The cycle of nurturing, loss and rebirth unfolds gently. Ceres is named after the crop goddess whose daughter (Persephone) was taken by Pluto, King of the Underworld. While Persephone was below ground, Ceres mourned and the crops did not grow. Eventually, she struck a deal with Pluto and Persephone was allowed to spend part of the year above ground with her mother. During this time, the crops grew.
Therefore, Ceres is not only about nurturing, but also the seasonal ebb and flow of bounty and loss. In Virgo, the process of the harvest is emphasized, along with the need to select what you’ll continue to nurture and what must be set aside. Certain habits or situations won’t make the cut.
In harmonious aspect to Pluto, we see a gentle integration of loss and nurturing. Something must be released in order to make room for future growth and security, and it won’t be a surprise. There is no improvement/healing (Virgo) without an ending, and in this case, it could be empowering.
In the Earth signs, this cycle could manifest in a concrete way, perhaps involving diet, health, physical appearance or physical structures. The nurturing of an upgrade/fix (Virgo) is empowered (Pluto) by the process of selective endings or refinement. You won’t have to guess what needs to be removed: the trine ensures that it will happen naturally.
For example, if you’ve ever quit smoking or overhauled your diet/exercise routine you understand the power of letting something go. Any ending is a “death” of sorts.
This aspect is part of the Grand Earth Trine with Juno in Taurus, described in this week’s horoscopes.

Jupiter squares the Sun/Pallas conjunction (exact on August 7th). Jupiter expands Leo’s boldness and desire for attention. The Sun illuminates Pallas in Leo’s big strategy or showy pattern. But the square is a tense aspect, which means the surge of confidence and public display may be exaggerated. There is something worth showing off here, but make sure your problem solving is sound, and not just about what looks impressive.
Black Moon Lilith into Aquarius takes this dark lady’s outsider status to a whole new level. The disruptive woman/witch/symbol of taboo female power was always on the edge of society. In the sign of detachment and rebellion, she becomes even more separated from the collective.
Lilith truly does not care what others think of her, in this sign. Not that she ever really cared, but part of her deal is anger at being rejected for who she is (rage, actually). She’s named after Adam’s first wife who was exiled from the Garden, so there’s always the lingering pain from being kicked out of paradise. But in Aquarius, she might be able to gain a measure of detachment. Which means that her energy (if misdirected) can become quite brutal and uncaring.
BML draws people’s attention to what’s uncomfortable or forbidden, regarding women’s issues, women’s sexuality and women’s power. In Aquarius, she might rip the lid off something or express herself in bizarre ways. Having said this, she does begin this transit with a trine to socially-acceptable Venus in Libra. The gracious version of female energy (Venus) harmonizes with the no-so-gracious version, suggesting a moment where what’s unacceptable or “crazy” can be expressed in a way that others can deal with. If Lilith’s message is too unpalatable, people shut her out and she’s screaming into the void. This trine allows her energy to translate, while she gives people-pleaser Venus an edge. Independence and compromise hold hands.
Lilith exits Aquarius for Pisces on May 3rd, 2019.

Mars makes the second of three squares to Uranus. The disruption or break for freedom is not over. Despite the flash-bang quality of this energy, this is an extended influence. It’s about detaching from the past, but that detachment may require more than the usual amount of effort.
Mars Rx specifically means try again or review your actions. What are your true motivations and where are you going? If you’re refusing to change, this Rx could be the harder shake – the jolt that you’ve been trying to avoid. Or, it could be the second chance that you’ve been waiting for.
As I wrote in this post:
“The abrupt shove will introduce Uranus’ seven years of change in Taurus…Mars Rx in Aquarius intensifies specific actions so the move towards independence can happen (sometimes it takes extra effort to break away from the past). Or, Mars Rx can delay actions/progress if the impulse is poorly timed.”
Here are the three squares:
Vesta direct can widen Vesta Rx’s tunnel vision. If you’ve been fixated on a truth, ideal or hope since Vesta stationed Rx (May 8th, 2018) her direct motion suggests you may be ready to look further. What has Vesta Rx taught you? Has your faith been renewed or are you now disappointed? Either way, it’s time to move on because Sagittarius’ horizons are always widening. Keep searching for new truths, new ideals. Expanding faith will feed Vesta’s flame.
With direct and Rx emphasized on the same day, you may feel the tension between looking forward but dealing with delays/reviews. Everything does not always move in the same direction. You can deal with this by looking ahead where it feels natural to do so, and accepting that the wheels are spinning in another part of your life. Know that in a few weeks (once Mars stations direct) there will be progress here too.
