There’s been a lot of Scorpio press since Saturn’s ingress. But three other signs are feeling this influence just as intensely. These signs are Fixed (like Scorpio), and a transit in any one Fixed sign will impact the other three. Read on to find out how Saturn’s squeeze will impact the love lives of Taurus, Leo and Aquarius.
Taurus
Saturn is opposing your sign. An opposition directly involves “the other person,” and you may find yourself experiencing uncomfortable issues via your intimate relationships. You are who you are, and you know what you love. While this makes you admirably dependable, it also makes you resistant to change and stubbornly self-contained. Saturn can trigger change in your love life just as aggressively as an abrupt Uranus transit. But Saturn works by emphasizing what you can’t, or don’t, have. If you’re single, this opposition can make you feel very lonely, but it will push you to explore why you’re on your own. It’s possible that a new relationship will manifest, but it will feature heavy responsibilities that challenge your pattern of relating. If you’re in a relationship, this transit will either move it to a deeper (Scorpio) level of commitment, or end it. Single or involved, you’ll be urged to look underneath your relationship patterns, rather than just accepting things as they are.
The Risk with This Transit: projecting your issues onto others. If you start to blame someone else for what’s happening in your love life, take a look at what you’ve been contributing.
Leo
Saturn is squaring your sign, putting limits on your star power. Let’s be honest: you’ve always had a sense of entitlement. You have a special destiny, and romantic partners need to acknowledge this if they want to be part of your world. But this transit will trigger an unfamiliar drain on your self-confidence, and you may start to question your magnetism. If what you’re offering romantic partners is solid gold (generous love that feeds your needs and their needs), you’ll simply experience this influence as a pinch. Your partner may call you on some selfish behavior, or (if you’re single) you may feel frustrated when prospective dates/partners don’t seem to be appreciating you. Use these Saturn-induced prompts as opportunities to adjust your behavior. But if you’ve been coming at love from a place of complete self-centeredness, you’ll be abruptly reminded that other people have needs. A relationship may be severely shaken (if you’ve taken your partner for granted). Dating may grind to a halt as you find that you just can’t get what you want. The more severe the restrictions/upsets, the more intensely you’ll have to make the switch from subjective to objective behavior.
The Risk with this Transit: devolving into depression and self-pity. No one said a square from Saturn was fun, so consider this a tune-up. Sometimes you have to focus your fire to ensure that it’s burning in the right direction.
Aquarius
Saturn will be squaring your sign, placing some restrictions on your freedom. Did you recoil when you read that last sentence? Breath, and keep reading. No one does individuality quite like you do; romantic partners must love you for who you are, and that includes accepting your quirks and independence. If you’ve honored your romantic individuality while still making healthy compromises (because all relationships require compromise) this transit may simply nudge you. Existing partnerships may require adjustments regarding which rules you’ll conform to, and which ones you won’t. If you’re single, some of your romantic ideals may be tested as you discover that not all lovers want to be (or are capable of being) your friends. But if you’ve taken your sign’s rebel archetype to the extreme, this transit will pull you up short. You’ll be held responsible for jarring/inconsiderate behavior, and may push your lover right out the door if you’ve distanced yourself enough. If you’re single and have stubbornly maintained your lone wolf status, this influence could bring feelings of isolation to a head. You don’t have to sacrifice your individuality, but consider using the tension from this transit to moderate your behavior.
The Risk with This Transit: kicking mindlessly against all rules and limits. If you find yourself saying “No!” to everything, step back and consider what your goal is.
These are very general descriptions of Saturn’s impact on the Fixed signs. As always, specific influences depend on your chart and other transits/progressions that are occurring. The above can be applied to the cusp of your 1st or 7th Houses (in the Fixed signs). They can also work for any planet in the Fixed signs, but they’ll be more accurate if those planets are in your 1st, 4th, 5th, 7th or 8th Houses. The exceptions are Venus and Mars, which represent love and sex no matter which house they’re in.
