Jupiter/Pluto Benefits

Aspects to the Sun are empowering in a grounded, easy- to- handle way. Jupiter gently expands Virgo’s refinement, specialization and improvement. Pluto intensifies this by pinpointing a mission – there’s something specific that must be fixed or made better. A touch of obsession elevates Virgo’s mundane task or service to something extraordinary. Only the best will do.

Jupiter brings benefits in the guise of good timing (situations will go your way) or extra emotional/financial resources. Excellent for health or work matters.

These energies are further powered up by tomorrow’s exact sextile between Jupiter and Pluto.

Limited Nurturing

However, you’ll also be contending with Saturn/Ceres, which will sharply limit and define an area of nurturing. What you want from someone, or what you’re expected to give, will be blocked. This may be an exchange of services, a partnership or social situation. The give and take (Libra) will be unbalanced, and there may be resentment. Fears or rules could clamp down on loving, helping or looking after others. Not the best day to expect cuddles, and you may find that you don’t have much to give anyway. On the plus side, if you’ve been giving too much, this aspect can help you set those boundaries.

Your best bet is to concentrate on the Jupiter/Pluto action. There’s work to be done and you can elevate a practical task to something special.

Venus’ Transit of Scorpio and Venus Rx

Venus enters Scorpio on September 9th, 2018. Relationships, money, values and self-esteem will take on an intense vibe. The purpose of this intensity is to push one or more of these themes to the limit – explore what you really want (or what really matters to you) via your complete immersion in a relationship or issue.

Venus in Scorpio’s primary goal is to show you what actually makes you happy via what you share with another. This can manifest as profound intimacy or obsession. You can hit bottom by getting sucked into the shadow side of what you want, or you can uncover hidden resources (money, resiliency or your survival instinct). Scorpio’s association with profound honesty can lead to the exploration of taboos –  what do you really, really want? What do you want when no one’s judging? How do you handle being completely vulnerable? This is what lies beneath the socially acceptable facade of love, attraction or values. There’s no shame with Scorpio, although raw honesty will take you places that make you uncomfortable.

What’s darkest is most beautiful.

Venus Retrograde

Venus will station Rx in Scorpio on October 5th. Things will get even deeper and darker. This will be an inward-turning time of intense self-examination. There will be a risk of turning so far inwards that you get lost in the darkness as you flounder around in the shame, secrets or the struggle for power over another. If you want to avoid this, know that Venus Rx activates the Taurus side of Venus, which is Scorpio’s opposite sign. So during this Rx, you’ll be looking at how you can develop self-sufficiency in the most intimate relationships. How you can carve out your own values and comfort zone in the dark waters of what you’ve been trying to hide.

As usual with Venus Rx, you can encounter someone from your past or past life. Attraction will be strong but the ultimate purpose is to wrap up any leftover issues. So there’s no guarantee that this undoubtedly profound reconnection will last.

Venus Rx will briefly dip back into Libra which will represent a temporary surfacing from Scorpio’s depths. In Libra, Venus Rx will look closely at the give and take/imbalances in one or more relationships. The trigger will have been Venus’ deeper explorations in Scorpio. Perhaps the reveal of a taboo issue causes the reevaluation of a relationship or who/what you attract.

Here are the aspects Venus will make:

September 8th, 2018: The Final Shot

  • Venus in Libra square Mars in Capricorn (29 deg)
  • Uranus Rx in Taurus trine Pallas in Virgo (2 deg)

Venus/Mars

Venus and Mars square each other in the last degrees of their respective signs. This suggests relationship, financial or self-esteem issues are about to turn a corner. There’s a crisis between action and attraction – you may push too hard for what you want, or someone may pressure you.

Venus in Libra is light, flirtatious and graceful. Mars in Capricorn is serious and ambitious – maybe too serious for Venus. There’s motivation to get what’s desired (this can indicate some hot but discordant chemistry) but the balance (Libra) will be off. Success may or may not happen.

Mars is close to the degree where it stationed direct on August 27th (28 deg). So we have the added momentum of another try – you have been over this territory before (Mars Rx activated 29 deg Capricorn on August 12th). Previous delays or reviews may have increased the intensity of your motivation: this is your final shot.

The situation is about to progress as Venus enters Scorpio tomorrow (September 9th) and Mars enters Aquarius the day after. This could be the final, tense moment before an achievement or ending. If you’re striving for something or someone, know that you cannot control the other person or every detail of the outcome. You want to be the boss here, but the more you exercise your authority, the more unbalanced the situation will become. Give it your best but be wary of rigid insistence on having it all your way.

If you’re the one being pressured, remember that you can always say “No.”

Uranus/Pallas

Detailed patterns are given a hint of innovation. Uranus in Taurus’ ongoing changes to a habit or resource can invigorate practical strategies. Watch for a new twist on a solution or routine. Don’t be afraid to add a couple of extra details to an existing pattern – you could open up a whole new design.

These influences combine stability with change in a very manageable way.

September 5th, 2018: Waning Sextile and a Sticky Inconjunct

  • Waning Sextile between the Cancer Moon and Virgo Sun (12 deg)
  • Mercury in Leo inconjunct Mars in Capricorn (29 deg)

The Waning Sextile promises an opportunity. It will be quiet – a chance to upgrade and refine raw needs via facts. A chance to transition towards a new goal that’s good for you. And, you won’t have to step outside your comfort zone to do this. The transition will be small but effective.

But you’ll have to pay attention if you want to work with this. It will be so quiet that you might miss it and just stick with the old.

Adding a bit of tension, we have an inconjunct between Mercury and Mars in the last degrees of their respective signs. Big words are out of synch with disciplined actions. Actions are undermined by big words. It will be difficult to align thoughts with intent, but the activation of final degrees (and Mercury’s Virgo ingress later today) suggests this will be a brief but pointed issue. Something is being wrapped up (perhaps a project that was delayed during Mars’ retrograde). The final step could be sticky as you struggle to adjust words with motivation.

The secret to an inconjunct? Moderate both sides but keep them active. So you want to maintain that discipline and ambition, but ease off on the hammer. You want to maintain the creativity and confidence of what you’re saying, but tone down the grandiose energy.

September 4th, 2018: Venus, Vesta and Pallas

  • Venus in Libra sextle Vesta in Sagittarius (26 deg)
  • Pallas enters Virgo

Venus/Vesta

Carrying forward yesterday’s influences, Venus in harmony with Vesta suggests focus on an ideal/philosophy/area of exploration is supported by a relationship. It’s acceptable for you to be devoted to this, and it may even come off as charming. Too, this could be about the higher ideal of relationships – a new and exalted way to balance faith/exploration with what someone else wants. There’s a sense of beautiful justice as the story unfolds.

Pallas

Pallas into Virgo filters strategies through the lense of perfection. This is the extremely detailed strategy or the concise pattern that neatly connects A with B. Facts meet creativity and the goal is to find the ultimate solution.

Virgo’s purity factors into this. It’s about doing what’s best and finding the cleanest way to apply what you know. Integration is important – Pallas in this sign suggests picking out the most important details, discarding everything else and following that essential pattern which will (hopefully) create a finely-tuned system. Pallas helps you see how all the little parts fit together.

Obsessively detailed jobs will flourish under this transit, especially if they involve healing, fixing, upgrading, editing or specialised craftmanship.

Pallas will exit Virgo for Libra on November 4th, 2018.

September 3rd, 2018: A Mix Of Beautiful and Practical

  • Mercury in Leo sextile Venus in Libra (25 deg)
  • Mercury in Leo trine Vesta in Sagittarius (26 deg)
  • Mars in Capricorn trine Ceres in Virgo (28 deg)

Mercury/Venus is communication with a hint of romance or creativity. Shiny words are sweetened with the perfect touch of charm – great for sparkling conversation. The trine to Vesta suggests that a story, ideal or higher form of knowledge that you’ve been focusing on can be shared with others in the best possible way. Excellent if you’re trying to convince someone of something, or impress them with your wisdom. Also good for sharing a philosophy that you’re devoted to or telling a story. Note that this energy is focused but not intense – the vibe is bright and confident.

These are repeat aspects:

  • Jun 21st: Mercury in Leo trine Vesta Rx in Sagittarius (22 deg)
  • Jul 31st: Mercury Rx in Leo trine Vesta Rx in Sagittarius (22 deg)
  • Aug 18th: Mercury Rx in Leo sextile Venus in Libra (11 deg)

Mars/Ceres is motivated nurturing. Nurturing that means business. Focused actions drive the care and feeding of little things (no detail is missed). This is nurturing that’s aimed at getting something just right, or looking after someone for their own good. Not particularly cuddly but  extremely effective.

So today is a good mix of bright, beautiful words and down-to-earth actions (Ceres is in Mercury-ruled Virgo). Big talk is easily followed by real efforts. This brings to mind a stern but caring nurse who distracts her patient with lovely stories while she dispenses medicine.
