Waxing Sextile

Here we have a gently sparkling energy that encourages you to take pride in your words or go public with your ideas. You can gain favourable attention by communicating, but you have to step into the spotlight and say “Listen to me.” This is not loud and dramatic – consider it as light and playful but worthy of notice.

Mercury

Mercury (ruler of Gemini) starts things off right with a sextile to Uranus – slightly daring/innovative words but nothing too crazy. The freedom to speak out in your comfort zone. But then the square to Chiron, which could make it difficult. You may shrink back from saying your piece because you feel vulnerable. Or, anything that’s said may feel so personal that it hurts, no matter how you put it out there.

Understand that there will be some painful conversations or thoughts today (most likely about past and family). You can’t avoid it, but you can use the energy of the Waning Sextile to forge ahead. Just say it/write it, and use the added nudge from Uranus to say what’s not quite “proper” or put a different twist on it- you have the freedom to articulate and Chiron’s wounds don’t do go away just because you avoid them.

  • Moon in Cancer conjunct Mars (13 deg)

  • Moon in Cancer conjunct North Node (17 deg)

  • Moon in Cancer trine Neptune in Pisces (18 deg)

  • Moon in Cancer opposite Saturn Rx in Capricorn (19 deg)

Assertive moods kick things with the Moon/Mars conjunction- all the feels will be released with great energy (or anger), and this can propel you forward. The conjunction with the North Node encourages full-on expression; this is not the time to deny what you’re feeling.

Anger, tears, passion, protectiveness, vulnerability – they will all come out.

The trine to Neptune will enable the flow as limits are gently dissolved. You may need even more than you realized while connecting with the transpersonal vibe of compassion, the collective or greater healing. This can be the moment when you realize that others feel what you feel – you’re not alone.

However, the Moon then runs into an opposition with Saturn Rx and the flow will come to a halt. Here we have the external authority/rules/father and the message is “No.” What gives? Whatever limits you confront, consider them to be a call to maturity and self-sufficiency – it’s important to express your feelings but if taken too far, it’s like the child throwing a tantrum.

Ultimately, you’re responsible for meeting your own needs and you can’t hold others hostage with your moods. I mean, you can, but realize what that does to those around you. It’s a balance between owning your feelings versus forcing them on others and using your moodiness as a threat when they don’t comply.

Remembering that Saturn is the ruler of the South Node (the past) this opposition can also be an ending/result as your feelings carry you away from what no longer nourishes you. Parental dynamics will be pronounced, whether or not your actual parents are involved.

May 29th, 2019: Waning Sextile and Mercury Square Neptune

  • Waning Sextile between the Aries Moon and Gemini Sun (7 deg)

  • Mercury in Gemini square Neptune in Pisces (18 deg)

The Waning Sextile suggests new impulses can accelerate the flow of information or push you to make a choice. There can be an increased sense of urgency to communicate or check out new facts. This will happen smoothly, so the urgency will happen without pressure – you can even ignore this if you want. However, it would be to your benefit to go with the flow and pay attention to anything new/exciting/passionate that’s grabbed your attention.

Having said that, the Mercury/Neptune square can raise some tricky signals. What’s true and what’s not will be difficult to discern. It may be challenging to focus on one issue or deliver a clear message. While Neptune can encourage you to look at/say more (as it dissolves limits) and this can accelerate the flow of the Waning Sexilte, you want to pay attention to the facts. Make sure that the information is accurate, and don’t succumb to the temptation to blur what you’re not certain about.

Only proceed with what makes sense and what’s clear.

May 23rd, 2019: It Hurts But Keep Talking

  • Waning Trine between the Aquarius Moon and Gemini Sun (2 deg)

  • Sun in Gemini square Black Moon Lilith in Pisces (2 deg)

  • Mars in Cancer square Chiron in Aries (5 deg)

  • Mercury in Gemini sextile Chiron in Aries (5 deg)

Issues from yesterday’s square between Mercury in Gemini and BML continue as the Sun energizes the difficult conversations or mixed messages. Lilith gets the spotlight in a way that illuminates the crisis between taboo women’s issues and hard choices. Perhaps no option seems favourable, or you’re torn between keeping things light versus acknowledging the dark issue that oozes between the lines.

The Waning Trine can help – this is an aspect of sharing and understanding. An open minded, somewhat detached approach can facilitate cooperation – others will respond favourably to potentially disruptive info if you deliver it cooly and calmly. Give them the option to disagree.

Mars/Chiron adds another twist, as actions/anger/sexuality trigger painful moments. Feelings of vulnerability can be particularly intense, and it will be difficult to not make the wrong move. It will seem like everyone (including you) is easily bruised. Fortunately, Mercury is also aspecting Chiron, but it’s making an easy sextile. Talk about what hurts; keep it light, explore multiple solutions, but keep talking and asking questions.

This is also an encouraging aspect for the squares to BML, suggesting that yesterday’s difficult messages can be sorted with a mix of logic and empathy. You’re touching on what hurts and looking at the facts, but you’re not pressing down on it.

May 20th, 2019: What If

  • Moon in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces (18 deg)

  • Moon in Sagittarius conjunct Jupiter Rx (22 deg)

  • Moon Void of Course in Sagittarius (1:04 pm EDT)

  • Moon enters Capricorn and VOC ends (May 21st 3:56 am EDT)

The Moon’s square to Neptune can expand unrealistic hopes while the conjunction with Jupiter (ruler of Sag) suggests an enhanced moment of faith and optimism. This energy will amplify a wish or distant possibility, and it can feel quite euphoric.

There’s nothing wrong with aiming high – this can be moment to ponder “what if” with a smile. As the Moon goes VOC, the rest of the day will not be great for starting something new or nailing down concrete plans. A reality check is coming on the 21st (with the Moon’s Capricorn ingress) but in the meantime it can be nice to just let your dreams carry you away.

May 19th, 2019: Black Moon Lilith and Mother

  • Moon in Sagittarius square Black Moon Lilith in Pisces (1 deg)

  • Moon in Sagittarius trine Chiron in Aries (4 deg)

  • Moon in Sagittarius conjunct Ceres Rx (9 deg)

The Moon’s square to BML hi-lights tension between the urge to enthusiastically move forward versus darker, quieter currents of taboo energy. The Moon and Lilith are both female archetypes, but the familiar Moon is mother/comfort and Lilith is the outcast or unacceptable woman. In Pisces, an uncomfortable issue (involving women’s sexuality) seeps into the day. It can undermine optimism and growth if you become lost in it, but it cannot be ignored.

The Moon’s trine to Chiron and conjunction with Ceres (mother’s nurturing) offer a solution- deal with the pain (Chiron) by tapping into your courage and acceptance of vulnerability/fear. You can do this with hope. Ceres in Sag is about nurturing future growth and faith – the Great Mother opens her arms and encourages exploration. You’re not glossing over the dark stuff, but you don’t have to drown in it, either.

There’s something to look forward to on the horizon.

May 16th, 2019: Proper Focus

  • Waxing Inconjunct between the Libra Moon and Taurus Sun (25 deg)

  • Mercury in Taurus trine Capricorn South Node (19 deg) and Saturn Rx in Capricorn (20 deg)

The Waxing Inconjunct can trigger moments of frustration as you realize that it’s not all about you. Your primary focus on self (money, security or values) will be interrupted by the requirement to balance this with someone else’s needs. You’re not forgetting about you, but now is the time for a bit of compromise.

Mercury’s trines will keep the conversation or plans firmly fixed on existing rules and responsibilities. Yes, you want to move on from the past, but some obligations are necessary to keep your focus in line with what matters – what’s real and reliable. This can mark the harmonious conclusion of an official plan, the signing of a document, a commitment or your firm understanding of what needs to be said. Perhaps you’re communicating your boundaries. Too, memories can be reassuring as they draw your attention to what you’ve built.

Mercury is also making a sextile to the Cancer North Node, so what you say or define from the past will give you a structured view of the future.
