The big aspect hanging over our heads this week is Mars opposite Uranus. In the past couple of months, Mars has added a lot of urgency to the slow grinding of the Uranus-Pluto opposition, and this week many of you may see the (potentially uncomfortable) resolution of difficult issues that have been causing you grief since April. Mars has been in Libra for an epic length of time now, and as it moves through its final stretch in Libra, many interpersonal dramas are likely to be coming to a head. If there was ever a time astrologers were thankful for a planet entering Scorpio, it’ll be this July!
Mercury Retrograde ends on Tuesday. Although technically Mercury is in the “shadow period” until the end of the month, you’re probably as sick and tired of holding off on agreements, or communications going wrong, as I am — so let’s just go forward and hope for the best. “Shadow period” or not, Mercury is strongly placed in Gemini, so there’s no point in delaying any bright new ideas… unless they happen at work on Tuesday. Just because Mercury is finally headed in the right direction, don’t assume that Tuesday will be your most productive day of the week. The Moon will be Void of Course in Leo for a good portion of the workday. This means that new projects are not likely to turn out as intended, and everyone maybe acting a little like they are the star of their own movie… when in fact, there’s no movie at all.
During the second half of the week, the Sun is opposite Pluto. On the one hand, this will provide the means to break the chains of long-standing patterns and habits. On the other hand, you may be facing a lot of people giving you a “my way or the highway” attitude, and you may be a source of that for others yourself. This aspect peaks on the Fourth of July, which means that for many, the fireworks at the party may be accompanied by more personal explosions. Fortunately, Moon in Libra that day may help make peace.
The dating scene on Saturday and Sunday proves to be particularly interesting. Not only is Venus sextile Uranus — which has everyone looking for new excitement — but Mars is both conjunct and occulting Moon on Saturday evening. You may remember that in the last couple of months, there were times when the Moon was both conjunct and occult Saturn. This made for a few hours of particular emotional heaviness. This Saturday evening features a particular dose of emotional impulsiveness. Be careful of where you invest your feelings… and watch your temper.
