My relationship with my creative identity has been in flux for awhile now. I notice I am no longer comfortable calling myself an “astrologer”, and not because I don’t have the technical expertise of my craft, the years of experience or ability. But because this identity does not, any longer, encompass the whole of what […]

Perhaps this Leo New Moon season calls for a new glyph for the Sun – not a closed circle with a dot in the middle, but rather a labyrinth. A labyrinth has a single, unambiguous route we can follow to the center and back. We set forth in life on a walk through this labyrinth, and no matter which course we take, or how lost we sometimes feel, we’ll inevitably end up precisely where we’re meant to be.

Mercury
Aspects to Mercury continue yesterday’s influences involving the Sun and Pallas, but Mercury suggests specific details or a messenger. Mercury Rx/Pallas combines intellect and communication with a strategy or pattern, enabling you to put it into words (albeit words that are being reviewed). However, Mercury Rx/Juno is about revisiting the details of a relationship disagreement, and Mercury Rx/Neptune Rx can be about revisiting a specific fact that’s false or confusing. So putting it into words will only be the first step – you’ll have to navigate other difficulties.
If Mercury manifests as the messenger, watch for a person who triggers the above. In all cases, you’re being asked to look more closely at the details, or ask questions (about the agreement or strategy).
Note that Pallas and Juno will make an exact square on August 11th, so conflict around relationship strategies will continue until then.
Venus
Venus/Uranus hi-lights the disconnect between necessary change versus the desire for harmony. There can be an avoidance of what needs to change (or be set free) or an abrupt development that triggers an extreme imbalance. Venus rules Taurus and Libra, but these signs make an inconjunct with each other- Libra is about relating and Taurus is about self-preservation. These issues will collide, and the trick is to honour both sides.
The square to Saturn will not make that easy, but at the same time, Saturn will cut out all the non-essentials. You will probably run into a hard limit around what you want, especially regarding a relationship or what you’re trying to attract. So you won’t get distracted, because certain things will simply not be available to you. Focus on what’s left.
Along with Uranus, this can feel upsetting as you’re confronted with change while being restricted. You may feel cornered or rejected. Accept the limits and the change, then do your best to find the balance within that situation. Or, you can say “F**k it” and refuse to play ball. But it’s always helpful to try and work with the energy of the sign that’s being activated.
And now you see why Venus in Libra is not an easy energy to master. I’m not talking about being a doormat or glossing over all the problems. The real task here is to honestly find the balance between you and them. Honour yourself and the other, in whatever situation unfolds. Respect your wants while playing by Saturn’s rules and getting with Uranus’ program.
Impossible? Nope. Libra is being activated because balance is possible. But it won’t be easy.

Jupiter squares the Sun/Pallas conjunction (exact on August 7th). Jupiter expands Leo’s boldness and desire for attention. The Sun illuminates Pallas in Leo’s big strategy or showy pattern. But the square is a tense aspect, which means the surge of confidence and public display may be exaggerated. There is something worth showing off here, but make sure your problem solving is sound, and not just about what looks impressive.
Black Moon Lilith into Aquarius takes this dark lady’s outsider status to a whole new level. The disruptive woman/witch/symbol of taboo female power was always on the edge of society. In the sign of detachment and rebellion, she becomes even more separated from the collective.
Lilith truly does not care what others think of her, in this sign. Not that she ever really cared, but part of her deal is anger at being rejected for who she is (rage, actually). She’s named after Adam’s first wife who was exiled from the Garden, so there’s always the lingering pain from being kicked out of paradise. But in Aquarius, she might be able to gain a measure of detachment. Which means that her energy (if misdirected) can become quite brutal and uncaring.
BML draws people’s attention to what’s uncomfortable or forbidden, regarding women’s issues, women’s sexuality and women’s power. In Aquarius, she might rip the lid off something or express herself in bizarre ways. Having said this, she does begin this transit with a trine to socially-acceptable Venus in Libra. The gracious version of female energy (Venus) harmonizes with the no-so-gracious version, suggesting a moment where what’s unacceptable or “crazy” can be expressed in a way that others can deal with. If Lilith’s message is too unpalatable, people shut her out and she’s screaming into the void. This trine allows her energy to translate, while she gives people-pleaser Venus an edge. Independence and compromise hold hands.
Lilith exits Aquarius for Pisces on May 3rd, 2019.

Mercury Rx in Leo inconjunct Pluto Rx in Capricorn (19 deg)Neptune Rx in Pisces opposite Ceres in Virgo (15 deg)Me…

The August 11th New Moon eclipse in Leo (18 deg, 5:57 AM EDT) is a doozy.
It’s the focal point of a Yod, which means “challenges.”
The Sun and Moon conjoin in Leo , which is a new beginning that features pride, power and attention. The Big Deal. The Sun/Moon conjoin Pallas, so we include strategies, and Mercury Rx, so we also include a clarification of what the Mercury Rx cycle (reviews, delays) has been about. The Sun conjoins Mercury Rx on August 8th, which is the midpoint of the Mercury Rx cycle and (hopefully) the ray of illumination that lets you know why everything has been happening.
Mercury Rx can be a person from your past or a messenger who drops some dramatic info. This will all be part of the eclipse.
But the Yod. Well, the Sun/Moon conjunction makes an inconjunct to Pluto Rx in Capricorn and Neptune Rx in Pisces. Neptune and Pluto sextile each other, suggesting power (Pluto) with transcendent (Neptune) abilities. The mystic, the universal transformation, the magnetic dream. But when these energies are focused (via the inconjunct) onto Leo, there is the potential to lose track of the higher vibrations and attempt to dominate others or exercise power just because. It can easily go off the rails.
Neptune can undermine Leo’s pride and Pluto can intensify things to the point where it becomes an issue of pure dominance.
That’s not what this eclipse is about. Ideally, you would focus on a higher purpose (there is a higher purpose…it’s not just about you) through your creative drive and make it sing as you connected to the collective (the universal purpose).
Or, you could collapse under the weight of this challenge as you try to make it about a superficial gain or ego issue.
Jupiter in Scorpio will square this eclipse, so the new beginning will feel grand. You’ll want to put it all out there and show the world. But you have to remember it’s the point of a Yod – it won’t feel quite right if you try to just make it about the flash, the glam or the celebration. There’s more.
Note that Juno (contracts, agreements) opposes Jupiter, so this new beginning will also involve the polarity between expectations (Jupiter) versus the reality of a partnership agreement (Juno). This could be a new agreement/commitment, or a realization that a current agreement will never work. But Mercury Rx is in there, so this won’t be a brand new issue – you’ve discussed this previously.
Jupiter will trine Neptune, so there’s your hint- the spiritual/transcendent side of things will be expanded. Yes, you can take this further if you’re going in the right direction.
Under the dreamy Pisces Moon on Monday July 30, the week will be fueled with an ocean of powerful sensitivities. The course our direction is going to depend on how we choose to swim through these tumultuous waves of energy in this cosmic portal, between the recent solar eclipse and lunar eclipse. As a reminder […]
