The way we fall for a lover can be attributed to a wide variety of planetary attraction factors. Venus on a Descendant or the Moon conjoining a Sun, or even something as fundamental as Venus trining a Mars … all are legitimate explanations for choosing to be with another person. What happens, then, when we get together only to find out our Sun signs just aren’t supposed to be compatible? My recent book, Lovecasts: The Astrological Guide to Finding Lasting Love, was written to help women figure out how to deal with a lover whose Sun sign, shall we say, is not exactly harmonious with her own. Because the Sun sign is the essential quality of a person, people and their personalities will always boil down to these basic traits. It pays to know how to handle each sign as a lover so we can cater to them, and push each sign outside its comfort zone so we get the kind of love and affection we desire, need and deserve. Here’s the low-down on each sign, how he’ll seduce you and more important, how you can keep him around for that sweet, fulfilling thing we call lasting love:
Aries
Aries makes decisions ultra-fast, and will walk right up to the person he or she wants and goes for it. The object of Aries’ affection might not realize she’s being hit on, only to be dragged back to Aries’ abode for some rather sudden and passionate, if not necessarily polite or patient, sex. Yet, there’s something lovable about the baby of the zodiac that makes him endearing, especially if you love being swept off your feet. Keep Aries around by always changing the scenery and engaging in at least some of the physical activity Aries loves. Think kick-boxing or mixed-sex softball or soccer. Aries loves to see you sweat, and will always appreciate knowing you totally belong to him.
Taurus
Wave anything that smacks of luxury, softness, or chocolate under the bull’s nose, and he’ll follow you anywhere. Taurus wants to know you will always do what it takes to make him feel comfortable, pampered and/or adored. He will stake his claim on you to some extent, but will also insist that you show enough interest to make it worth his while. In bed, he can be very sensual and considerate. He’ll look for all the places that make you crazy and make a game out of seeing how many times he can get your toes to curl. Keep him coming back to you by being as reliable as he is, and coming to realize that although he likes familiarity to the degree of easily falling into a rut, there’s something wonderful about being able to predict what he’s going to do next when you know how good it’s going to feel!
Gemini
If you really want to be with a Gemini, you can’t let him know it. Gemini’s number one prerequisite in a potential lover – or even a close friend – is the ability to let him go. Yes, he’s a flirt and you might never know “the truth” about where he’s been; but if you really want him to make at least some occasional stops in your boudoir, you’re going to have to pretend you’re not sitting around waiting for him to show up. The busier you are, the more likely he is to be determined to “get busy” – with YOU. He talks a lot, even in bed, but as long as you can keep the topic on the parts of your body that long to be caressed by his obscenely fantastic hands, you won’t mind. You can keep him “up for hours” by continuously telling him how sexy he is, and how lucky you are that he stopped by to see you … if only just for now.
Cancer
It really isn’t difficult to get the Cancer Guy to like you – all you have to do is let him hover over you. He might want to cook you dinner, help you with your dishes, or simply sit around and tell you stories about his family. There’s just one drawback. Once you get a Cancer Guy, you may never get RID of him. He has an ulterior motive for having sex, and that’s having a baby! He’s always thinking about the day when he can have a real, live doll to cuddle and caress. You may be able to convince him to treat you like that living baby doll for a long while before you actually give birth, and if you want to do that, just let him take care of you, and be very careful about hurting his feelings. You might want some other parts of him to be hard, but you don’t want him to retreat into that impenetrable shell.
Leo
Leo is a pretty transparent creature, really – he will put on a big brave show and act like he’s royalty, but on the inside he’s really kind of an “aw, shucks” kind of guy. If you want to get this noble and very sexy man into your bed, though, you need to feed his ego copious amounts of attention. He will look to you for approval over and over again, hoping you notice all the things about him that make him attractive. Leo has a great ability to bring out the best in those he loves, kind of like a benevolent father. That makes him pretty awesome in bed. Once you’ve been with him, you’ll discover you have talents you never would have tapped with someone else. To keep Leo around, make sure you thank him for bringing you to the heights of pleasure and happiness you’ve reached, and reciprocate by transforming your love and affection into something more akin to adoration and worship.
Virgo
Being with a Virgo can be easy, especially if you’re the kind of person who sort of has her act together, but could really use a little adult supervision. All you have to do is learn that when he makes his little criticisms, he can’t really help it! He loves to look at everything and figure out what doesn’t belong in the picture, from the disheveled stack of magazines on the floor to the little fleck of spinach in your teeth. He’s a bit of a control freak, but that’s only because he’s nervous about not being “good enough.” In bed, he’s a master at technique, and will satisfy you in ways you didn’t know were possible. All you have to do is let him take over at least some small segment of your life. He loves to deal with details, organize you and make sure you always look and sound your best. How can you resist him? Why would you want to?
Libra
The classically romantic Libra can be very sexy, but he needs a lot of warming up. Let him do all the romancing – the date he sets up for you is likely to include amenities such as candlelight, soft music and wonderful food. His witty conversation can also be very seductive. He’ll compliment you and look deeply into your eyes at least pretending to hang onto your every word. If you’re wondering what he’s waiting for – it’s your approval of him! In bed, he’ll be very romantic, and not nearly as intellectual and detached as he would like you to think. Show as much affection as you can possibly summon (not that it’s at all difficult to do so!), and he’ll loosen up. Once that happens, you’ll be very grateful to have this gracious, sweet and undeniably good-looking partner with you in bed.
Scorpio
Seducing Scorpio is like a joke. Because he’s almost always thinking about sex, it’s rarely a problem to get him to follow you to the Casbah – or anywhere you want to go and get naked! You’d better be ready for the ride, though. Not only will he blow you away in bed – he’ll also demand much of you in daily life. Scorpio always wants to be the best he can be, and insists that you join him in this quest. Also, he’ll find out everything there is to know about you, including things you might not even know about yourself! Once you’ve spilled your guts to him, you’ll realize you don’t know very much about him at all! Hmmmmm. Well, part of the secret of keeping your Scorpio interested is in allowing him that kind of space. It’s not that he’s “secretive,” exactly, but he can be most certainly more than a little “private.”
Sagittarius
Getting a Sagittarius to stay in one place long enough to propose you have sex can be a challenge! Presuming you get that far, though, you can relax and assume the rest is easy. The Sagittarius lover can be awesomely affectionate, in a “lick me with sloppy kisses” puppy-dog kind of way. The excitement alone is enough to make you feel like a million bucks, but Sagittarius also has a lot to offer in terms of physical performance. This high-energy man will always be there for you, at least while you’re together, that is! The only way to keep a Sagittarius man “on call” is to allow him the latitude to go out on his eternal quest for the new, the different, and the fascinating. Capricorn
You should never let Capricorn’s outward air of acceptability scare you away. This is someone who really is dead-serious about what he does for a living and how good he is at it.
