The Sun spends its last week in Virgo for the year, and unlike that Sign’s usual reputation for calm and order, this time the Sun leaves Virgo with a bit of a bang, and potentially a mess to clean up. The Full Moon mid-week opposes the Moon in Pisces. Here’s a bit of hard-earned wisdom you won’t likely read in any of the textbooks, but in my personal experience, the Full Moon in Pisces is one of the craziest of the year. It falls around the time the kids are back in school. Ever notice how crazy the little darlings get when they’re hanging out in the mall or the corner store around that time of year? They’re excited to be seeing each other again, and a Full Moon just amplifies that. You can expect to see a broad range of disorderly public behavior both from them and from the people close to you, especially from those who have important placements in their charts in the late degrees of the Mutable Signs.
Diplomacy is called for at a time like this, and fortunately Virgo’s ruler Mercury is in Libra. Libra understands the use of diplomacy to get its way, and as we all know, a little calm and rational diplomacy is the best way to defuse any hostage-taking. Apply that principle to any glitches in your love life or your personal relations, and you’re likely to come out ahead.
I’m emphasizing the “rational” here not just because the Sun is in Virgo, but because its ruler is square to Jupiter. Mercury square Jupiter can make for lots of intellectual and verbal outbursts, and those do not always serve one’s best interests, especially when Uranus is squaring that Jupiter and opposed to that Mercury.
Come to think of it, maybe “sit down, shut up, and hang on” might be the best advice I can give you to handle this particular week. Mars in Leo is also involved in this lineup, and Mars in Leo loves a bit of drama. Drama is just fine if it’s happening on your TV, but when it’s happening in your personal life it’s not so welcome.
The wildcard in this week’s lineup is Venus conjunct Saturn. That combination may sound chilly or indifferent to many of you, and it certainly does carry that potential. In Vedic astrology, Venus and Saturn are considered to be best buddies — and if they can get their act together, they can get fantastic results in both the practical and emotional realms.
Besides — given the potential blowups coming with this week’s astrological lineup, “chilly and indifferent” may be just what the doctor ordered. And if there is one thing that Sun in Virgo understands, it’s the need to take one’s medicine.
