(Astrology Explored) Has Paul Ryan caught a case of Romney’s hoof-in-mouth disease? Bad enough that the presidential contender believes 47% of Americans are lazy slackers only looking for a government handout, now vice-president candidate Ryan is caught on camera implying that the people in the inner cities lack discipline and character.
“We have lots of laws that aren’t being properly enforced. We need to make sure we enforce these laws. But the best thing to help prevent violent crime in the inner cities is to bring opportunity in the inner cities, is to help people get out of poverty in the inner cities, is to help teach people good discipline, good character. That is civil society. That’s what charities, and civic groups, and churches do to help one another make sure that they can realize the value in one another.”
Paul Ryan–Interview on ABC 12 in Flint, Michigan 10/08/2012.
No wonder that Ryan’s handler abruptly terminated the interview. But what on earth, especially after the Romney campaign just pulled themselves out of tailspin dive after Romney’s previous comments, would prompt Ryan to make such a statement?
Just as this astrologer observed about Mitt Romney’s chart, Ryan was born with a horoscope that portents his ability to carry idealistic zeal to promote the good of mankind. With his Sun (his core identity) and his Venus (his value system) in the humanitarian zodiac sign of Aquarius he should have an instinctual understanding of the plight of the common man. With his Mercury (his thinking processes) in the zodiac sign of Capricorn, not only can he grasp of the “big picture” he has considerable administration skills to manage people and resources to birth any plan of his choosing. With the zodiac sign of Sagittarius, the philosopher, on his Ascendant combined with spiritual Neptune, he should have a thoughtful and compassionate, not knee jerk, view of the world. With his Moon, the planet of his feelings, in the sign of the scales, Libra, he should have a natural desire for justice.
So what gives? Is it his Mars (his survival instincts) in Aries? Aries shoots from the hip first and asks questions later. With the planet of wounds, Chiron, sitting next to his Mars, this is problem that plagues continually. Indeed, by transit, the planet of the unexpected Uranus is sitting on his Mars, Chiron. Transiting Uranus is opposite his natal Uranus. This is a pivotal time in everyone’s life, the kick-off of the series of transits by the outer planets that trigger the mid-life crisis. On the particular day of the interview, transiting Uranus is at the apex of Yod. Transiting Venus is one leg, transiting Saturn and Mercury at the other.
Saturn, the planet of our place in the world, has just moved into the sign of Scorpio. When Saturn is in Scorpio it loves to drag out our secrets to display to the world. Saturn tells us, this is what you need to “clean up” if you want to progress in this world. So it is no surprise that Saturn is sitting in a sensitive spot in Ryan’s chart as one leg of the yod, that distinctly point to Ryan’s Achille’s heel.
