Leo Season: You Have The Power

The Sun enters Leo on July 22nd at 10:50 PM EDT. This is the season of pride, joy, power and courage – the courage to fully express who you are and take pride in that. Leo’s power comes from the fire of conviction that you are the best/the leader/the centre. Whether or not you feel this about yourself, the vibe of Leo season is a good time to take stock of what you’re proud of, what empowers you and what brings you joy.

Leo is famously selfish and generous. And here we have the essence of distorted and healthy Leo. The distortion arises when ego is threatened and there are childish demands for attention. But the highest expression of this sign is unforced generosity, megawatt charm and romance – you just know you’re exceptional so others bask in your glow. And this in turn attracts more of the adoring audience because there are no rages or self-pitying dramas to repel people. Just before the Sun enters Leo, it forms a Disseminating Trine with the Moon (4:34 AM EDT). The watery harmony between Pisces and Cancer encourages a gentle, emotional connection – personal (Cancer) blends with transpersonal (Pisces), allowing you to empathize with almost anyone via issues that were previously exclusive and subjective. Pisces also enables release – things that seemed so hurtful and personal are easy to let go of, like water through your fingers.

The Waxing Trine enables harmony between what’s safe/comfortable and what can be very uncomfortable. Intensity blends with familiarity, moving you towards a profound exploration of needs, feelings or family issues. Excellent for accessing secrets or personal issues that no one wants to look at. Now’s the chance to dive in and get comfortable in the deeper waters.

The Mars/Chiron trine continues that theme as bold or confident actions trigger healing through courage. The wound is there, but you’ve got the stuff to confront it and move through it – you can stand out/stand up even though you feel vulernable.

But…Mars also squares Uranus. So there will be jolts, accidents, explosions of anger or unexpected displays. Again the backdrop of these smooth trines we have a surge of electricity – it may be a push into the future or an impatient demand for attention, no matter the cost. Maybe this is what triggers the need to go deeper. And it can certainly open up an opportunity for healing (Chiron) through bold actions (Mars).
