Mars/Neptune

Mars/Neptune is confused or undermining actions. Mars in Gemini can jump between different choices, but then Neptune blurs the details and the choices slide in and out of focus. What you do may be questionable, deceptive or scattered (multiple starts that fizzle out).

Use caution with all actions and initiatives – have a backup plan and leave yourself extra time to compensate for difficulty in focusing. If you have any doubts about the integrity of what you’re doing (or what they’re doing) listen to those doubts. This aspect can indicate the stealthy side-step or endless distractions.

Mercury/Pallas

Gemini is ruled by Mercury, and Mercury is in Mars-ruled Aries. The assertive comment is too blunt for polite social strategies (Pallas in Libra) so there may be disagreements. But that assertiveness could be misguided. Go back to the primary motivations (Mars) for the disagreement- are they muddled or is there a deceptive side?

The #Astrology of the #NotreDame Fire

(Astrology Explored)   Paris and the world suffered an inexplicable loss with the destruction of much of the 850-year-old Notre Dame Cathedral. Starting at around 6:50 PM, Paris time, initial reports stated that the fire started on the roof. Four hundred firefighters battled the blaze for nine hours before they … Continue reading

Double Bubble of Trouble | Starcana Cosmic Dirt

Venus enters Pisces. What has recently mattered and supported our personal growth will be shifting as Venus transits from altruistic Aquarius, to join thoughtful Mercury and imaginative Neptune in bubbly Pisces, on Tuesday March 26. During the next four weeks, we could find ourselves attracted to what proves to be sympathetic, forgiving and healing. Through […]

March 14th, 2019: Take Action

  • First Quarter Square between the Gemini Moon and Pisces Sun (23 deg)

  • Sun conjunct Mercury Rx in Pisces (24 deg)

  • Mercury Rx trine the Cancer North Node (24 deg)

  • Mars in Taurus trine Saturn in Capricorn (18 deg)

First Quarter Square

Here we have a crisis that demands action, but your choices (Gemini) may be vague (Pisces). It will be difficult to pinpoint the correct path and it may feel easier to not choose, or to simply drift along without looking at the facts. Nonetheless, you need to do something and that will require selecting A or B.

The Sun’s inferior conjunction to Mercury Rx (ruler of Gemini) can help, as it marks a point of clarity. This is the middle of Mercury’s retrograde, so something essential will be illuminated. Delays, shifting facts and hazy truths have led you to this point- pay attention to what’s revealed and use it in your First Quarter Square decision.

Mercury Rx trine the North Node means that overall, what you learn (and act on) today can take you in the right direction-towards a place that feels (Cancer) safe, authentic and fully aligned with what you need. This is the second of Mercury’s three trines to the North Node (the first one occurred on Feb 26th) so this is part of an ongoing process.

Note that the inferior conjunction is similar to a “New Moon” influence (it marks a new beginning) and will be connected to the “Full Moon” results of the previous superior Sun/Mercury conjunction from January 29th at 9 deg Aquarius.

Mars/Saturn

Patient actions harmonize with rules and structure. In the Earth signs, this is the ultimate manifestation aspect as what you do can have physical, measurable results. There’s nothing dramatic here – slow and steady is the way to go. Work within the boundaries. Movement may be so slow that you question if any progress is being made, but you’ll know there’s progress if you can see/feel the results. Mars in Taurus favours building material security or working to make something grow.

This is about taking responsibility (Saturn) for what you want. If you don’t act and you don’t commit to the long- term, nothing will happen.

Consider how this relates back to the required action of the First Quarter Square – choose (Gemini) based on what’s revealed (Sun/Mercury), commit to that path then move forward carefully and deliberately.

  • Venus in Aquarius trine Juno in Gemini (11 deg)

  • Mars in Taurus sextile Neptune in Pisces (16 deg)

  • Saturn in Capricorn sextile Vesta in Pisces (18 deg)

Flexible Agreements

Venus/Juno blends independent expressions of love/affection with flexible partnership agreements. This aspect encourages mutual freedom and an agreement that both partners can be themselves. It could be about the freedom to come and go, or the freedom to define commitment in a new way. It favours open discussions with no judgements.

Real and Transcendent

Mars/Neptune takes solid actions and harmonizes them with a wish or transcendent issue. This is manifestation energy: real-world efforts are applied to what’s not real (yet). Neptune also elevates Mars’ ambitions, urging you to look up from immediate concerns and aim a bit higher.

Continuing the mix of real and transcendent, Saturn adds even more focus to Vesta’s devotion, grounding the higher vision with rules and structures. This speaks to profound discipline that’s applied to something sacred.

Mars and Saturn connecting to Pisces brings to mind the connection between self-denial and sacred energy. Awareness of what lies beyond the body and working with physical limits can fuel creative or spiritual energy (physical discipline creates focus which is directed towards a higher goal).

Pay attention to the shift that happens when you focus on something outside your body but use your connection to the earth as a solid platform.

  • Sun in Pisces sextile Mars in Taurus (9 deg)

Sun/Mars presents a gentle boost of initiative. Mars in Taurus is gradual movement and this will ground Pisces’ dreams. It won’t present as a radical surge of “do it” energy, but if you’re conscious of what’s happening you should be able to sense quiet potential.

Good for manifestation if you’re prepared to get real and if you have patience. The confidence to make it happen is based on physical effort and proof.

Look at what you can do right now. What are some practical steps that you can take? Nothing fancy and nothing fast- this is about taking a dream and planting it in the ground. Pisces is the exalted potential that waters the earth and Mars in Taurus expends the effort to make it grow.
