Love Horoscope for the Week of February 24

weeklyloveWhen it comes to love and romance, there’s plenty of good news this week: lots of stable aspects to Venus and Mars to build on, and Mercury ends its retrograde period… and who isn’t glad for that? Keeping the focus on those near and dear to you is probably going to be a really good coping mechanism, because it will help take your mind off of the 800 Pound Gorilla In The Room this week: the Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-square. Think of all the potential energies this week as being a bit like Gone With The Wind — there’s plenty of opportunities for passion and love, provided you can look past all the explosions and Atlanta burning down.

The pent-up energies of Uranus and Pluto are joined by the pull of Jupiter throughout the week. It’s often hard to point at a specific day or even week in advance when something as big and tense as the Uranus-Pluto square has its most obvious effect, but the middle of this week is a likely candidate. Jupiter reaches the exact square to Uranus on Late Tuesday / early Wednesday, but even then there may be a soft place to fall, as around the same time the Moon isn’t merely conjunct Venus in Capricorn — it’s also an occultation, when the Moon actually passes in front of Venus from our perspective here on Earth. If you’ve hit a difficult patch in your personal life this week, like the song says, try a little tenderness… for once, it might actually work! If your relationship could stand some stabilizing, make plans for Monday evening: Venus sextile Saturn is the ideal combination of love and stability. That, and with the conditions starting now and leading up to the Cardinal Grand Cross in April, establishing a little sanity and security while you can is an excellent idea.

Friday night/Saturday morning may prove to be an even better-than-usual date night. Not only is Mercury stationing and going forward, it does so just in time for the New Moon in Pisces. New Moons are always a good time for setting your goals for the coming month, and if what you’re looking for is stability in your personal life — or something new that has a chance to last — a New Moon in the Sign of the Hopeful Fishes is a good time to make those things come true for you. Although Mars goes retrograde on Saturday, it’s stationary first, and a stationary planet is a powerful one. Imagine all your passions poised at the threshold of something new, with Venus in square range to that Mars providing a little spice.

And hey… let’s not worry too much about Saturn turning retrograde on Sunday, shall we?  Retrogrades aren’t necessarily bad news, and you’ve got to admit: a lot of great love stories start out under some wonky circumstances.
