Love Horoscope for the Week of December 10

For the most part, the romance front ought to be operating relatively smoothly this week. In large part, this is due to two major aspects that aren’t even exact this week.

At the front end of the week, we are still under the influence of Mars conjunct Neptune. Although this aspect comes with some potential for mishap (like trying to pick the wrong fight at the wrong time with the wrong person) for the most part Mars conjunct Neptune makes for an advanced case of the warm and fuzzies. It can give you a wonderful opportunity to start a new relationship or to peacefully invest in an existing one.

The influence of that aspect fades as we approach the end of the week, but another important Mars aspect approaches then. Mars sextile Pluto fuels your ambition and makes it easier to get things done. Since Mars also rules the sex-drive, you and those around you will probably be feeling a little more pumped up that way too. Mars is isn’t usually thought of as a “peacemaker,” but let’s be honest: sometimes within the context of a sexual relationship, the best peace treaties are signed between the sheets.

No matter what you intend to do with (or to) others, be cautious how you communicate your intent. Although Mercury retrograde is now over, it is still in what is called “the shadow period,” which means it is still regaining the ground but it lost during the retrograde. That doesn’t make communications and short trips and agreements as wonky as it was during the actual retrograde, but caution needs to be applied. That’s important because on Wednesday, Mercury enters Sagittarius. This isn’t a very good sign for Mercury to be in, and to be honest with you: it’s a lot better for cracking potentially insensitive jokes than it for for clearly thought-out conversation.

The biggest aspect influencing your affections this week arrives on Sunday. Love can be a wild and hard to tame beast, but Venus sextile Saturn provides ample opportunity to both find and maintain love in a more sensible and sustainable manner. If there has been a rough patch with someone close to you, this is a good time for you to be the peacemaker (whether you were in the wrong in the first place or not). And if at the moment your love life is nothing to write home about? Now is the time to re-evaluate your approach to finding That Certain Someone.
