  • Venus in Cancer square Jupiter in Libra: 19 degrees

Connected to the Venus/Pluto opposition, this square will exaggerate the opposition’s results. If you receive something good, it will be very good. An ugly confrontation or ending will be especially intense.

Jupiter amplifies what Venus wants. The Big Love. The Big Issue that feels so personal. The whole thing will be unbalanced and possibly unfair (Libra) whether the results are happy or not. Perspective will be skewed. If you’re celebrating…congratulations. But don’t try to grab more than you’ve won. If you’re doing the opposite of celebrating, remember that this too shall pass. And this also applies if you’ve won.

August 15th, 2017: Venus in Cancer Opposite Pluto

  • Venus in Cancer opposite Pluto Rx in Capricorn: 17 degrees

The opposition is always about you and your relationship to the outside world. Even if there’s not a specific someone, if the transit activates your chart, it will stir up issues of projection, relating or competition. The opposition is also a culmination – you’ll see results, or an ending.

So that sets us up for Venus/Pluto, where love, money or self-esteem based on security needs (Cancer) is intensified and challenged by the ultimate “death” and transformation. Pluto can take away what you thought you needed most. Or, it can introduce a person/goal that you feel you absoltuely must have. Venus in Cancer makes it very personal (you could feel quite vulnerable) and the “other” becomes the key to everything- the humongous loss or the obsessive desire.

Pluto is teaching you through intensity. You were overly dependent on what was taken away (you were trying to control or cling to something). Or, what/who you want out there is a reflection of what you want to develop within yourself. Chances are, you’re projecting your issues onto someone (or they could be projecting onto you).

It all comes back to you. That’s not to say the profound love/lust/success is invalid. Yes, this opposition can bring success, especially when Venus is applying to a square with Jupiter in Libra, exact on August 17th. Sometimes the results equal a transformation for the better. Much depends on what’s led you up to this point – refer back to the November 25th, 2016 Venus/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn to see where it all began.

August 11th, 2017: Repeated Devotion

  • Mercury conjoins Vesta in Virgo : 11 degrees

Mercury unites with Vesta for a second time (the first conjunction took place on August 2nd). Mercury is slowing down in preparation for its retrograde (on August 12th) where it will back away while Vesta moves forward. Mercury Rx will not conjoin Vesta, however, after the conjunction it will station at almost the same position as Vesta (off by a few minutes). Meaning, before it turns Rx, it will “stop” close to Vesta, which is akin to underlining that one detail.

This is a powerful, repeat focus on a fact, problem or solution. Mercury/Vesta’s first conjunction took place at 7 degrees, so 7 to 11 degrees Virgo is the zone for this. This is happening just before Mercury’s Rx (review) so this is not the final solution. But it is something you need to look at, very closely, in preparation for the upcoming review.

Where does your attention need to be, right now?

Remember that Vesta is about devotion. In Virgo, mundane details and improvements (the little things) are sacred.

August 10th, 2017: Harmony and Tricky Moments

  • Sun in Leo sextile Jupiter in Libra: 18 degrees
  • Mars in Leo inconjunct Neptune in Pisces: 13 degrees
  • Mercury in Virgo sextile Venus in Cancer: 11 degrees
  • Vesta in Virgo trine Pallas in Taurus: 11 degrees

A mostly harmonious day, with a moment that might trip you up.

Sun/Jupiter is bold and optimistic – things will work out because you feel confident, and confidence will be buoyed by the sense that things will work out. Win-win. Good for attracting favourable attention. However, Mars/Neptune is a caution. For the most part, you’ll be on target, but you can stumble (via misguided actions) if you’re not paying attention. What you’ve been ignoring can weaken your efforts.

Mercury/Venus suggests sweet words that are practical and empathetic. For example, the solution that’s presented with sensitivity, or gentle advice. Excellent if you have to point out an error or deliver a critique – you can phrase it so it almost sounds like a compliment.

Meanwhile, Vesta/Pallas is about devotion to a basic solution that can be used easily and immediately. It’s not a quick fix (results will take time) but it should be easy to access and implement. Vesta picks out a specific detail or problem, and Pallas supplies the stable strategy to address it. Healing and improvements will be visible.

Aspects to Virgo help you address the problem, while aspects to Leo reassure you that it can be fixed. Just keep your eyes on Mars/Neptune – don’t ignore the questionable action.

August 5th, 2017: Transcendent Glory

  • Sun in Leo inconjunct Neptune Rx in Pisces: 13 degrees

Leo’s confidence is undermined by vague anxieties. The drive for appreciation is distorted, due to insecurities. Or, there can be attempts to escape into a dream world where everyone applauds your accomplishments (which don’t exist in real life).

As always with the inconjunct, the key is balancing both sides. This is not about pure ego, but there is a special purpose (a higher purpose). Look at what you’re creating, celebrating or displaying, and consider how you can elevate it beyond immediate gratification. Can you help someone else? Can you let go and allow the situation to develop in unexpected ways? You’re not in complete control – once the initial purpose has been established, releasing expectations can allow the full potential to shine.

There’s glory here, but not the type usually associated with Leo.

This aspect is part of the upcoming Full Moon eclipse in Aquarius.
