  • Moon in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces (17 deg)

  • Moon in Capricorn conjunct Saturn and the South Node (20 deg)

  • Moon in Capricorn conjunct Pluto Rx (23 deg)

  • Moon Void of Course in Capricorn at 3:47 pm EDT

  • Moon enters Aquarius and VOC ends (April 26th 5:27 am EDT)

The Capricorn Moon makes some heavy aspects as it crosses Saturn and the South Node – a permanent ending is highlighted, along with the need for control and strict boundaries. This is about a door closing that can never be re-opened. You may briefly revisit something from the past but ultimately you’re encouraged to move on. Watch for a reminder of responsibility.

The Moon’s sextile to Neptune won’t do much to lighten the mood- there may be a gentle reminder that compassion or sacrifice are involved but overall the energy is quite focused on what must be left behind.

The Moon’s final aspect before it goes VOC is a conjunction with Pluto Rx – the death of old traditions/structures or the part of the ending process that allows you to toss out the garbage. Pluto purges and Moon/Pluto can be seen as the purge of outdated needs and attachments.

The Moon is Void for the remainder of the day, allowing you to process the above. As the Moon enters Aquarius the next day, watch for increased clarity, detachment and lightness as you accelerate towards the future.

April 24th, 2019: Waning Trine, Sacred Words and Intensified Transformation

  • Waning Trine between the Capricorn Moon and Taurus Sun (3 deg)

  • Mercury in Aries conjunct Vesta (9 deg)

  • Pluto stations Rx in Capricorn (23 deg)

Waning Trine

The Waning Trine integrates set routines and the preservation of something (resources, security) with the ambition to make it happen. Rather than just sitting there and clinging to what you have, this energy encourages you to focus on what you want, in the future. There should be a reasonable path to follow that allows you to make it real, and a sense that others support and share your goals.

Note that the Capricorn Moon is also squaring Chiron in Aries, so there will be some bumps along the way as you confront fears and weaknesses. If this happens, stick with what you know is solid and has value.

Mercury/Vesta

Devotion to an area of passion, anger or initiative is doubled as Mercury introduces absolute words- say it and make it so. This is an uncompromising verbal or written jolt that’s given power through devotion- what sacred issue demands that you stand up and speak your mind?

Pluto Rx

Pluto retrograde is like going back over the earth you’ve already tilled bcause some weeds still remain. The process of excavation and transformation is targeted on one area where the weeds/rotten structures refuse to let go.

Ongoing transformations can be delayed. A “death” may be put on hold, but it’s temporary. The process is always thorough. Sometimes you get breathing room, and the best use of this time is to take stock of what’s changed so far. And, prepare yourself for the continuing transformations once Pluto stations direct (on Oct 30th).

Pluto will Rx back to 20 deg Capricorn, so 20 to 23 deg of the Cardinal and Earth signs are in the zone for intensified excavation. if you have anything at 23 deg exactly, you’ll experience a pause as of May 19th (roughly) but the deconstruction will pick up again as of Jan 19th, 2020.

April 23rd, 2019: Beauty and Pain

Philippe de Champaigne

Philippe de Champaigne

  • Venus conjunct Chiron in Aries (3 deg)

  • Mars in Gemini trine Pallas Rx in Libra

Venus/Chiron

When the planet of love, beauty and values unites with the Wounded Healer in Aries, we have a situation where the courage to love despite what hurts is triggered. This could be about loving yourself when you feel scared or weak. It could be about loving another despite their wounds or despite the vulnerabilities they make you aware of. It takes guts to align your values with what hurts, but that’s often the path to integrating Chiron’s pain.

Too, this can be about something you do that puts your vulnerabilities on display, and somehow others are attracted. Chiron is the maverick – magnetic and compelling. Venus in Aries adds raw attraction (not necessarily sexual). There’s beauty in being honest about fears/pain/embarrassments. The wound is fresh and that’s part of the attraction- there’s no artifice, no place to hide.

Mars/Pallas

Mars harmonizes with Pallas Rx, so the review (Rx) of social strategies can be successfully implemented (Mars) if you remain open to multiple choices. Meaning, keep it light and be ready to shift according to what the relationship or social vibe suggests. This isn’t about insisting on one way or demanding a particular response. You’re being smart as you listen to what others are saying and you respond accordingly.

April 22nd, 2019: Sun Conjunct Uranus in Taurus

  • Sun conjunct Uranus in Taurus (2 deg)

Uranus has a way of making things impersonal. When combined with the Sun, the ego is punctured with wake-up calls. This happens as the Sun energizes an existing area that’s ready to be updated/liberated.

Uranus’ transit of Taurus is redefining security, resources and values by abruptly shaking what’s been set and stagnant. This will be a long process, and the Sun’s conjunction can indicate a specific incident that gets the ball rolling or reminds you of why you need a new source of income/new habits/new expression of values.

The jolt may be quite shocking but it can help if you see that it’s not personal. Uranus is about detachment, so what’s happening is meant to push you back from what you’re most attached to. This energy is the ultimate expression of clarity – attachments are incinerated, security is forcefully removed. Why? So you can see what’s better and even more lucrative – the new source of income, the values that actually support you, the updated security that keeps you safe in the future (not the past).

If you’re the vehicle for change (you have the sudden urge to break away) embrace the upgrade! But remember that once you do this, there’s no going back. Sometimes Uranus pushes you to do things before you’ve thought of all the consequences. There’s urgency, but you don’t have to be careless.

April 21st, 2019: Tension and Growth

Jean-Léon Gérôme

  • Waning Inconjunct between the Sagittarius Moon and Taurus Sun (1 deg)

  • Mars in Gemini opposite Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (13 deg)

Some tension today, but nothing that can’t be dealt with.

The Waning Inconjunct adds another factor to be considered after the results of the April 19th Full Moon. While the Sun (newly entered into Taurus) suggests that you are trying to stabilize, the Sag Moon is a reminder that expansion must happen in another area. The tension between stability and growth will be uncomfortable, so the solution is to adjust both sides – plant your feet on the ground while reaching further in one direction.

Mars/Ceres indicates that multiple paths will be at odds with an area of expansion/learning/faith that you’re trying to nurture. It may seem as if your motivations are pulling you in every direction except the right one. But the opposition is a result, so it’s time to choose. Ceres is Rx, which means the area of nurturing is under review. You’ve here before – can you make it happen or is it time to move on?
