First of all, let’s address the elephant in the room: this is the last full week of Saturn in Sagittarius. It’s not normally within the scope of my job here to discuss major activity by the outer planets, unless it involves a transit from one of the inner ones. That’s simply the nature of a weekly forecast.
This week, however, there is a particular emphasis on Saturn in the minds of many. I just wanted to remind you all that before Saturn enters Capricorn on the 20th, it’s still going to be within range of the square to Chiron. What this means is that (all else being equal) the bumps and jolts of daily life interacting with other human beings are more likely to generate or uncover emotional pain right now. Please, people: let us treat each other with gentleness, kindness, and understanding. You need that sort of thing as much as I do, and there might be a short supply of it this week. And pay close attention if you have any important placements late in the Mutable Signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces), because I’m talking to you in particular.
Big transits like Saturn square Chiron usually need a smaller transit to act as a trigger, and this week’s culprit is Mercury. Mercury is going to be doing some potentially very funky things this week, and it’s still retrograde. Any Mercury retrograde can make for difficult communications or unintended consequences from them, but this time Mercury is within conjunction range of Saturn, and on Monday it makes the exact square to Chiron.
What’s really unfortunate about all this is that Saturn and Chiron are screwing up what could otherwise be a couple of pretty decent transits Mercury is getting. On Tuesday, Sun conjunct Mercury is often good for getting big ideas, but isn’t so great with the execution.
Mercury conjunct Venus on Friday would normally be a great time to come up with some sweet words to charm someone with, or just generally do things in a more creative manner. That’s still possible of course, provided you keep in mind all of the cautions I’ve just given you. Mercury conjunct Venus could lead you to write a particularly good love letter… or a sharply-phrased diss track. Use your powers wisely! At least with Sun trine Uranus on Saturday, everyone will be feeling pretty good about themselves while they’re running around stepping on other people’s emotional toes. Moon in Sagittarius Saturday and Sunday can be prone to that kind of clumsiness.
