May 17th, 2019: Saturn Rx Square Vesta in Aries

  • Saturn Rx in Capricorn square Vesta in Aries (20 deg)

What are you focusing on? Do you feel blocked or fixated? Saturn and Vesta are both about focus, but Vesta is absolute devotion while Saturn is rules and restrictions. When the two form a crisis square, the restrictions (Saturn) on your freedom (Aries) can make the passionate urge to break away that much stronger. This is about being penned in and desperately gazing at what’s on the other side. Your sacred flame (Vesta) is being extinguished.

But is it? Saturn’s limits are always about drawing your attention to an essential matter. A new area of passion/impulse needs to be defined or needs more work. That responsibility will be a crisis, especially since Saturn is Rx – you’re revisiting this. Do you have to try harder? If it’s truly sacred, it can’t be extinguished. Vesta thrives on limits and the tension challenges you to burn brighter. Just make sure that you’re not so focused on breaking away that you forget about your responsibilities.

  • Waxing Inconjunct between the Libra Moon and Taurus Sun (25 deg)

  • Mercury in Taurus trine Capricorn South Node (19 deg) and Saturn Rx in Capricorn (20 deg)

The Waxing Inconjunct can trigger moments of frustration as you realize that it’s not all about you. Your primary focus on self (money, security or values) will be interrupted by the requirement to balance this with someone else’s needs. You’re not forgetting about you, but now is the time for a bit of compromise.

Mercury’s trines will keep the conversation or plans firmly fixed on existing rules and responsibilities. Yes, you want to move on from the past, but some obligations are necessary to keep your focus in line with what matters – what’s real and reliable. This can mark the harmonious conclusion of an official plan, the signing of a document, a commitment or your firm understanding of what needs to be said. Perhaps you’re communicating your boundaries. Too, memories can be reassuring as they draw your attention to what you’ve built.

Mercury is also making a sextile to the Cancer North Node, so what you say or define from the past will give you a structured view of the future.

  • Waxing Trine between the Virgo Moon and Taurus Sun (23 deg)

  • Venus in Aries sextile Mars in Gemini (28 deg)

Today should be a basically harmonious day. The Waxing Trine helps you integrate improvements into what’s already been established. Just because it’s steady doesn’t mean it can’t stand a bit of refining. This energy enables the application of a few tweaks to what’s already working, so it can work even better.

Taurus is ruled by Venus and Venus’ sextile to Mars supports what’s happening with a gentle resonance between actions and what you want. Make a choice (Gemini) but do it lightly- assert your information/facts (lightly) and watch it as it manifests what you want (Venus). Venus/Mars is light, quick energy so you’re not insisting on anything. One little push is all it takes. But the Waxing Trine in the Earth signs says this can result in something real.

The Venus/Mars connection can be flirtatious and a bit cheeky – Mars in Gemini is assertive teasing or verbal challenges, and Venus in Aries likes this (it’s hot). But what starts off as a spark can solidify into something more, via the Waxing Trine.

May 13th, 2019: A Reason to be Confident

  • Taurus Sun inconjunct Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius (22 deg)

  • Taurus Sun trine Pluto Rx in Capricorn (23 deg)

Sun trine Pluto is power expressed in an easy way. It can be accessed naturally and influence (over others) can be expressed smoothly. f you tap into the destruction and redefinition of rules/commitments, you can tap into something truthful that lies beneath the surface. This evolution will fuel your confidence, purpose and ability to manifest security.

This is the power of death, rebirth and growth.

But the Sun does make an awkward inconjunct to Jupiter (optimism), so there will be a spot of exaggeration arising from lack of confidence. Fear of the big change? An issue of faith/expansion is incompatible with what’s established but transforming. You may overcompensate and push for too much, or try to dominate others. Loss of perspective is a possibility, so be aware of your foundation and the promising opportunities ahead. Try to balance them and know that you have reason to be confident.

Pluto and Jupiter are retrograde, so this is an issue you’re returning to. Maybe it’s a second chance.

May 12th, 2019: Double Yod

Double Yod.jpg

  • Mercury in Taurus inconjunct Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (10 deg)

  • Mercury in Taurus inconjunct Pallas Rx in Libra (11 deg)

  • Mercury in Taurus sextile Juno in Cancer (10 deg)

  • Juno in Cancer inconjunct Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (10 deg)

A double Yod happening today, featuring Mercury in Taurus. The tension between growth and safety in a relationship agreement will be featured, and discussions are liable to be slow and awkward.

Yod #1

Mercury makes an inconjunct to Ceres Rx and Pallas Rx, so Mercury is the focal point. Mercury receives two tense aspects – solid, predictable words and ideas are incompatible with the nurturing of new, expansive areas (Ceres in Sag) and relationship strategies that involve compromise (Pallas in Libra).

Stubborn, uncompromising words may block relationship growth and flexibility. Perhaps there’s a refusal to accept change. But Mercury is also the goal, so relationship flexibility must be balanced with set ideas. Find some changes that both people can agree on and commit to those changes. Stick with the plan and make it solid (Taurus).

Yod #2

Mercury and Juno make inconjuncts to Ceres. Juno in Cancer is the agreement to nurture and stay safe. Ceres in Sag is new, expansive forms of nurturing. This time, Ceres is the focal point so that drive for change will disrupt the cozy agreement (that’s supported by fixed ideas). Ceres is also the goal – keep growing together, but find a way to do it safely and slowly. Zero growth in a relationship equals stagnation, but you can do it in such a way that both parties feel secure.

The key with handling Yods is to view the inconjuncts as aspects of adjustment- adjust both sides so they can work together (this can usually be accomplished by moderating the energy at each end of the inconjunct). The focal point of the Yod is pressure point, the block and the goal – the energy of the Yod should be focused through this point.

Ceres and Pallas as both retrograde, so you’re returning to this issue. It hasn’t become any easier, but you can still work with it.
