This is the time of year when television is usually filled with shows looking back on “the year that was.” What I always find interesting about those shows is that they tend to skip over the stories (especially those from earlier in the year) that everyone was in a tailspin about at the time. Remember those planned terrorist attacks that were going to destroy the Sochi Olympics? Yeah, neither do I. Come to think of it, what were the Sochi Olympics anyway?
We should all keep this in mind as we consider that Saturn has freshly entered into Sagittarius. The next three years will not be a complete disaster for all Sagittarians, any more than they will be a perfect delight for Scorpios now that Saturn is out of their Sign. Overall, though, the Mutable Signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) are going to be feeling the tension a bit more than most.
But: relax, folks. When it comes to the year ahead, don’t focus on all the big scary stuff. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other, or in this case, keep taking your transits one week at a time. And this last week/first week of the year should give us all something to celebrate, be thankful for, or at least give us an opportunity to blow off some steam.
The last three days of 2014 and the first few days of 2015 are dominated by Mars in Aquarius opposite Jupiter in Leo. This is likely to create a lot of energy and exuberance for both making big changes and having a good time. “Having a good time” is what New Year’s Eve is supposed to be all about, but with Saturn in square range of Neptune (an aspect that will be in effect for a few months), this could be a time with greater than average consequences for reckless behavior, so (both literally and figuratively) have a designated driver.
If you have any energy left over for socializing and/or dating on the weekend, Venus enters Aquarius on Saturday. Admittedly, Aquarius does not have the reputation for being the most romantic of places for Venus to be in, but it brings its own form of kindness and compassion that can make for an excellent change of pace from Venus in Capricorn’s more serious, somewhat calculated approach to love. This is a Venus that responds well to new and exciting situations, so why not come up with one of those for someone you care about — or perhaps find someone new and exciting?
The week ends with a Full Moon in Cancer on Sunday. Moon in Cancer is usually a little touchy at the best of times, but when it’s opposite Pluto, the potential for emotional blowups will be approximately double. Play nicely with each other, okay?
