Mercury retrograde and New Moon in Pisces, March 5-28, 2019
There’s a lot to unpack this week! Mercury has just turned retrograde. (For a little more detail, check out the video linked below.) Mercury turns retrograde three or four times a year, and travels retrograde for about 21 days each time. Because Mercury’s domain includes the mind, learning and communication but also trips of short duration […]

Dreaming of the Unthinkable | Starcana Cosmic Dirt
Good day my friend! If a tsunami of chaos spilled over from the transformative eclipse, you may find yourself struggling from the intense results as the lunar vibrations continue to trickle in. Mercury Station Retrograde. While fear and desperation may have driven us toward a direction that appeared to be safe… incoming bouts of confusion […]
March 4th, 2019: Optimistic Taboos

Moon in Aquarius sextile Jupiter in Sagittarius (22 deg)
Moon in Aquarius conjunct Black Moon Lilith (23 deg)
A powerful day for freedom, as the Moon is supported by expansive Jupiter. Adventure, independence and the open-minded consideration of anything (especially if it’s new) is favoured. Moon/Jupiter also brings optimism – it will feel as if things will work out, even though you have no proof or plan. But the sextile is harmonious, so this vibe won’t be exaggerated. Meaning, things shouldn’t get too crazy.
Building on this energy, the Moon/BML conjunction amplifies two sides of the feminine principle. The edgy and controversial facets of women’s sexuality and women’s roles in society are supported. Moon equals mother and BML is the opposite, and when they unite (in the detached sign of Aquarius) you have a new version of mother/woman whose identity is not defined by society.
This is a good day to consider different expressions of female energy that would normally be considered taboo or “weird” (according to polite society). Jupiter encourages you to do what feels good – focus on what’s positive and comfortable for you. Lift yourself up with your own truths, even if no one else approves (although Jupiter usually indicates ease in bringing the new forward to others).

March 3rd, 2019: Stubborn Challenges

Moon in Aquarius trine Juno in Gemini (7 deg)
Moon in Aquarius sextile Ceres in Sagittarius (10 deg)
Moon in Aquarius square Mars in Taurus (11 deg)
The Aquarius Moon starts off with a harmonious trine to Juno, encouraging open-minded choices in relationships and agreements. This is not the time to demand a commitment – Moon in Aquarius is about freedom which supports Juno in Gemini’s flexible choices.
Moon/Ceres then suggests nurturing which supports the exploration of whatever’s new and unusual. Ceres is about mother’s nurturing and nourishment. When it harmonizes with the Moon (the archetype of mother/child) we have a strong focus on nurturing an independent spirit. Growth is achieved by venturing into the unknown.
But the Moon runs into a square with Mars, which will present some bumps in today’s smooth flow. Mars in Taurus is stubborn, habitual actions. In a crisis-aspect to the Moon we have the potential for anger and resentment that’s triggered when independence become threatening.
Expect some challenges; either your freedom will trigger someone or someone’s individuality will conflict with your efforts. Taurus and Aquarius are both Fixed signs, so tension will not be easily diffused. Both parties will dig in and demand that things go their way.

February 25th, 2019: From Scorpio to Sagittarius

Moon in Scorpio sextile Pluto in Capricorn (22 deg)
Moon in Scorpio trine Mercury in Pisces (24 deg)
Moon in Scorpio sextile Venus in Capricorn (25 deg)
Moon Void of Course in Scorpio (25 deg at 7:13 am EST)
Moon enters Sagittarius and VOC ends (4:19 pm EST)
Moon in Sagittarius trine Chiron in Aries (0 deg)
The Scorpio Moon glides through the depths with harmonious aspects to Pluto (ruler of Scorpio- intensifying the purge) Mercury (putting the secrets into words) and Venus (finding love and value in what’s darkest).
Moon in Scorpio can feel quite heavy and often involves getting rid of what’s no longer valid. But these aspects ensure a smooth processing of passion, purging, shadow issues and forbidden truths. You can use these energies to safely confront what’s “too much” or too dark. The sextile to Venus especially suggests understanding from someone else or an intensification of your own understanding of what’s truly valuable (and what isn’t). Capricorn ensures that things won’t go too far – there will be boundaries in place. You’re safe.
As the Moon goes VOC, soak in what you’ve experienced, resting up for the burst of fire and enthusiasm that’s Sagittarius. The shift from Scorpio to Sag is about going as deep as you can, dredging up the hidden resources (or purging them) then accelerating and going as far and as high as you can. You may notice this shift as a surge of lightness and excitement – new things are suddenly possible. Use this momentum to tackle emerging wounds and doubts (Chiron).
If starting something or exploring new territory is the issue (especially if you’re unsure), it’s probably best if you wait until the Moon enters Sagittarius.
