December 14th, 2018: A Pisces Moon Day

  • Moon in Pisces sextile Saturn in Capricorn (9 deg)

  • Moon in Pisces conjunct Neptune (13 deg)

  • Moon in Pisces trine Ceres in Scorpio (14 deg)

  • Moon in Pisces conjunct Mars (18 deg)

The day begins on a sober note with a sextile between Saturn (rules, limits) and the Pisces Moon. This suggests buckling down and making a mild sacrifice or doing what needs to be done without expectation of reward. Moon/Neptune expands the energy of limitless giving or looking beyond what you know (and Moon/Ceres briefly re-activates yesterday’s unconditional Neptune/Ceres trine).

So this can be a good day to help/nurture or do something for yourself that involves restraint and spiritual exploration. There’s a sense of ascetic (Saturn) removal from indulgence which will allow you to focus on what’s pure or elevated. While Saturn in Capricorn is earthy, the Pisces influence indicates transcendence of material concerns.

The Moon/Mars conjunction can fire up an ideal, dream or spiritual/healing goal, ending the day on an energetic note. Mars in Pisces drifts outwards – you may find yourself reaching for something higher, or energizing a belief/sacrifice. You may not achieve what you originally planned, but consider alternate definitions of success.

Overall, this can be a day for accomplishment and it will probably involve spiritual, idealistic or healing matters.

December 13th, 2018: Ceres in Scorpio Trine Neptune

  • Neptune in Pisces trine Ceres in Scorpio (13 deg)

Here we have unconditional nurturing. Ceres is mother’s nurturing, and in Scorpio, it is complete and fearless. Neptune dissolves boundaries and elevates this to something that approaches transcendence or sacrifice. The ease of the trine makes it effortless.

You might be nurturing something profound within yourself (deep self-care) or looking after someone who needs your love and protection. Scorpio’s Fixed nature means the ultimate commitment while Neptune’s energy of release is a gentle reminder that nothing is permanent – Ceres is part of a larger cycle. Perhaps you are experiencing a loss/death which is also a crucial part of the cycle of nurturing. The passage from one stage to the next can happen with tenderness and devotion.

  • Waxing Sextile between the Aquarius Moon and Sagittarius Sun (20 deg)

  • Sagittarius Sun inconjunct Juno Rx in Taurus (20 deg)

  • Aquarius Moon square Juno Rx in Taurus (20 deg)

  • Mercury enters Sagittarius

Waxing Sextile

The Waxing Sextile urges you to step forward, as innovation blends with exploration and optimism. This is lively, hopeful energy – anything goes and it’s all possible. The future is wide open.

But there’s a small snag – the Sun and Moon make hard aspects to Juno Rx, which means the urge for freedom and progress will clash with a fixed relationship agreement. Taurus wants stability and this is essential for a commitment. But it’s also time for an injection of fresh potential. Juno is Rx which means the agreement is under review – what needs to change and can anything be preserved?

Mercury in Sagittarius

Mercury returns to Sagittarius. Mercury first entered this sign on October 31st, signalling new ideas and big stories. But Mercury’s Rx (on November 16th) and retreat from Sagittarius on December 1st meant there were questions about the story/promise. Now the questions have been answered and the you can look at the truth in a new light (perhaps a whole new truth).

0 to 13 deg Sag is part of Mercury’s “shadow zone” (the degrees it passed over when it was Rx) so you may be revisiting repeat issues until December 24th/25th, but there should be a sense of greater freedom and perspective. The conversation can now move forward with fresh insight.

Consider how this can be applied to any fixed/stubborn relationship issues indicated by Juno Rx. Is there a new way to continue the conversation? Can the agreement be reframed?

See this post for a complete list of Mercury’s aspects in Sag.

December 11th, 2018: Mercury in Scorpio Inconjunct Uranus

  • Mercury in Scorpio inconjunct Uranus Rx in Aries (28 deg)

Mercury in Scorpio wants to keep the secrets or look deeper as a way of gaining control, but Uranus insists that it’s time for what’s hidden to come out. This can result in impatience, anxiety or ideas that are expressed with more force than anticipated. Scorpio is a Fixed sign and Uranus in Aries insists on change, no matter what. The result can be uncompromising, verbal slaps.

As always, the key with the inconjunct is to make an adjustment that incorporates both sides. Privacy and personal boundaries must be respected but it’s also time for some open conversation. It will be difficult to say it nicely (communication will be shocking no matter how the idea is phrased) but awareness of the power of what’s being revealed can help.

What you learn or say will have a jarring impact – prepare for this.

This aspect was first encountered on December 2nd when Mercury was Rx, so you may be revisiting an issue from that date.

December 10th, 2018: Breakaway

  • Moon in Capricorn conjunct the South Node (27 deg)

  • Moon in Capricorn sextile Chiron in Pisces (27 deg)

  • Moon in Capricorn sextile Mercury in Scorpio (28 deg)

  • Moon in Capricorn square Uranus Rx in Aries (28 deg)

  • Moon Void of Course in Capricorn (28 deg at 4:26 PM EST)

  • Moon enters Aquarius and VOC ends (6:39 PM EST)

Today is a day to break with a section of your past.

The Capricorn Moon may activate some old issues as it passes over the South Node. Outdated rules, fears, limits and traditions may be triggered, but the Moon’s sextiles to Chiron and Mercury (which will briefly reactivate yesterday’s Mercury/Chiron trine) suggests there’s healing words/thoughts available. Old rules can provide structure and context for your current healing work. If you’re saying goodbye, it helps to focus on the issue and identify those boundaries.

As the Moon squares Uranus (which will be the last aspect it makes before it goes VOC) watch for an abrupt change – a prompt to update or liberate, via a disruption. If you feel the unavoidable urge to break with tradition, know that this is timely.

The Moon’s brief Void of Course will allow you to sit with the change before its Aquarius ingress. Appropriately, Aquarius is ruled by Uranus so you have a prompt to detach, experiment or step into something brand new.
