This Monday is Earth Day. I’ve always found the concept of “Earth Day” a little bit silly. I mean, sure … let’s respect the earth and all, but do we really only need one day to do that? Can we really make one single nod of acknowledgment to the planet we were all born on and then move on with our daily lives of destroying the joint?
This week’s astrological transits are a bit like that. You might think this week’s Lunar Eclipse is all about temporary changes in some part of your life, but it’s really about building towards something bigger. And don’t let the lack of action in your life on Earth Day fool you, either. There have been some very long Void of Course Moons recently, and both Monday and Wednesday this week see day-long whoppers. That doesn’t mean that nothing will get done, but even if it does, it’s likely to feel a little futile. Also, try to avoid starting any new projects or taking new initiatives in your personal life during these days. There’s nothing wrong with trying, you’re just much less likely to get results. Or, at least, the results you wanted.
The big astrological event this week is the Scorpio Lunar Eclipse on Thursday. With both Saturn and Mars involved, the results of this particular eclipse might be a little more explosive than usual. Look at your chart and find where 5 to 8 degrees of the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) are. Those houses of your birth chart are likely to see a lot of action in the following couple of weeks, and not necessarily easy or comfortable action either. But with five planets trine or sextile Pluto in this eclipse chart, your odds of channeling those potentially destructive forces into something useful and constructive are greatly increased. Get a clearer notion in your head in advance of what specific changes you want to make in those areas of your life, and then make it happen. This eclipse can provide a great boost.
Just in case you were worried there was no potential for fun this week, along comes Mars sextile Neptune on Friday. These two planets have little in common, but when they get together, great things can happen. People feel both dreamier and more impulsive, and that stranger at the other end of the bar gets mysteriously more attractive. Apply that principle to your love life — whatever state it may be in at the time — and you will likely get good results.
Come to think of it, instead of Monday being “Earth Day,” maybe we should just call Friday “Charisma Day.” That way we could simply focus on charming each other, rather than our usual pursuits of fretting about things while slowly destroying our home planet….
