Some weeks, the forecast is a matter of telling you what to take advantage of, and some weeks it’s just a warning about the potential pitfalls. This week, it’s mostly warnings. We will return to your regularly-scheduled Boundless Optimism next week. Honest!
The week begins with strong but potentially confused motivations, as Mars makes the conjunction with Neptune in Pisces on Monday and remains square to Saturn in Sagittarius. Remember: it may be a bad idea to leap without looking, but this is one of those weeks when you should look a few times first… and then maybe not leap anyway. Please focus your drives and aggression accurately.
Making sound judgments and sticking to schedules and all those things that make your work week hum along normally might be particularly difficult. Both Mercury and Venus in Aquarius are within opposition range to Jupiter in Leo throughout the week. This was probably a good week to take off from work, but in the event you are stuck at work like everyone else, try to stay focused. Or, at least, try not to let the boss catch you goofing off. Oppositions to Jupiter often bring conflicts with authority figures.
There is a New Moon at the beginning of Aquarius on Tuesday. New Moons are always a good time to work out your intentions for the following month, and with this one being a “Supermoon” in Aquarius, it might be particularly well-suited to making radical changes, if that’s what you need in your life.
On Wednesday, Mercury turns retrograde. If you’ve followed astrology for long, you know that between now and February 10 is technically going to be a bad time for your communications and agreements and such. No need to panic, but a little extra attention to crossing your T’s and dotting your I’s is definitely a good idea. Even people who write for a living should be especially cautious of how they use their apostrophes.
The romantic mood for the weekend is a bit mixed and a bit befuddling. Venus is wandering through the last few degrees of Aquarius and isn’t really in much contact with any of other planets. By the end of the week, Mars is out of the woods as far as that Saturn and Neptune business, but even at the best of times Mars in Pisces can have issues with clear judgment, especially now when it is approaching the sextile with Pluto and doesn’t want to have to think too hard before it acts. This could be a problem, as the Moon spends Saturday and Sunday in Aries… not a placement known for its calm and rational deliberation skills either. Your heart, your wallet, and your car may all require their own designated drivers.
