Venus’ Transit of Gemini

Venus enters Gemini on June 8th. Relationships, money and values become more flexible as multiple choices and various layers appear. This is about considering Plan B or the alternative regarding what you want.

At the same time, communication and new information become important for making connections. This is the time to reach out and charm others (or be charmed). What you want/love can be fun or unstable, depending on how you handle this mutable energy. Conversations can be flirtatious and cute, facts can be amusing, distracting or valuable. Again, much depends on what you do with the multiple choices presented to you. Sometimes the value is in the variety – sometimes you need to see what else is available to appreciate what you have, or to understand that you want something different.

This is the transit that allows you to check out what’s intriguing without committing. You can say “Yes” without saying “Forever.” It’s also good for detaching yourself from what you want and approaching it from an intellectual angle. This can be helpful if you’ve become so caught up in the desire that you’ve lost sight of the facts. There’s always more and different – you are never stuck. This transit shows you how.

Here are the aspects Venus in Gemini will make:

  • Jun 12th: opposite Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (4 deg)

  • Jun 12th: square Black Moon Lilith in Pisces (4 deg)

  • Jun 13th: sextle Chiron in Aries (5 deg)

  • Jun 18th: trine Pallas in Libra (11 deg)

  • Jun 23rd: opposite Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius (17 deg)

  • June 23rd: inconjunct Saturn Rx in Capricorn (18 deg)

  • Jun 24th: square Neptune Rx in Pisces (18 deg)

  • Jun 27th: inconjunct Pluto Rx in Capricorn (22 deg)

  • Jul 3rd: Cancer ingress

Mercury’s Transit of Cancer: Speaking When You’re Vulnerable

Mercury enters Cancer on June 4th, giving all communication and information a very personal spin. Cancer is the sign of home, family (especially mother/child) needs and inner security. Words will be subjective and may make you feel vulnerable. On the other hand, this is the transit to say what you really feel; empathy, neediness and protectiveness can be communicated.

Mercury in Cancer is able to communicate ideas in a way that everyone feels – everyone can connect with the message because it will resonate with them on a personal level, whether or not it’s targeted at them. So this can be a good time to (carefully) make your message public if you want to reach a wide audience on a gut level. At the same time, be aware that what you hear may or may not be meant to hit you in your soft spot. Even if it sounds like it’s all about your mother/past/inner child, you may just be resonating with the overall vibe.

Think before you respond- Mercury is a Cardinal sign and impulse (hurt, sadness, fear, possessiveness) can trigger emotional responses that say more than you counted on. This is the flood of words that rips off the bandage from the past and exposes your most private issues – this is fine if you’re ready to be verbally naked.

Mercury will exit this sign for Leo on June 26th, but will return to Cancer on July 19th, due to its retrograde. I’ll write about the Rx details during Mercury’s Leo transit, but know that Mercury Rx will reactivate 29 to 23 deg Cancer – questions about the impulsive words or a second look at how feelings and intellect line up will be featured at these degrees.

Here are the aspects Mercury in Cancer will make:

  • Jun 6th: trine Black Moon Lilith in Pisces (3 deg)

  • Jun 7th: sextile Uranus in Taurus (4 deg)

  • Jun 7th: inconjunct Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (5 deg)

  • Jun 7th: square Chiron in Aries (5 deg)

  • Jun 10th: square Pallas in Libra (10 deg)

  • Jun 15th: conjunct the North Node (17 deg)

  • Jun 16th: trine Neptune in Pisces (18 deg)

  • Jun 16th: inconjunct Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius (18 deg)

  • Jun 16th: opposite Saturn Rx in Capricorn (18 deg)

  • Jun 18th: conjunct Mars (21 deg)

  • Jun 19th: opposite Pluto Rx in Capricorn (22 deg)

  • Jun 26th: Leo ingress

Gemini Season

Gemini season begins on May 21st with the Sun’s ingress at 3:59 am EDT.

This is the season of choices, duality and fast-moving information. Nothing is straightforward because there is always another layer. Gemini is the storyteller, the juggler, the trickster. But Gemini also illuminates new information and alternative paths. If you thought you were stuck, this energy can reveal your way out.

Gemini reminds that everything has another side. Look for the “yes, but…”

Mercury (Gemini’s ruler) also enters this sign today and forms a superior conjunction with the Sun at 0 deg. In the Sun/Mercury cycle, this is the “Full Moon” or result. It tells us that this Gemini season will be about a key piece of info or a messenger that reveals more questions/options/layers. The result may be connected to the previous Sun/Mercury conjunction on March 14th at 24 deg Pisces, when Mercury was Rx.

Here are the aspects the Sun in Gemini will make:

  • May 21st: conjunction with Mercury (0 deg)

  • May 23rd: square Black Moon Lilith (2 deg Pisces)

  • May 26th: sextile to Chiron in Aries (5 deg)

  • May 28th: opposite Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (7 deg)

  • May 31st: trine Pallas in Libra (10 deg)

  • Jun 3rd: New Moon (12 deg Gemini)

  • Jun 9th: square Neptune in Pisces (18 deg)

  • Jun 10th: inconjunct Saturn Rx in Capricorn (19 deg)

  • Jun 10th: opposite Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius (19 deg)

  • Jun 13th: inconjunct Pluto Rx in Capricorn ( 22 deg)

  • Jun 17th: Full Moon (25 deg Sagittarius)

  • Jun 21st: Cancer ingress

Mercury’s Transit of Gemini: Think Fast

Mercury enters Gemini on May 21st. Gemini increases the amount of information that’s exchanged due to the speed and ability to understand the duality of all situations. Mercury is strong in the sign it rules, so all words and ideas have an edge.

Messages will be quick and sharp (Mercury in Gemini has a mischievous side due to increased curiosity). If you receive a compliment, assurance or answer, you may wonder if you detect a smirk or a light bit of teasing. If you think there’s more to it, there probably is- Mercury in Gemini often has a double message.

This transits asks “What would happen if…?” This is not sentimental energy- it’s bright, light, edgy and witty.

Not everything you hear will be solid. Some of it will be conjecture. Some of it will be half-truths. You’ll need to sift through the sound bites and discern which facts are keepers. Be prepared to think on your toes and don’t blindly accept everything you learn.

Ask questions.

Here are the aspects Mercury in Gemini will make:

  • May 21st: conjunction with the Sun (0 deg)

  • May 22nd: square Black Moon Lilith (2 deg Pisces)

  • May 25th: opposite Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (8 deg)

Mars’ Transit of Cancer, May 15th: It’s Personal

Photo by Daria Shevtsova from Pexels

Mars into Cancer coincides with Venus’ Taurus ingress, continuing the (separating) sextile between them. Mars in Cancer is nurturing, moody, protective actions with a domestic edge – family first, even if you’re not fully aware of how family motivates you. As Mars continues to harmonize with Venus (until May 18th) nurturing actions can net you solid evidence (Taurus) of what you want.

Mars in Cancer acts instinctively – emotion trumps logic and motivations are passionate and somewhat childlike. Cancer takes everything personally, so this transit can be quite volatile. If someone loses their temper you can bet it’s because they feel they’ve been attacked on a personal level.

Anger, arousal or initiative are based on primary needs, or the fear that those needs are being denied. Never forget that Cancer is a Cardinal sign, so there can be outbursts of anger or strength when you least expect it. There can also be assertiveness based on the need to remain safe. This is the grip that tightens when you try to pull away – the ferocious hug or the aggressive mother/child.

During this transit, consider the most personal trigger for your motivations. It’s ok if you act on something because of how it makes you feel (comfortable or uncomfortable). You don’t need to explain this to anyone, but self-awareness is helpful (so you don’t become the rampaging child).

Here are the aspects Mars in Cancer will make:

  • May 18th: trine Black Moon Lilith in Pisces (1 deg)

  • May 22nd: sextile Uranus in Taurus (4 deg)

  • May 23rd: square Chiron in Aries (5 deg)

  • May 27th: inconjunct Ceres in Sagittarius (7 deg)

  • Jun 1st: square Pallas in Libra (10 deg)

  • Jun 12th: conjunct North Node (17 deg)

  • Jun 14th: trine Neptune in Pisces (18 deg)

  • Jun 14th: opposite Saturn Rx in Capricorn (18 deg)

  • Jun 14th: inconjunct Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius (18 deg)

  • Jun 18th: conjunct Mercury (21 deg)

  • Jun 19th: opposite Pluto Rx in Capricorn (22 deg)

  • Jul 1st: Leo ingress

Venus’ Transit of Taurus, May 15th: What Do You Want?

Jan Jansz van de Velde

Jan Jansz van de Velde

Building on yesterday’s Venus/Mars connection, Venus moves into Taurus which harmonizes with Mars’ same-day ingress into Cancer. While they won’t be making an exact aspect any more, they are still close enough to play nice with each other until May 18th.

Venus is strong in the sign she rules, which means solid, physical evidence of what you want/love. Values, money and relationships are expressed through subjective survival instincts and a “what’s in it for me?” approach. This transit can help you determine what has genuine value and how you can treat yourself on a tangible level. Selfish can be good when you look out for yourself and tune into what /who really makes you happy and secure. “Secure” is the key word – Venus in Taurus has no time for anything that’s unsafe or unproven. And, it must have growth potential – this is a fertile sign.

The “not quite” sextile to Mars in Cancer suggests that nurturing actions will enable personal growth, necessary indulgence and a recognition of what you really want. Venus in Taurus is one of the most sensual tranists, and it doesn’t have to be complicated. Focus on what feels/smells/tastes good without questioning it. If you like it and no one else does, who cares? This transit is about what makes you happy on a tangible level. Can you get more of it? Even better.

Having said this, Venus’ conjunction with Uranus will have some surprises – more on that in the daily post or you can read my Patreon post about this yearly conjunction.

  • May 16th: sextile Black Moon Lilith in Pisces (1 deg)

Mercury’s Transit of Taurus (And A Voice for Lilith)

Photo by Luis Quintero from Pexels

Mercury enters Taurus on May 6th at 2:25 pm EDT. Information and communication is focused on what’s real and immediate. Solid, simple ideas have value – proof is essential. Values are put into words. Don’t waste your time with complicated decisions. Keep it straightforward and start with the basics – you can build from there.

Usually this transit would indicate a slower-moving flow of information that becomes fixed. But Mercury’s upcoming conjunction to Uranus ensures that will not happen. What you planned may be turned on its head.

Mercury in Taurus’ first aspect (also on May 6th) is a sextile to Black Moon Lilith in Pisces. Newly emerging, taboo issues of female power, emancipation, victimization or sexuality are gently grounded with a few words of introduction. Lilith is a given a voice that draws attention to her, and it’s quiet (at first). But sometimes you don’t need to shout to be heard. Keep in this in mind if you want to speak about something that’s normally uncomfortable or unusual. This is one or two phrases spoken calmly, with impact.

Here are the aspects Mercury in Taurus will make:

  • May 6th: sextile Black Moon Lilith in Pisces (0 deg)

  • May 8th: conjunct Uranus (3 deg)

  • May 12th: sextile Juno in Cancer (10 deg)

  • May 12th: inconjunct Ceres Rx in Sagittarius (10 deg)

  • May 12th: inconjunct Pallas Rx in Libra (11 deg)

  • May 15th: sextile Neptune in Pisces (18 deg)

  • May 16th: trine the Capricorn South Node (19 deg)

  • May 16th: trine Saturn Rx in Capricorn (20 deg)

  • May 17th: inconjunct Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius (22 deg)

  • May 18th: trine Pluto Rx in Capricorn (23 deg)

  • May 21st: Gemini ingress
