May 12th, 2019: Double Yod

Double Yod.jpg

  • Mercury in Taurus inconjunct Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (10 deg)

  • Mercury in Taurus inconjunct Pallas Rx in Libra (11 deg)

  • Mercury in Taurus sextile Juno in Cancer (10 deg)

  • Juno in Cancer inconjunct Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (10 deg)

A double Yod happening today, featuring Mercury in Taurus. The tension between growth and safety in a relationship agreement will be featured, and discussions are liable to be slow and awkward.

Yod #1

Mercury makes an inconjunct to Ceres Rx and Pallas Rx, so Mercury is the focal point. Mercury receives two tense aspects – solid, predictable words and ideas are incompatible with the nurturing of new, expansive areas (Ceres in Sag) and relationship strategies that involve compromise (Pallas in Libra).

Stubborn, uncompromising words may block relationship growth and flexibility. Perhaps there’s a refusal to accept change. But Mercury is also the goal, so relationship flexibility must be balanced with set ideas. Find some changes that both people can agree on and commit to those changes. Stick with the plan and make it solid (Taurus).

Yod #2

Mercury and Juno make inconjuncts to Ceres. Juno in Cancer is the agreement to nurture and stay safe. Ceres in Sag is new, expansive forms of nurturing. This time, Ceres is the focal point so that drive for change will disrupt the cozy agreement (that’s supported by fixed ideas). Ceres is also the goal – keep growing together, but find a way to do it safely and slowly. Zero growth in a relationship equals stagnation, but you can do it in such a way that both parties feel secure.

The key with handling Yods is to view the inconjuncts as aspects of adjustment- adjust both sides so they can work together (this can usually be accomplished by moderating the energy at each end of the inconjunct). The focal point of the Yod is pressure point, the block and the goal – the energy of the Yod should be focused through this point.

Ceres and Pallas as both retrograde, so you’re returning to this issue. It hasn’t become any easier, but you can still work with it.

May 10th, 2019: Using the Past to Strengthen the Present

  • Taurus Sun trine the Capricorn South Node (19 deg)

Sometimes you can use the rules/traditions of the past to your advantage.

This aspect suggests tapping into previous structures and using them in a way that comes naturally. Take what’s been proven and use it to strengthen what you know- you can build up existing resources/security. The trine is such an easy aspect that the flow from past to present may be unremarkable, but that doesn’t mean it’s not significant.

This could be as simple as applying certain rules to save money or using old lessons of discipline to fortify your self-esteem. Taurus is not a complicated sign, and this does not have to be a big deal. But it is important.

The Sun also makes a sextile to the Cancer North Node – this aspect is weaker than the trine, which means the main action is between past (SN) and present (the Sun). But the future (NN) is always part of that relationship- how the past and present interact (regarding the build of something solid) can enable your exploration of new and essential emotional areas.

Get stable now so you can move into new territory with confidence.

Another way to look at this – if South to North Node is a direct path from past to future, the Taurus Sun is at the side of that path but it fits naturally with the flow. “Naturally” is the key word – everything should fit together and make sense.

May 8th, 2019: Mercury in Taurus Conjunct Uranus

  • Mercury in Taurus conjunct Uranus (3 deg)

Surprising information puts Uranus’ transit of Taurus into focus. An update to a habitual form of security, income or values is put into words, and this may connect back to April 22nd, when the Taurus Sun conjoined Uranus (and first illuminated this issue).

At that time, something grabbed your attention. Now you’re talking about it, hearing about it, or being faced with the cold, clear revelation. Uranus/Mercury is as logical as it gets – information is completely detached from sentiment or tradition. What you need to know now comes out, ready or not.

You may speak up about what’s valuable to you – what you will not compromise on. “Uncompromising” is an important theme with this aspect. You may learn about a new source of something essential. Maybe you discover the true value of something. Whatever comes out will be the absolute truth.

And the value of that is incalculable.

Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury. Transpersonal Uranus takes Mercury’s personal ideas and plugs them into the collective (or to something major that’s outside your control) – big transformations, universal upgrades, revolutions and inspiration are “translated” into a language that relates to your personal situation, via Mercury.

Immovable Opinions

Good day! In our attempt to rebuild what holds value for us, Mercury will exit from spontaneous Aries on Monday afternoon May 6, to enter stubborn Taurus. In the next three weeks, our focus moves from unstoppable to immovable with Mercury in Taurus – which can stall or slow down thoughts, communications and short travels. […]

Mercury’s Transit of Taurus (And A Voice for Lilith)

Mercury enters Taurus on May 6th at 2:25 pm EDT. Information and communication is focused on what’s real and immediate. Solid, simple ideas have value – proof is essential. Values are put into words. Don’t waste your time with complicated decisions. Keep it straightforward and start with the basics – you can build from there.

Usually this transit would indicate a slower-moving flow of information that becomes fixed. But Mercury’s upcoming conjunction to Uranus ensures that will not happen. What you planned may be turned on its head.

Mercury in Taurus’ first aspect (also on May 6th) is a sextile to Black Moon Lilith in Pisces. Newly emerging, taboo issues of female power, emancipation, victimization or sexuality are gently grounded with a few words of introduction. Lilith is a given a voice that draws attention to her, and it’s quiet (at first). But sometimes you don’t need to shout to be heard. Keep in this in mind if you want to speak about something that’s normally uncomfortable or unusual. This is one or two phrases spoken calmly, with impact.

Here are the aspects Mercury in Taurus will make:

  • May 6th: sextile Black Moon Lilith in Pisces (0 deg)

  • May 8th: conjunct Uranus (3 deg)

  • May 12th: sextile Juno in Cancer (10 deg)

  • May 12th: inconjunct Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (10 deg)

  • May 12th: inconjunct Pallas Rx in Libra (11 deg)

  • May 15th: sextile Neptune in Pisces (18 deg)

  • May 16th: trine the Capricorn South Node (19 deg)

  • May 16th: trine Saturn Rx in Capricorn (20 deg)

  • May 17th: inconjunct Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius (22 deg)

  • May 18th: trine Pluto Rx in Capricorn (23 deg)

  • May 21st: Gemini ingress

Taurus New Moon: Keep It Simple

This past week has been a week of simplification. I had several clients who presented issues they’ve been struggling with for some time. Habits they needed to change, wanted to change, but the emotional elaboration on those made them nearly irrecognisable as just that: a bad habit. Really, the only “bad” thing about bad habits […]

New Moon in Taurus

The May 4th New Moon in Taurus (14 deg) makes a wide trine to the Capricorn South Node, Saturn Rx and Pluto Rx. Solid new beginnings will be grounded in the past. Which means it’s essential that the ongoing ending of the Saturn Rx/South Node conjunction is addressed.

This New Moon suggests the first chapter in the three-part ending (Saturn will conjoin the SN three times) but it will be an indirect connection. The responsibilities, rules or definitions that you are solidifying/leaving behind (in the Capricorn area of your chart) will form the basis for a new beginning in the Taurus area of your chart. It may involve resources, values, self-esteem or your attempt to build a secure new foundation. You have to start the wrap-process process in another area of your life in order to do this. Pluto Rx ads a touch of profound transformation, reminding you that the ending is permanent (a death).

Taurus is not a fast-mover, so this new beginning will probably not be explosive. Deep commitment to ongoing results will be a theme – what begins will be long-lasting, so you want to do it right. But, there is an applying Mars/Jupiter opposition (exact on May 5th) as Mars in Gemini is challenged by Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius. This suggests big leaps, big actions or a major culmination that features exaggerated efforts.

The Sag/Gemini axis is flexible and quick, while Taurus is slow and deliberate. The contrast hints at a fast-moving result that may fuel your slowly-emerging beginning. There’s potential to push things too far/too fast, so remember to ground yourself in what you’re trying to build (there are no shortcuts).
