node conjunction by energizing that issue (from the past) that’s reached a turning point. The goodbye or moment of liberation will be enabled by your social awareness. This is all about relationship dynamics – what needs to be left behind and what you can build on. Use the inconjunct as a reminder of what’s best for you in this situation.

The Taurus Moon will square Mars and the Nodes, which adds extra emphasis to that issue of personal values, resources or security. It will be challenging to remind yourself of what you have and what’s best for you (there may be resistance from others) but that’s exactly what you must do. Your awareness of what you stand for is essential in achieving an effective balance with others.

Nurturing Words

Mercury/Ceres suggests a truly nurturing conversation where one person listens and the other vents. Or, where there’s an equal exchange of caring words. Excellent for any kind of discussion with a counselling vibe, but remember that Libra is an Air sign. This means objectivity. It’s not about intense revelations and intimate confessions – Mercury in Libra can be receptive to anything as long as the delivery is light and there’s room to step back and process what’s being shared.

Absolute Focus

Saturn/Vesta cranks up the focus on a rule, tradition or limit. Vesta’s devotion to an issue is severely defined by Saturn – there’s a sense of unshakable commitment or unblinking concentration. This can be positive or negative, depending on what the focus is.

September 25th, 2018: Sun Square Vesta/Saturn and Chiron Returns to Pisces

  • Sun in Libra square Vesta and Saturn in Capricorn (2 deg)

  • Chiron Rx re- enters Pisces

Vesta/Saturn

Vesta’s focus and Saturn’s limits indicate a hard point. There’s an area that’s demanding your absolute attention, and the responsibilities associated with it will be quite rigid. The square to the Libra Sun suggests this may feel unfair and unbalanced, with restrictions on certain social connections. Perhaps there are some relationship rules that must be obeyed.

You can’t fight Saturn – sometimes you just have to go along with program. Nonetheless, remember that Vesta’s focus can become so extreme that you lose sight of everything else. If you can, take a moment and step back from the relationship issue; it’s possible that your extreme concentration is tipping the balance in a certain direction.

This aspect is connected to yesterday’s Full Moon.

Chiron

Chiron’s return to Pisces is a reminder that you can still forgive or say goodbye. Even as you revisit a wound from April 2018, this time it’s about easing away those last bits of discomfort. The wound won’t vanish, but you’re being given a chance to accept a loss or area of pain. The acceptance is for you (not them) – you can’t move forward if you hang onto bitterness or rage. You can’t move forward if you refuse to acknowledge that it hurts.

Chiron in Pisces is a chance to temporarily retreat from Chiron in Aries’ fight. You’re shifting gears, maybe pulling back to take a breath. As you pull back, remember to let go.

Chiron will re-enter Aries on February 18th, 2019 and the new battle/new expression of courage will start up again.

  • Sun in Libra opposite Chiron Rx in Aries (0 deg)

  • Mercury in Libra square Saturn in Capricorn (2 deg)

  • Mercury in Libra trine Mars in Aquarius (3 deg)

Sun/Chiron illuminates a sore spot or an area requiring unusual courage. You may be reluctant to step up because it’s socially unacceptable. You may want to avoid the issue, or the issue may be projected (it’s not really about you). But Chiron in Aries demands a confrontation. This will be a continuation of yesterday’s Mercury/Chiron opposition.

Speaking of Mercury, the square to Saturn suggests excruciating politeness. Mercury square Saturn can manifest as stiff, halting words. And when Libra is added there is a fear of saying something that’s not acceptable. This will probably be related to the Chiron opposition- if you do the wrong thing, it might hurt. There will be an imbalance between courage and social harmony. Saturn’s rules can’t be broken, but something still needs to be confronted. Libra is about taking that impossible mix and somehow finding the middle ground.

Not great for spontaneous ideas, although the trine to Mars can present an outlet, if you’re paying attention. Watch for a less obvious but still significant way to get your point across. Mars trine Mercury is about words with an easy flow of passion and force, although the shadow of Saturn will clamp down on some of that. Nonetheless, you can still speak out as long as certain rules are respected.

All of the above aspects are part of the September 24th Full Moon, and can be considered advance influences.

September 21st, 2018: Easy Agreements

  • Virgo Sun trine Juno in Taurus (28 deg)

  • Mercury in Virgo trine Juno in Taurus (28 deg)

Coming off of yesterday’s Sun/Mercury conjunction, the trines to Juno suggest that the illumination of crucial details can solidify a partnership. This is excellent energy if you want two people on the same page – the facts will mesh naturally as both parties share their practical knowledge and solutions.

This is about the quiet, easy agreement – what makes sense, what’s been proven and what works for both people. It’s not romantic, but it is reliable.

September 20th, 2018: Sun Conjunct Mercury in Virgo

  • Sun in Virgo conjunct Mercury (28 deg)

This superior conjunction delivers a result in the context of the Sun/Mercury cycle. The previous conjunction (inferior) occured on August 8th at 16 deg Leo and was considered to be a new beginning (even though Mercury was Rx). This was the midpoint of Mercury’s Rx cycle.

Now as we arrive at the superior conjunction, there may be a culmination related to what began on August 8th. The Sun illuminates some crucial details or corrections – there will be no doubts about what’s presented. Virgo always relays the absolute facts.

This is an excellent influence if you have to communicate something practical, focus on some essential details or make a logical decision. Sun/Mercury is the ultimate clarifier, and the Sun adds power to whatever’s being said/written.
