October 13th, 2019: Sun Sextile Jupiter

  • Libra Sun sextile Jupiter in Sagittarius (20°)

Here is a balanced expression of hope and wisdom. Social justice and issues of partnership right/wrong will be themes. Equitable growth and delivery of the truth is possible, but the harmony of this aspect means you’ll have to make an effort. Focus on what you know is right for both parties, and if someone is presenting you with a new perspective, keep an open mind.

This energy is socially enthusiastic and confident, and is part of today’s Full Moon. If you’re aware of this energy, it can help to balance out some of this Moon’s heaviness.

  • Libra Sun square the Capricorn South Node/Cancer North Node  (13°)

  • Jupiter in Sagittarius square Juno in Virgo (19°)

Today is a day of turning points.

Sun square the Nodes says that you have a choice in a relationship, exchange or issue that involves balance. You can stick with the old rules/ traditions or move forward to something that’s unfamiliar but more emotionally satisfying and nurturing.

This is been an ongoing issue since September 22nd when Mercury in Libra squared the Nodes and September 25th when Venus in Libra did the same. Mercury and Venus highlighted specific issues, but the Sun will act as a general spotlight and reminder that you still need to address an imbalance. The crisis of this difficult choice is your turning point.

Jupiter/Juno tells us more about this. Lofty ideals and expansion will challenge the specifics of a relationship agreement. There may be an urge to race past the tedious details, but that in itself can expose flaws and discontent in the relationship. Perhaps dwelling on the flaws is ruining the partnership’s future.

Juno was Jupiter’s wife in mythology. She remained faithful to him despite his constant philandering. So when this archetypal couple forms a hard aspect, we can also expect issues of freedom versus fidelity plus relationship right versus wrong. In this case, Juno is demanding a detailed account of the present (where are we now) while Jupiter would rather concentrate on the future.

Again, this can describe the turning point in your relationships. What is unacceptable to you- the specifics or the promises/ ideals? Is compromise possible? Whose version of the truth is “correct”?

September 24th, 2019: Relationships are Favoured

  • Mercury in Libra inconjunct Neptune RX in Pisces (16°)

  • Mercury in Libra sextile Jupiter in Sagittarius (17°)

  • Venus in Libra sextile Ceres in Sagittarius (11°)

  • Saturn in Capricorn trine Juno in Virgo (13°)

Mercury/Neptune is a caution to balance truth with sensitivity. What’s unspoken or suspected should be honored, but don’t allow it to undermine your objectivity when speaking with others. It can be easy to read too much into what you think the other person is saying. But the more dominant aspect of Mercury/Jupiter should counteract this with a shot of balanced wisdom and optimism. Overall, communication with others will be open minded and inclusive.

Venus/Ceres adds a smooth touch to all relationships. One-on-one exchanges will be nurturing but not smothering. This aspect suggests acceptance and objective empathy for all. This also has a light touch- no one is being forced to conform or stay.

For those who want reassurance, Saturn/Juno ensures the firm commitment. Juno in Virgo is the detailed agreement-nothing is overlooked and there is a shared desire to improve. Saturn nails it down with an official commitment or steadfast rules.

Overall, any one-on-one exchange is favoured today.

  • Third Quarter Square between the Gemini Moon and Virgo Sun (28 deg)

  • Jupiter in Sagittarius square Neptune Rx in Pisces (16 deg)

The 3rd Quarter Square triggers a crisis between rigid perfection versus flexible choices. The Virgo Sun offers a set way of doing things; routines and solutions are grounded in practical knowledge. The Gemini Moon raises awkward questions- suddenly there are multiple choices and more than one way of being correct. You may want to stick with what works, but it’s time to look at additional options. This is about the tension between precision and flexibility. Is what you know the final word? It might be time to question the diagnosis.

The final Jupiter/ Neptune square also occurs today. Here we have another crisis-Jupiter’s ideals and wisdom versus Neptune’s dreams. Watch for exaggerated hopes and beliefs as both Jupiter and Neptune push the limits (Neptune dissolves and Jupiter expands). You believe there’s more/better or you think you know more.

The previous two squares occurred on January 13th and June 16th, so this is not a new issue. If you’ve been wrestling with the tendency to overdo it or you’ve gotten swept away in an unrealistic belief, this final square will unveil the truth. This can also be your final test of faith.

I should add that Jupiter and Neptune in any aspect can bring a lucky shot of transcendence that lifts you up and over. So within the swirling crisis and delusion there can be a vein of gold. Pay attention to the opportunity that emerges in an unexpected way, even if the surrounding situation is stressful. What new possibilities are you perceiving? Maybe you went too far but this revealed something better. Maybe you believed the false promise but your eyes were opened to a better truth.

Look at what’s expanded in your life. And remember you’re in the Third Quarter Phase- ask those questions.

Jupiter square Neptune: The final bow under the Pisces Full Moon

One of the more significant planetary cycles of 2019 is a powerful square (90 degree) dynamic between Jupiter and Neptune.  Jupiter and Neptune are connected through their mutual rulership of the sign Pisces:  Jupiter is the traditional ruler and Neptune the modern ruler of Pisces. Jupiter and Neptune share an expansive view of the world, […]

  • Virgo Sun square Jupiter in Sagittarius (15 deg)

  • Virgo Sun trine the Capricorn South Node (15 deg)

  • Mercury in Virgo trine Pluto Rx in Capricorn (20 deg)

Sun/Jupiter (part of the mutable T-Square) can exaggerate pride/purpose in the “right” thing or tons of information. There can be over-the-top enthusiasm when it comes to getting things just so and delivering knowledge. Too, Virgo worries (what if it’s not good enough/what if something bad happens) can be triggered, because Jupiter amplifies everything.

If you find yourself overwhelmed with anxiety, self-righteousness or facts, know that the Sun’s trine to the South Node can anchor you via rules and tradition. Lean on something from the past – set boundaries that come naturally.

Mercury/Pluto will also help, as precise communication/investigation is empowered. Targeted words and thoughts can drill right through the worries and distractions. There’s power in knowing the details but also in knowing exactly when you’ve said enough – a few, carefully chosen facts are more effective than an avalanche of information.
