Love Horoscope for the Week of September 30

weeklyloveThink Libra is all about harmony and getting along with people and being helpful and friendly and such? This week may change your opinion about that, at least temporarily.

The big astrological event of the week is a New Moon in Libra. New Moons represent the beginning of a cycle, and this particular Moon is a whopper. Forget for the moment all the relationship symbolism inherent when it comes to Libra — this New Moon can make you crazy even if you’re all alone. But of course the others in your life will (as always) be more than willing to help out with making things edgy, even if that’s not their actual intent.

The Sun and Moon conjunct at 11 degrees Libra are closely opposed by Uranus. Any Moon-Uranus opposition can make moods edgy and unpredictable, but when that combination is joined by the Sun, egos get involved, flare up, and fuel the confusion. Throw in a square from Pluto to all three placements and the potential for explosive action is hard to avoid.

If New Moons are the beginning of a new cycle, then perhaps a Pluto square implies that something new needs to be built from old wreckage — or maybe that something old has to be broken before something new can take root. Take a good look at your relationships, your money and health habits, and the things you’ve built up for yourself, both consciously and unconsciously. What needs to be changed? What has to be torn down that’s blocking your view of a better tomorrow?

You’d better ask yourself these questions in the next week, because if you don’t get ahead of the game and take action, forces could well do all the breaking and tearing down for you. The punchline to all this is that Jupiter in Cancer is amplifying all of it: square the Sun, Moon, and Uranus, and opposite Pluto. Normally Jupiter is up for a good time and serves to make things lighter. In his strongest Sign of Cancer though — and as part of a four-way planetary Mexican Standoff — Jupiter is more like the joker who spikes the punch at an office party where the boss and employees haven’t been getting along: It’s only a matter of time before someone insults someone else, and before you know it there are black eyes and angry bosses and threatened lawsuits all around.

Fortunately, Saturn in Scorpio is playing a relatively supportive role to all these shenanigans. Developing a sense of inner calm — as well as a gameplan for making change in a sane and stable way — can result in a productive outcome to the week’s potential conflicts.

Besides, there are always other ways to work out tension besides causing a brawl, thankfully. Let’s not forget that while all this is going on, Mars in Leo is still square Venus in Scorpio. It might be a good week to find a workout partner in the bedroom. Hey, at least it’ll take your mind off of that messy office party for a while…
