  • Taurus Sun inconjunct Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius (22 deg)

  • Taurus Sun trine Pluto Rx in Capricorn (23 deg)

Sun trine Pluto is power expressed in an easy way. It can be accessed naturally and influence (over others) can be expressed smoothly. f you tap into the destruction and redefinition of rules/commitments, you can tap into something truthful that lies beneath the surface. This evolution will fuel your confidence, purpose and ability to manifest security.

This is the power of death, rebirth and growth.

But the Sun does make an awkward inconjunct to Jupiter (optimism), so there will be a spot of exaggeration arising from lack of confidence. Fear of the big change? An issue of faith/expansion is incompatible with what’s established but transforming. You may overcompensate and push for too much, or try to dominate others. Loss of perspective is a possibility, so be aware of your foundation and the promising opportunities ahead. Try to balance them and know that you have reason to be confident.

Pluto and Jupiter are retrograde, so this is an issue you’re returning to. Maybe it’s a second chance.

May 11th, 2019: Work and Play

Pieter Brueghel the Elder

Pieter Brueghel the Elder

  • Taurus Sun trine Saturn Rx in Capricorn (20 deg)

  • First Quarter Square between the Leo Moon and Taurus Sun (21 deg)

Sun/Saturn Rx continues yesterday’s Sun/South Node theme of using rules/structures from the past to strengthen the present. Saturn Rx as South Node ruler tells you there are past obligations to attend to. But the harmonious trine allows you integrate what was into what is. Accept the limit/ending and you’ll see that it enhances your purpose.

But then you’re dealing with the First Quarter Square – a crisis between what’s reliable versus what’s bold or celebratory. That Saturn vibe could make you feel a bit stuck, especially when you’re confronted with a situation that calls for you to step into the spotlight (Leo) or really enjoy what you’ve been pouring your energy into. It’s the tension between work and play, studiousness and flamboyance. It may feel inappropriate or egotistical to celebrate, but shouldn’t you be rewarded for your efforts?

The burdens of the past cannot be ignored, but they are also in the past. Once you attend to them and use them to strengthen your current focus, look ahead towards the glow of promise. Don’t be afraid to step up and claim responsibility for the good stuff as well as the heavy stuff. Leo is ruled by the Sun which bring us back to Taurus – take credit for the security and abundance you’ve created. Enjoy the fruits of your labour (Saturn).

May 10th, 2019: Using the Past to Strengthen the Present

  • Taurus Sun trine the Capricorn South Node (19 deg)

Sometimes you can use the rules/traditions of the past to your advantage.

This aspect suggests tapping into previous structures and using them in a way that comes naturally. Take what’s been proven and use it to strengthen what you know- you can build up existing resources/security. The trine is such an easy aspect that the flow from past to present may be unremarkable, but that doesn’t mean it’s not significant.

This could be as simple as applying certain rules to save money or using old lessons of discipline to fortify your self-esteem. Taurus is not a complicated sign, and this does not have to be a big deal. But it is important.

The Sun also makes a sextile to the Cancer North Node – this aspect is weaker than the trine, which means the main action is between past (SN) and present (the Sun). But the future (NN) is always part of that relationship- how the past and present interact (regarding the build of something solid) can enable your exploration of new and essential emotional areas.

Get stable now so you can move into new territory with confidence.

Another way to look at this – if South to North Node is a direct path from past to future, the Taurus Sun is at the side of that path but it fits naturally with the flow. “Naturally” is the key word – everything should fit together and make sense.

April 22nd, 2019: Sun Conjunct Uranus in Taurus

  • Sun conjunct Uranus in Taurus (2 deg)

Uranus has a way of making things impersonal. When combined with the Sun, the ego is punctured with wake-up calls. This happens as the Sun energizes an existing area that’s ready to be updated/liberated.

Uranus’ transit of Taurus is redefining security, resources and values by abruptly shaking what’s been set and stagnant. This will be a long process, and the Sun’s conjunction can indicate a specific incident that gets the ball rolling or reminds you of why you need a new source of income/new habits/new expression of values.

The jolt may be quite shocking but it can help if you see that it’s not personal. Uranus is about detachment, so what’s happening is meant to push you back from what you’re most attached to. This energy is the ultimate expression of clarity – attachments are incinerated, security is forcefully removed. Why? So you can see what’s better and even more lucrative – the new source of income, the values that actually support you, the updated security that keeps you safe in the future (not the past).

If you’re the vehicle for change (you have the sudden urge to break away) embrace the upgrade! But remember that once you do this, there’s no going back. Sometimes Uranus pushes you to do things before you’ve thought of all the consequences. There’s urgency, but you don’t have to be careless.

Taurus Season: New Growth

The Sun enters Taurus on April 20th at 4:55 am EDT. This is the season of resources and grounding, with a focus on growing what’s been planted. It means making the most of what you have. Security comes from solidifying what works for you and understanding the true value of your resources and yourself.

Taurus is a Fixed Earth sign that is concerned with growth, abundance, fertility and all things that you can see and touch. If there’s no physical evidence it’s not real.

Having said all this, the Sun will conjoin Uranus in Taurus. This could illuminate a specific situation that is ready to be disrupted, or a moment when you realize that growth occurs in fresh soil. The field you’re working is no longer sustaining you. The old values are stale – abundance lies ahead, in new territory.

This post outlines what Uranus’s transit of Taurus means. Despite this sign’s fixed habits and dependence on security, Uranus says it’s time for something to be updated. The downside of Taurus’ fixed nature is stagnation that denies growth. Uranus (which is about the future) is here to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Wondering how Uranus’ transit of Taurus might impact you? I’ve written an eBook about it, based on your house positions (you need to know your birth time so you can figure out which description in the book applies to you).

Here are the aspects the Sun in Taurus will make:

  • Apr 22nd: Sun conjunct Uranus (2 deg)

  • May 2nd: inconjunct Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (12 deg)

  • May 3rd: inconjunct Pallas Rx in Libra (13 deg)

  • May 4th: New Moon (14 deg Taurus)

  • May 8th: Sun sextile Neptune in Pisces (18 deg)

  • May 10th: Sun trine the Capricorn South Node (19 deg)

  • May 11th: Sun trine Saturn Rx in Capricorn (20 deg)

  • May 13th: Sun inconjunct Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius (22 deg)

  • May 13th: Sun trine Pluto Rx in Capricorn (23 deg)

  • May 18th: Full Moon (27 deg Scorpio)

  • May 21st: Gemini ingress
