One of the most reliable tropes in horror movies is the “false sense of comfort” moment. You know how it is: something spooky and/or terrible has happened, but then everyone has a false sense of comfort and sure enough, someone decides it’s safe to go for a long walk by themselves in the woods, or go running around the spaceship looking for the cat. This week, Sun in Scorpio heralds what is arguably the most Scorpionic week of them all. Much of the world will be marking Hallowe’en and/or Día de los Muertos. Like a lot of things associated with Scorpio, those death-and-regeneration-based events may look a little sinister or intimidating from the outside, but a little explanation can take the fear out of things. So with that in mind: don’t panic just because there’s an eclipse at the end of this forecast. And if this last week has been particularly peaceful for you, enjoy the break in the battle while it lasts.
The week starts out slowly, with Moon in Leo void of course pretty much all day. Sure, a lazy lion loafing around is cute, but it doesn’t really get much done. And a lazy lion can be mighty deceptive: don’t expect your whole week just to lie there and safely do nothing just because Monday was uneventful.
Mars gets a lot of play this week. If there is anything in your life that needs a little bravery to address, a little more energy, or a little sexing up, then this could be the time to get the job done. Mars in Virgo loves few things in life better than a detailed Action Plan, so make one for yourself. After some potential for false starts and lashing out at false targets on Wednesday (when Mars is quincunx Uranus), Mars is trine Pluto on Thursday and sextile Mercury on Friday, which makes for ideal conditions when it comes to communicating your needs and not taking “no” for an answer. Assertiveness is good, but be careful not to overplay your hand — and make sure you aren’t playing with dynamite: The Uranus-Pluto square is once more exact this Friday, and a lot of long-standing tensions will be just a little tenser than average.
And then comes that unexpected crack in the safely-productive week: Sunday’s Solar Eclipse in Scorpio. What’s compounding the dramatic potential for this eclipse is the fact that it’s closely conjunct Saturn, energizing the early-mid degrees of Scorpio and making those points a trigger for larger things to come. Find out where 11 degrees Scorpio falls in your chart, and expect that department of your life to show dramatic change in future — particularly the end of the year, when Pluto is sextile that point, and again in the Spring when Jupiter ends its long retrograde in Cancer closely trine that same point.
This week’s transits are all pretty productive, if you know how to work with them. Just plan ahead, make up your mind where and how you want to change things in your life, and whatever you do: Just because it seems like there’s a break in the battle, don’t go off skinny-dipping in Crystal Lake by yourself at midnight. Doing that sort of thing is just begging for trouble…
