Technically, St. Patrick’s Day is Monday, but traditionally most people who commemorate the occasion are already past the hangover stage. Those folks might be forgiven for thinking that the hangover has a hangover itself on Monday, because that’s the day Mercury enters Pisces. Mercury rules logic, rationality, and thought in general… and Pisces has more of a reputation for being at home with sentiment and feelings than with double-entry bookkeeping and record-keeping. That may be an unfair generalization, but with Mercury in conjunction range of Neptune for the week, it may not be an inaccurate one. Neptune is strong in Pisces (which it rules) and Mercury is “debilitated” there, being opposite Virgo (the Sign that Mercury rules). Long story short… keep your long stories short this week. It will decrease the odds of miscommunication. However: if what you need to send this week is a signal of peace, love, and/or understanding, set aside the spreadsheet and try your hand at a haiku, and your idea may be more likely to come across properly. The Venus-Uranus sextile (which is exact Tuesday) may give you both the impulse to express your needs and the ability to formulate them in a new way that will be heard.
On Thursday the Moon isn’t merely conjunct Saturn, it’s occulting it — passing directly over it from our perspective. This happened once before recently, on February 21st, also around 23 degrees Scorpio. Think back to that day, and if anything in particular sucked, expect a return visit in some form or another. In the lingering spirit of wild-eyed speculation that often accompanies St. Patrick’s Day drinking, let me toss this in: although I rarely use asteroids, on the same day the asteroid Erigone will perform a very rare occultation of the star Regulus. In Greek Mythology, Erigone hung herself over her father’s grave, after discovering her father had died in a drunken misunderstanding. Regulus is called “The Heart Of The Lion,” and has a lot to do with Ego Issues. Long story short: try really hard to not take anything personally on Thursday.
Complicating the “ego issues” on Thursday is the Sun entering Aries. Aries people are often kind and generous and forgiving, if a bit blustery about it. Play into that side of the Aries Equation as opposed to the “get outta my way!” side of The Ram, and your relations will go much more smoothly this week.
The weekend dating and relationship outlook is reasonably bright, with the Moon in outgoing Sagittarius for Friday and Saturday making happy aspects to both Venus and Uranus. Just be cautious of those awkward squares to Mercury and Neptune on Friday evening… the open-mouth policy of Moon in Sagittarius makes verbal slip-ups more likely, but the mood will likely be forgiving.
