Love Horoscope for the Week of February 18

weeklyloveVenus in Aquarius is such a bright, shiny thing — standing there in her shimmering electric blue outfit, looking all lovely and inviting, ready to plan a combination hot date and humanitarian fund-raiser — so why is nobody talking to her? In matters of love, Venus is the first planet an astrologer looks to, and this week Venus is strangely detached from the conversation the other planets are having (other than the occasional passing transit from the Moon, which only lasts a few hours) .

Yes, I know: “strangely detached” and “Aquarius” often go hand in hand. In this case, you’ll likely find that the people you know with a heavy emphasis on Air Signs in their chart will be feeling pretty good — and the rest of us may not be grooving out to that beat like they do.

Oh well: if romance is tricky, at least we can get some work done. It’s not like Saturn is turning retrograde or anything — oh wait, it is? Darn. That’s not the end of the world, but generally speaking your dealings with authority figures, limitations, and the basic structures of your life will be a little more difficult to grasp and to deal with. But that situation is in place until July so, as Saturn itself would say to you, deal with it, pal.

The busy work week that starts on Monday also starts with the Sun entering Pisces. Pisces may have that reputation for being kind of soft and dreamy rather than hard-working and ambitious, but this does mark the beginning of a month where rolling up your sleeves and tackling any emotional issues will get you results. Keep an eye on your Gemini and Sagittarius friends, though. Sun in Pisces will likely elevate their blood pressure, and not in an entirely good way.

Tuesday, the Moon is Void of Course pretty much all day long, so avoid commencing work on any new projects or finalizing anything. However, the Moon is in Gemini, so feel free to spend the day talking about how nothing is getting started or wrapped up.

Finally, the weekend sees Mercury turn retrograde. Although professional astrologers spend a lot of time warning you from putting too much emphasis on the clichés (not every Virgo is a neat freak!), this is one of those astrological standards I personally stand by. Between Saturday and March 17, you can expect more than your average number of issues with screwy communications, mangled e-mails, and contracts going awry. Bonus points go to Mercury Retro for being in Pisces, which has never been considered the brightest place for that planet to be in, even when it isn’t stumbling backwards on its path like a drunken sales rep at a convention. So: if you’ve got any agreements to finalize or important communications to attend to — get to it now!
