Jupiter has turned direct recently, and it’s very powerfully placed in Sagittarius. However, that alone doesn’t mean that your committed relationships will be running particularly smoothly or harmoniously. Yes, Jupiter in Sagittarius usually signifies a good time that way, but this week we have a few complications.
The big event this week — for those who love love — is the Full Moon in Aquarius on Thursday. Any Full Moon is going to be an emotionally-charged time, but this one is loaded with some particular punch. First of all, the Sun is in a close conjunction to Venus. Like, so close that it is considered to be what astrologers call “cazimi.” Although that places a particular emphasis on all the sweetness and romance associated with Venus, Venus is a little impaired. Any planet this closely conjunct the Sun may have a hard time operating properly. There will be a lot of romantic impulses in the air, but the potential for unnecessary drama might make it harder to get lasting results.
But as far as actual sex drives go? Mars is hanging out more or less all by itself at the tail end of Leo. Although it is roughly conjunct the Sun and Venus and opposite the Moon, there’s a certain sense that this Mars doesn’t have a lot holding it back. That can either be a good thing or a bad thing, but it’s usually not a wise thing. Once we factor in mood swings that come with a Full Moon, it’s easy to see how unnecessary blow-ups between lovers could be happening.
At least when it comes to controlling our own worst impulses, we are creatures of reason. Oops, there’s a problem with that this week too. Mercury square Uranus is casting a shadow over the entire week, and that aspect is exact the day after the Full Moon. Yes, Mercury retrograde is over, but you might have a hard time seeing that this week. Even at the best of times, Mercury in Leo is often better at winning shouting contests at the local bar than it is at reaching calm and reasonable compromises with someone, or working out issues in a sensible manner.
Finally, if things didn’t work out for you well romantically this week, you may need to make some precise surgical cuts from your life. Or, maybe you just need to be more critical and analytical about where you are focusing your energy and your drives.
