  • Mars in Libra square Saturn in Capricorn (15°)

This aspect is about blocked actions that trigger an imbalance of authority. Social rules and traditions may be oppressive, and the crisis manifests as a Waning Square. This means immediate actions are not appropriate, but questions are.

Even if you wanted to take action, I don’t think you could. But pay attention to the discomfort and questions that are raised. How does the imbalance of authority affect you? What can you do to correct that imbalance? There are certain limits that you simply cannot push past-will you continue to obey them? What compromises can you make?

Is the effort worth it? If it is, what are you willing to endure?

This can be a very frustrating aspect that signifies repressed anger or a fruitless struggle. There will be something unfair about what’s happening. This aspect will relate back to the Mars/Saturn conjunction at 8° Capricorn on April 2nd, 2018. That is when this issue began, with focused efforts, ambition or a need for extra work. Now you’re nearing the end of this cycle with questions about the rules versus your efforts. Think back to the beginning, about what you were trying to make real.

  • Last Quarter Square between the Cancer Moon and Libra Sun (27°)

  • Mars in Libra square the Capricorn South Node/Cancer North Node (11°)

  • Venus in Scorpio trine Neptune RX in Pisces (16°)

The Last Quarter Square can trigger difficult questions around balancing your personal needs in a relationship. Maybe you’ve been giving too much or trying so hard to be agreeable that you’ve ignored your core truths. This square will activate a crisis that forces you to consider what you really need and how that compares to what you’ve been giving or receiving.

Adding to the tension, Mars squaring the Nodes can make it very difficult to act or express anger. It may feel like everything you do is out of step with the current. This is actually a reminder to pause and consider the choice that’s been active since September 22nd (Mercury, Venus and the Sun in Libra have squared the Nodes since that date)-the value of old rules/traditions/judgments versus a more authentic path forward that is aligned with what you need.

The Cancer Moon rules the North Node so this is very much about stepping away from familiar but limiting habits and moving towards what’s unfamiliar but authentic. Maybe a responsibility needs to be wrapped up before you step forward. Any action you take should move you towards the North Node.

There is a harmonious connection between Venus and Neptune-this energy promises unconditional love, easy intimacy or a smooth immersion into what you want. While today’s actions will be tricky, attracting, allowing and opening yourself up to something you trust should be effortless (as long as you’re willing to go all the way). Note that Venus rules Libra, so this takes us back to the Third Quarter Square: diving into what’s authentic can be part of the answer to this crisis.

October 12th, 2019: New Relationship Dynamics

  • Mercury in Scorpio trine the Cancer North Node (12°)

  • Venus in Scorpio opposite Uranus RX in Taurus (5°)

  • Mars in Libra inconjunct Uranus RX in Taurus (5°)

Venus/Uranus can trigger a surprise ending/result that disrupts a hidden or taboo issue. Relationships, values or finances will be abruptly clarified as an external shock forcibly detaches you from what you’ve been trying to possess. This could also be a sudden urge for liberation from a heavy situation. In some cases, a radical new attraction can shake your sense of control.

Uranus’ harsh, clear light pierces Scorpio depths and reveals the truth about what you love or want. The shock provides clarity which can only arrive when you step outside of Scorpio’s all-encompassing intensity. If you’ve been trying to possess someone, they may be ripped away.

Mars/Uranus adds unbalanced actions/sexual energy to the above as current relationship efforts are revealed to be incompatible with this revelation. Mars will scramble around in an effort to find a new balance point: doing nothing for fear of rocking the boat and then doing something ill- advised and impulsive.

The old relationship dynamics no longer exist: Uranus has blown them away. The change must be honored but a new balance point must be found. It will be difficult, but make an effort to moderate your actions according to this new normal. Be wary of reacting without thought, even if circumstances are pushing you.

On an easier note, Mercury/North Node says that intimate conversations or deeply honest words will guide you in the right direction. The path forward is pointed towards a place that’s more emotionally honest, empathetic and in tune with your core needs. Today’s nakedly honest observations or deep self-analysis can take you there.

October 8th, 2019: Mars Opposite Chiron

  • Mars in Libra opposite Chiron RX in Aries (3°)

Mars in Libra is about balanced actions, but when it opposes the Wounded Healer balance will be very difficult. It may seem like the more you try to compromise or do what’s socially acceptable, the more you rub someone the wrong way. Too, you may find yourself reacting to someone else’s wounds.

This can be especially difficult with passive aggressive expressions of anger. If the anger is not fully owned, it will be projected onto someone and they’ll get hurt.

Accept that there’s going to be painful moments today and pay attention to the sore spots that are revealed. Even if the revelation is indirect, this is an excellent time to be aware of a vulnerability that needs to be addressed. If you’re afraid to act because you don’t want to hurt someone or stand out/be uncomfortable, know that you probably won’t be able to avoid this. Move cautiously, but don’t just sit there. Remember that Mars rules Aries, and Chiron in Aries is about taking action, even if it hurts.

Mars Enters Libra

Mars enters Libra on October 4th (12:21 AM EDT). Mars is supposedly weak and its opposite sign, because Libra is ruled by Venus. And it can be difficult to take direct, assertive action during this transit since there is an increased emphasis on weighing the pros and cons (which can degenerate into waffling) and waiting to see what the other person wants rather than standing up for yourself.

Mars can also be terribly passive aggressive in this sign: anger is expressed with sugarcoated barbs or projected hostility. “Everything’s fine” is said through gritted teeth.

But I find that this can be a very, very competitive placement for Mars. Libra is a Cardinal sign, which means there’s a drive to be first. That drive maybe expressed with more strategy and refinement than Aries but never underestimate this energy. Relationships and social strategies will have an increased undertone of competitiveness during this transit-it’s not your imagination. Flirtation and sexual energy will seem sweet on the surface, but underneath there’s a carefully disguised urgency to win.

You can work with this by reading the room before you act. Watch for the social cues and listen to what your partner wants. Then, act accordingly or assert yourself with a bit of finesse. You you can be polite but firm rather than screaming (to express your anger). You’d be amazed at how effective you can be when you mix a bit of sugar with that fire.

This transit is also excellent for encouraging partners to work together in a more balanced manner. They do something for you, you do something for them and it’s win-win. It’s about strategy.

But since Libra is the sign of balance it is also the sign of imbalance. That means there can also be a risk of actions veering to extremes. Meaning, you do nothing and then become frustrated at your inaction and do something that sends the scales crashing to the floor. Or, you do everything for someone and they do nothing in return. Pay attention to those moments that trigger imbalances; this will tell you a lot about where your energy is best spent and where you should walk away. The ideal Mars in Libra efforts are poised and precise.

Mars enters Scorpio on November 19th.

Cutting Loose | October Tarotscope | Starcana Cosmic Dirt

Good day friend. There’s an uncomfortable shift on Tuesday October 1, where values, relationships and/or money situations can be affected by a slippery Venus/Pluto square. September 30th, 2019: Lilith and Neptune, Mars and Vesta

Photo by Engin Akyurt from Pexels

  • Neptune RX conjunct Black Moon Lilith in Pisces (16°)

  • Mars in Virgo trine Vesta RX in Taurus (27°)

Neptune can expand or distort Lilith’s power. The dangerous woman can become truly magical as she creates a seductive aura of glamour and transcendent sexuality. She drifts around the rules and dissolves judgments. Open yourself up to what’s potent, forbidden and cast out .

But Neptune can also dissolve self-preservation, so it can be easy to get caught up in the illusion of power that is actually undermining behaviour. BML/Neptune can deceive others and herself- if you’re using sexuality or rule-breaking energy and there’s even a hint that you’re dabbling in something destructive, be careful: Lilith/ Neptune is not who she initially appears to be.

Mars/Vesta can keep you on the right track if you tune into precise, correct actions that are focused on maintaining security. Acting with care and keeping it clean can build something good. Remind yourself of what’s solid and focus on what you know is correct. This influence can confirm what’s sacred: the real, reliable temple you’ve built. This could be your body, your home, your routine.
