Happy Leo season everyone! The Sun has had enough of that quiet kind of introspection Cancer does so well, and on Tuesday it enters the sign of the Lion. This (in and of itself) is not an immediate guarantee of good times for everyone, but you will probably notice a shift in the general mood among those around you, and it’s a shift you’ve probably needed. There should be a little more light-heartedness in general, and oh yes… a few more bruised egos.
As a Fire sign, Leo has a bit of a reputation for speaking its mind about things, perhaps sometimes unwisely. Mercury opposite Pluto in the early part of the week will also contribute to that. Yes, I know: you’ve got plenty of frustrations to vent… but please, let’s be careful about who you vent to, what you vent about, and how much ferocity you put into it. Yes, you probably have a legitimate gripe to speak about, but let’s remember that a little salesmanship never heard anyone, okay? Again, remember: your have an ego too, and you could be the one making a mountain out of a mole hill.
Throughout the week, Venus is trine Neptune, with the aspect reaching exact on Thursday. Despite all the talk about Fire and Lions, that’s a pretty sweet aspect. It’s also a good time to lose your head over a relationship, real or imagined, and possibly a time to be a little unrealistic about your personal resources. Remember: trading your family’s last cow for handful of magic beans only works in fairy tales.
In general, check your math and proofread that love sonnet/resignation letter before you send it. Mercury is also trine Saturn but square Uranus this week, and that aspect reaches the exact degree on Thursday too. That’s an unusual combination — both precise and erratic. You may find exactly the right words, but will you still mean it tomorrow?
On Friday, Mars finally enters Scorpio after spending entirely too long in Libra. If you found the last nine months or so to be a source of agitation because of Mars in Libra, don’t expect immediate miraculous results; for the next few days, Mars will be square Jupiter. Nonetheless: rest assured that with Mars changing signs, you will probably find the drive to make some much-needed changes in your life.
Saturday is the New Moon in Leo. New Moons are always a chance for us to start over and remind ourselves that there is always hope for a new beginning of some sort if we put our minds to it. And of course, Leo is here to remind us that we can do these things in style. Given that Saturdays are traditionally Date Night, and that on Saturday the Moon will also be conjunct Jupiter (making moods boisterous) and square Mars (giving us just enough agitation to make the changes we need) this could in fact be an ideal Date Night to kick off a new romance, or pump some life into an old one.
