  • Sun in Libra opposite Chiron Rx in Aries (0 deg)

  • Mercury in Libra square Saturn in Capricorn (2 deg)

  • Mercury in Libra trine Mars in Aquarius (3 deg)

Sun/Chiron illuminates a sore spot or an area requiring unusual courage. You may be reluctant to step up because it’s socially unacceptable. You may want to avoid the issue, or the issue may be projected (it’s not really about you). But Chiron in Aries demands a confrontation. This will be a continuation of yesterday’s Mercury/Chiron opposition.

Speaking of Mercury, the square to Saturn suggests excruciating politeness. Mercury square Saturn can manifest as stiff, halting words. And when Libra is added there is a fear of saying something that’s not acceptable. This will probably be related to the Chiron opposition- if you do the wrong thing, it might hurt. There will be an imbalance between courage and social harmony. Saturn’s rules can’t be broken, but something still needs to be confronted. Libra is about taking that impossible mix and somehow finding the middle ground.

Not great for spontaneous ideas, although the trine to Mars can present an outlet, if you’re paying attention. Watch for a less obvious but still significant way to get your point across. Mars trine Mercury is about words with an easy flow of passion and force, although the shadow of Saturn will clamp down on some of that. Nonetheless, you can still speak out as long as certain rules are respected.

All of the above aspects are part of the September 24th Full Moon, and can be considered advance influences.

September 22nd, 2018: Make Room For Flaws

  • Waxing Inconjunct between the Aquarius Moon and Virgo Sun (29 deg)

  • Mercury in Libra opposite Chiron Rx in Aries (0 deg)

  • Mercury in Libra square Vesta in Capricorn (1 deg)

  • Mercury in Libra inconjunct Uranus Rx in Taurus (1 deg)

Waxing Inconjunct

The Waxing Inconjunct at the final degrees of Aquarius/Virgo brings you to a tipping point before the September 24th Aries Full Moon. There’s one more area of adjustment- something new and untested must be added to the existing details. It may be a complete oddity, but this weird little wrinkle somehow needs to be integrated with predictable, practical details.

The emphasis on final degrees (with the Sun’s move into Libra, and the Fall Equinox, later today) means this adjustment may be bigger than usual. You should feel a significant shift – a shifting of the gears.

Mercury

Mercury gets a bit of a workout with some fractious aspects. Harmonious communication will be difficult today as painful issues come up. The first impulse may be avoid what’s awkward, or even project the discomfort onto someone else. Consider the true source of what hurts and accept that (for today) the perfect thing to say doesn’t exist. You can’t gloss over the embarassment, and the square to Vesta suggests that rigid focus on socially acceptable words may actually make it worse. At the very least, you could find yourself fixating so strongly on saying the nice thing that you end up saying nothing.

Mercury/Uranus ensures that the unexpected will leak out, no matter how carefully you phrase things. You may discover something surprising and out it comes before you realize what’s happened. Or, someone may throw you a verbal curveball. This is ok – it was never going to come out neat and pretty, so just roll with it.

Note that Mercury rules the Virgo Sun (involved in the challenging inconjunct) so information and communication today will really test you. Both Libra and Virgo want things to be “just so” but it’s not happening. Discard expectations of perfection and make room for flaws, awkwardness and surprises.

  • Virgo Sun trine Juno in Taurus (28 deg)

  • Mercury in Virgo trine Juno in Taurus (28 deg)

Coming off of yesterday’s Sun/Mercury conjunction, the trines to Juno suggest that the illumination of crucial details can solidify a partnership. This is excellent energy if you want two people on the same page – the facts will mesh naturally as both parties share their practical knowledge and solutions.

This is about the quiet, easy agreement – what makes sense, what’s been proven and what works for both people. It’s not romantic, but it is reliable.

  • Sun in Virgo conjunct Mercury (28 deg)

This superior conjunction delivers a result in the context of the Sun/Mercury cycle. The previous conjunction (inferior) occured on August 8th at 16 deg Leo and was considered to be a new beginning (even though Mercury was Rx). This was the midpoint of Mercury’s Rx cycle.

Now as we arrive at the superior conjunction, there may be a culmination related to what began on August 8th. The Sun illuminates some crucial details or corrections – there will be no doubts about what’s presented. Virgo always relays the absolute facts.

This is an excellent influence if you have to communicate something practical, focus on some essential details or make a logical decision. Sun/Mercury is the ultimate clarifier, and the Sun adds power to whatever’s being said/written.

  • Mars in Aquarius square Uranus Rx in Taurus (1 deg)

Here’s the final jolt. Sudden or disruptive actions that are a break for freedom (or a radical snap that frees you from the past) are in front of you once again. This is new, but not really:

  • May 16th: Mars direct square Uranus (0 deg Taurus)

  • August 1st: Mars Rx square Uranus (2 deg Taurus)

The initial square was aligned with Uranus’ Taurus ingress (on May 15th) so the ongoing surprises have been about much more than immediate actions. The bigger issue is, what does Uranus’ transit of Taurus mean for you? What resources/habits/values are being shaken up, and why? The squares to Mars could be seen as initial manifestations – what you had to do or what you had to break away from. Today’s final square means you’ve reached one of the many turning points that Uranus in Taurus will bring.

What’s your next move?

September 17th, 2018: Vesta and Lilith

  • Vesta reenters Capricorn
  • Black Moon Lilith conjunct the Aquarius South Node (4 deg)

Vesta

Vesta first entered Capricorn on April 1, 2018. Her absolute focus was given an extra shot of absolute in this Saturn-ruled sign. You may have noticed an enhanced concern with or devotion to rules, work, status or tradition. There was no deviating from the track.

She stationed Rx on May 8th (4 deg) and reentered Sagittarius on June 13th. So the focus might have eased up at that point, as you looked back at the bigger picture.

As Vesta returns to Capricorn, it’s time to get serious again. There’s a goal or obligation that’s demanding your full attention. Perhaps a tradition you must devote yourself to. Vesta in Capricorn is about the purity of what’s always been accepted and controlled.

Lilith

As mentioned in yesterday’s post, BML conjunct the South Node adds some karmic weight to her rebellious energy. While she can truly be the outcast or awakener in this sign, the South Node suggests that a major issue is ready to be completed. This could be about the public status of the dangerous woman, or perhaps it’s time for her to step away from the role of outcast and come into the light (Leo North Node) with pride and purpose. No matter how “unacceptable” she is.

Note the contrast between these two influences; ultra- tradition versus rebellion.

September 12th, 2018: Opportunity

  • Venus in Scorpio opposite Uranus Rx in Taurus: 2 deg
  • Venus in Scorpio sextile Saturn in Capricorn: 2 deg
  • Jupiter in Scorpio sextile Pluto Rx in Capricorn: 18 deg

Venus

Venus in Scorpio interacts with the not-quite-exact Saturn/Uranus trine. Her opposition to Uranus is the shock- the disruption to what you want, or the surprising thing that you didn’t know you wanted (the electric attraction or burst of desire for something). Along the Fixed Scorpio/Taurus axis, there’s a sense of change erupting from a deep place. A reluctant but intense overhaul. The opposition indicates an ending or result and usually an external source is the trigger.

But she also makes a supportive sextile to Saturn in Capricorn, which reminds us that Saturn trine Uranus is change harmonizing with structure. New rules that are established smoothly. Add Venus to the mix and this could be an opportunity – a chance to get what you want in an unexpected way or uncover deep (Scorpio) and surprising resources. Saturn’s rules/focus/discipline will solidify this.

Uranus can be the blast of clarity into Scorpio’s shadows. The change to your existing resources/security base (Taurus) that reveals something deeper and better. Venus rules Taurus, so this is a new approach to what you already have, but you’re taking it further (or someone is pushing you to take it further). Again, these are Fixed signs, so there’s a reluctant but powerful shift.

Due to Venus’ upcoming Rx, you’ll be encountering this issue again:

  • Oct 24th: Venus Rx in Scorpio sextile Saturn in Capricorn (4 deg)
  • Oct 31st: Venus Rx in Scorpio opposite Uranus Rx in Taurus (0 deg)

Jupiter Sextile Pluto

Jupiter in any aspect to Pluto can indicate success. Jupiter expands Pluto’s power (especially in Pluto-ruled Scorpio) and Pluto intensifies Jupiter’s sense of possibility. With the gentle sextile, the potential for megalomania is diminished – this is a quiet opportunity that can be quite rich and rewarding if you work with it. It will mean taking something a bit further and intensifying your efforts but the rewards will be significant.

This is the last of three Jupiter/Pluto sextiles in Scorpio/Capricorn:

  • Jan 15th, 2018: 19 deg
  • Apr 14th, 2018: 21 deg (Jupiter Rx)
