Love Horoscope for the Week of September 15

weeklyloveThe big planetary players this week are Mars, freshly entered into Sagittarius and looking for broad new fields to conquer, and Saturn. Mars, literally or figuratively, is all about the “conquests.” Saturn is much more about Command and Control. While Mars is bounding through the open fields of Sagittarius, Saturn remains in somewhat-suspicious Scorpio. And that’s perfectly okay. These two very different planets being into very different Signs can add up to a sensibly balanced approach to life. If it weren’t for the drive that Mars gives us, our ancestors would’ve stayed in the trees. Of course, if it weren’t for the conservative nature of Saturn, the moment those ancestors left the trees, they would’ve all been eaten by the nearest Sabertooth Tiger. It may take a particular combination of cunning and caution to get the best results from this week, but if you’re aware of your timing and circumstances, there can be great results to be had.

The Moon spends most of the week passing through what are called “the interpersonal Signs,” and that can make for a particular emphasis on communicating and relating. Communicating is Mercury’s job, and although he has a way with words in Libra, he’s also entering what’s called “the shadow period” of the upcoming Mercury Retrograde in October. Thus, a little extra caution with your love letters, demands for a raise, and angry letters to the Editor is called for.

Thursday, the Moon is Void of Course for the better part of the day in Cancer. This will be an excellent opportunity to loaf and possibly lick your wounds, but no new emotional initiatives are recommended.

As the weekend approaches, Venus in Virgo draws towards the sextile with Saturn. That makes for a double dose of “sensible” when it comes to your love life. Yes, I know, “sensible” doesn’t sound like the basis for a decent romantic comedy. “Sensible” is a good thing to have around when Mars is square Neptune as it will be this weekend. Mars square Neptune brings out powerful longings, misplaced aggression and drives, and potentially a lot of confusion. Under the right circumstances though it can make for a good time, so just make sure you have a Designated Driver, figuratively or literally.

Mars square Neptune comes to a peak on Sunday, although we will certainly be feeling the effects on Saturday night, or “date night” as I like to think of it. Sunday itself is particularly emotionally charged with the Moon making aspects to Saturn, Mars and Neptune, and ending with the exact Mars-Neptune square. Don’t let your emotions get the best of you.
