Love Horoscope for the Week of October 7

weeklyloveWith all the insanity and tension in the world of late, isn’t it about time we had a little fun? This week, Venus is on the way to help with that!

Venus enters Sagittarius on Monday. Think of it more like this: Venus drops the leather miniskirt she wore in Scorpio and puts on her track pants. Yes, the bad-girl charms and sexual intensity of Scorpio are a nice change of pace as far as the romantic mood goes, but that sort of thing can’t go on forever. Whether you’re looking to start a relationship or maintain an existing one, the fun and fair-mindedness that Sagittarius often brings to the table may be exactly what’s required. Last week saw a dramatic New Moon in Libra that set the stage for a lot of potential change in your love life, and didn’t necessarily do so in a comfortable or easy manner. For many of you, those events may not have had immediate consequences, but they laid the groundwork for this week, as the Sun builds to a square with Jupiter. Jupiter rules Sagittarius, and if you maintain a philosophical attitude and hang a big “DON’T PANIC” sign where you can see it at all times, then you have a chance to come out ahead with any interpersonal tensions happening this week.

Sagittarius also has a reputation for not thinking before it acts, and perhaps for being a bit too much of a Party Monster for its own good. All this week (but especially Thursday when the aspect is exact) Venus square Neptune does absolutely nothing to dispel that reputation. Some love lives need a little more fuzzy delusion and deep-eye-gazing though, and for those, this aspect is ideal. Whether literally or figuratively though, you should consider spending the week within easy shouting distance of a Designated Driver.

As far as actual perils to your sanity go, there’s nothing quite like tripping off a time bomb like a rogue Mars. The God of Wars (and impulsive sexual encounters) spends his last full week in Leo looking around for witnesses, and sees none: Mars in Leo remains unaspected other than the occasional fleeting hit from the Moon. An unaspected Mars is a bit of a wild card, and in Leo there’s always a chance that it will blow up when someone rubs someone else’s Ego the wrong way, even if by accident. Perhaps especially by accident, because nothing seems more than a cutting remark made dispassionately … and a misheard and unintended insult sounds exactly that way to the recipient’s ears. Once again, the Designated Driver warning applies.

By the weekend, things settle down a bit — or at least just enough for Sun square Jupiter to hit everyone by surprise. Remember: when you’re dealing with the hearts of others, things can always go wrong purely by accident: but with Sun square Jupiter, that unintended cutting remark can come across more like a machete attack. Remember: play into that Venus in Sagittarius vibe as much as you can, keep your wits and good humor by your side, and wait things out until Mars enters Virgo next week. Gosh, nothing could go wrong then, could it…?
