Pisces symbol is two fish representing the bridge between heaven and earth providing connections between the spiritual and material world, the divine experience brought into our everyday life. The fish was also an early symbol of Christian faith when members were persecuted. Christians having to meet in secret would draw a single arc in the sand another Christian would complete the drawing with a second arc forming a fish. The slippery nature and ambiguity of Pisces coming in very useful as code.

Surfing visionary legend Laird Hamilton has Sun in Pisces ‘To find your passion, you have to look inward. If you look outward, all you’ll see is what other people are doing. You’re not other people.’ |
It can be good to haunt the mysterious world of the imagination, floating around supported by what appears to be the invisible with an endless stretch of open water ahead of us. Now we can fully join, empathise and feel with all those other creatures who live with us and with what may live and breathe in the further spaces yet to explore.
At first glance, there does not seem to be any roads, paths or sense of direction to this territory, it all seems to be one big well of water where there seems to be little or no form or structure. Until we hit rock bottom that is, then we find out exactly where the limits of our new space reside and take action. Mars on Pisces – Eternal Affectations
How to know just where to go asks the confused traveller, how is it all organized, do I just follow the crowds going this way? That is some strange dance but who knows? Just as life in all its beauty and colours is lived in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, with the coral building their own cities according to some grand unknown pattern, so too during this period of time we shall all encounter and merge with others to make our contribute to society.

There is a shift to the infinite, to the imaginable and unimaginable, most welcome after the removed and scientific world of the Sun in Aquarius environment of last month
Here in Pisces we encounter the vivid, the vapid and the extraordinary. We may have thought that Sun in Aquarius last month was bizarre with all its unexpected twists and turns but now things can get truly surreal. Here in the Pisces Oceania, the world begins to reveal its mysterious and glorious visions as we slide and glide our way through. Now we will have the space to dream, fantasise and we can only imagine who and what else may magically appear before us next, perhaps even on the silver screen.

We have a clear choice now, to stay on the surface where it is warm and light and currents wind and waves have more effect upon our movement, or we dive down deeper into the darker, colder murkier environment of the inky black depths. We may notice that being in Pisces brings with it strange dualities and conundrums such ‘its this or that’, ‘you can’t have this without the other’ and ‘this always brings that!’ there are so many more complications and predicaments to which we are suddenly made aware in this land. ‘Oh why is it not more simple?’ many of you may cry, well for those of you with Sun sign Pisces you already know exactly the truth of this; it is part of your mythology.
As we all journey with the Sun, we will all move into Pisces and its complexities and ancient wisdom. It’s symbol is that of two fishes joined together, whether they are cavorting or paralysed is unclear, but as a water sign its medium is emotion and it thrives on feeling. A fish is cold blooded and descriptions of Pisces frequently flow and glow about how feeling, emotional and intuitive they are, true many if not most have all of these traits, but this is a dual sign, there are two fish, and just as one may want to swim on the surface the other tugs into the deep, or visa versa.
Nothing is clear, certain definite or distinct. Water merges invisibly with water, it disappears into the earth, is carried along by the air and evaporates with heat, its boundaries filling and adapting to the holding vessel or dominant medium. It does not mix with oil, there are some things which resist its force and sometimes its own force is the most dominant, although it can sneak up on you suddenly or spend decades slowly and invisibly eroding the structure.
For this month, during your stay in this water world, do not take things for granted, know that the unknowable lives and breathes a fraction away from your breath and accept that the mysterious can seem to be playing games with your head.
Sensitive and sweet, chilly and warm, uncharted and relaxing, scary and safe, highly changeable and slightly narcotic, welcome to Pisces Seascapes where unfathomable issues and behaviour ebb and flow around us, whether we like it or not. Whether we ponder, have an answer, deliberately evade or debate, at some level we will eventually have to meet in ourselves or in others multiple layers upon layers of meaning. Things will be more complex than imagined, more complicated and not as they seem.
So what can we expect as Pisces energy pours down once again to us through the Sun’s rays? After all we will be affected whether we are indoors, outdoors, sleeping or waking, we will be saturated in its radical and far-reaching powers. We can expect to be more sensitive and highly attuned to the space and inhabitants of the world. We will pick up on the nuanced, the lyrical, the uplifting, as well as the suffering and wrong doings. Themes of sacrifice and immersion, loss, faith and spirituality may rise to the surface and instantly recognised or sink down in to be hidden in the depths operating submarine like – hidden, unseen, yet ancient and powerful.

On the 2nd February, 2013 the warrior planet Mars packed its kitbag and set off on its journey into the water world of Pisces, where it will encamp, compelled to love and be loved until it begins to spring into action and gambol and jump onto the energetic trampoline of fiery Aries on the 12th March, 2013.

Author, broadcaster, comedy scriptwriter and UK Labour politician John O’Farrell has Mars in Pisces He wrote for UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown who also has Mars in Pisces On the 28th February 2013 he is standing as Labour candidate in the Eastleigh by election ‘Suddenly, I feel really lucky to have an outlet for the profound sense of outrage I feel about this coalition government. This is the most important and interesting byelection for years, with the bizarre situation of Liberals and Tories fighting each other for the right to vote for exactly the same terrible policies. How could I not want to get in and help Labour stop both of them? |
While Mars is here, swimming in the oceans of Pisces, it will be mutable, mobile and malleable on any number of ‘issues’ whether personal, social or universal. During it’s stay in Pisces it floats and gets pulled by the strong currents and tides although it is also muscular enough to swim against the flow should it so choose.
Footballer/Model/Sex Symbol/Icon David Beckham has Mars in Pisces
‘Everyone’s been so quick to say that Im really thick or I haven’t got a brain… I have got this obsessive compulsive disorder where i have to have everything in a straight line or everything has to be in pairs..People react to criticism in different ways, and my way is definitely to come out fighting.’
Mars the planet of action will be driven to rescue and provide a raft for those who may be drowning or engulfed in conflict. We may find ourselves torn between intervention and laissez faire or just full on or full off. We may want to help then at the same time feel equally powerless to do justice to our ambitions. Whether split in two, torn asunder or just dithering and juddering on the spot, our actions will not be quite so clear cut or simple.
‘There is a very famous saying among Tibetan Buddhists: ‘If the student is not better than the teacher, then the teacher is a failure.”
Mars love a good fight and whilst it was in humanitarian and freedom loving Aquarius some real battles played out on the global stage. ‘The People’ elected in a new government in both Japan and Israel. The USA watched and listened to the inauguration speech by President Obama speaking for ‘we the people‘, sparking up heated debate about the meaning of liberty and liberalism as well as bringing into high focus those in the minority or outposts of society. ‘We, the people, declare today that the most evident of truths—that all of us are created equal—is the star that guides us still; just as it guided our forebears through Seneca Falls and Selma, and Stonewall.’
On a truly sad note, the tragic shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School also sparked up the issue of freedom and the cost to safety in daily life of the American citizen insistence on the right to bear arms and the protection of their children.
Facing the future what can we expect of Mars as it now clammers, trying hard to keep its shape and find its form in the transparent opaqueness of water? When looked at directly water will both reveal and distort the image beneath it and in much the same way Pisces can be both unfathomable whilst appearing transparent. Pisces emotions and feelings appears to be on display and yet Pisces can often absolutely confound any further attempt at questioning or analysis. Mars in watery Pisces will actually feel what it is like to ‘be there’ and it’s actions will be visceral and emotionally driven. However, the Pisces fish do swim in different directions and get pulled into eddies that can get very murky.
Check out the Pisces zone in your own chart. This area will see the passing of a zealous compassionate avenger or defender through it and used wisely this energy can be healthy and much needed. For instance if Pisces is your 6th house zone you could save a work colleague from a situation that they are struggling with by listening or counselling them through it. Or is it passing through your 4th house zone of family and you need to open up your home to people or even creatures who need rescuing.
Conversely, used more negatively you could get lost in a sea of endless possibilities. You could feel unable or too fearful to choose an option and act that may cripple all your best intentions. If it is moving through your personal 11th zone people you value as friends may eventually drain you or take advantage of your good nature.
Pisces going through your 5th house zone and your kids will be testing out your No! maybe feeling that it does not really mean No! but really ‘well maybe’.

Mercury in Pisces – Postcards from a Magical Mind
Welcome to the mind-blowing tour of the magical mystery realm of the fish. Not one fish, but two, chained together as one entity for eternity. Mercury moved country on the 5th February, 2013 from the air space of of Aquarius into the watery depths of Pisces. This month it may have to act as the bringer of succour, healing, understanding and care.
Mercury in Pisces can also bring, carry or trade in abstractions and concepts which can be puzzling to follow and yet surrending and going with the flow may get us there and be the right the road to travel. During this time Mercury also appears to move backwards, it goes Retrograde, on the 22nd February 2013 after a spell in its Shadowlands.
Mercury in Pisces Shadowlands Smoke Signals
This may herald some seriously wooly, or confusing, baffling and quite obscure communications and activities or conversely things might just appear to happen rather magically. We know that magic can be entertaining, and if we can’t work out how it is done, totally puzzling. Magic can be used to disguise what is really going on because it’s an illusion that distracts or numbs the left brain.
Harry Houdini has Mercury in Pisces and is world famous as a stunt/escape artist often in water. He started as a magician in a ‘double’ act with his brother ‘Dash’ then later on with his wife ‘Bess’.
Magic can also be used to intimidate or scare, voodoo and black magic are just words but scary easily springs to mind. Magic involves slight of hand and the fooling of the left brain that is used to being in control. With Mercury in Pisces this is used to powerful effect as we can lose ourselves and allow our brains to be taken outside the range of normally functioning. In much the same way as a drug can induce the brain to function outside of reality, Mercury in Pisces can take us to some out of this world places and to places right out of ourselves.
David Blaine has Mercury in Pisces and is world famous as a stunt/escape artist. He started as a street magician
‘As a magician, I think everything is possible. And I think if something is done by one person it can be done by others. He went on to hold his breath for 17 minutes.
The roads in this land may sometimes seem off the map and uncharted but this can also make the exploration all the more bewitching. This is a time that generates unanswerable questions, that throws communciations and exchanges of any nature to either the top surface level or into the deepest darkest depths imaginable. Imagination is quite literally the place from where we will draw our thoughts and will colour therefore the very words we write, speak, text and type. Compassion, soul, empathy and emotion will be the choices in our water colour paint box into which we will dip our pen and brush.
NASA’s Messenger spacecraft has been capturing high resolution colour images of planet Mercury for 2 years. This 3d model combines all the visual data showing volcanic plains as sand coloured areas and unclassified rock as blue areas, giving a brief impression of water where there cannot be any. More interesting and mysterious than previously thought, strange hollows have been spotted on the surface and minerals that ‘should’ have been burnt off by the Sun.
Mercury is in the watery space and territory of Pisces for these few weeks and it is to this language we must open our ears and to this environment we must acclimatise.
When Mercury passes through such a wise old sign as Pisces it realizes it cant teach an old dog new tricks and that there is nothing new under the sun so might as well stop exhausting itself in the effort, better to surrender end the pretense of control and ‘just go with it’. Time to pioneer and energetically beat new paths will come soon enough when we reach the fire roads of Aries. Meanwhile the journey whilst not exactly ending is like the waters in the mouth of a giant river apparently slowing right down, leaden, pregnant and fecund with life giving silt and sediment ready to merge and enrich the huge ocean expanse.

| Actress Ursula Andress has Mercury in Pisces Eternally emerging from the ocean holding seashells first seen in the Bond film Dr No |
Mercury is travel, trade, exchange, communication and busy activity and here in ‘let’s just wait and see’ Pisces it can all go off in a tangent with no apparent grip on what is actually happening. We may not exactly see the way ahead, it may wobble and be extremely blurred but we can use intuition and sense our path, if we try.
It is possible that whilst Mercury was in freaky and off the wall Aquarius, many of us noticed we had to switch our mental tuning to getting to grips with socio-cultural issues, the concerns of our friends or those in our group.
Mercury in Aquarius – Postcards from a Fantastic Mind
Under Aquarius we may have had to re-think what we took to be authoritative and delivered to us as right ‘from above’. We may have had to learn by disobeying rules and age old and respected traditions. We may have upset a few apple-carts along the way. Journeys and communications could have been surprising, unplanned and they may have even been disrupted or disrupting.
However, just as we have got halfway used to this style of speaking and thinking we will suddenly find ourselves in what appears to be a foreign country where everyone asks us to speak more emotionally, to go that extra mile to help or understand. We may have to use our right brains and bring alternative solutions to the table. We may have to learn by soaking up information and trusting in what we know.
When splashing its way through Pisces, Mercury will want us to employ our heart and minds to get to somewhere ‘kinder’ and more tolerable and tolerant. We will naturally incline to speak our truths but equally knowing full well that truth is multi-faceted each face sparkles, tempts and beguiles with a different allure, depending on persective. You may be standing right next to me in the river but the water rushing through my toes is uniquiely different from the water rushing over yours and yet it may look identical.
Being adaptable is Mercury’s middle name it will adjust to this new terrain we will adjust and find the new angle. It may well be with Mercury in Pisces, a highly adaptable sign itself, things get less defined and definite, after all infinity beckons. The truth of eternal change comes as waves of order then chaos, endlessly lapping, unable to ever leave the ocean.
During Mercury’s time in Pisces all of us on this precious planet of ours will be mentally processing with more imagination, irreverence, tolerance and also be a teeny bit more obtuse and confounding. Mercury in Pisces takes us along the ‘who knows’ path of the infinite. It presses us to processes in ways which are right brained, intuitive, and often pretty much ‘out there’. We all will be a little more compassionate, doubting a bit more, yet also more accepting and tolerant. We will be a lot happier discussing spirituality, art, boundless possibilities, a million what-ifs and what-nots, imaginative worlds, fantasy and illusion. With this Mercury our communications are about to get more unreal for good or bad.
We will all feel this change, this mental shift but you may well wonder just how does it affect us specifically. Well, the sign of Pisces sits somewhere in your birth chart, even if you do not have any planets in this sign. You will always have the mysterious Piscean ocean somewhere in your psyche. It is this Piscean zone which is entertaining Mercury as a house guest. Welcome your mercurial visitor and make ‘it’ feel at home. If you know where your ‘Piscean Country’ is then slow down and put your full attention to it. It is here that you may be trying to exercise imagination and fantastical ideas. Take your time and respect the issues affected in this part of your chart. For instance, Pisces may be in your 2nd house of ‘Money & Resources’, in which case Mercury here will probably prompt you to think about and plan imaginative changes which could impact your bank balance. Or if Pisces covers your 7th house or zone of ‘Partnerships’ where your plans could be in for a major overhaul concerning your significant other. Making the adjustments will now go more smoothly. Or is Pisces pulling at your Venus, if so maybe these few weeks will get you thinking about deepening, or severing, your commitment to what you have placed faith on previously valued.Make the most of your facility to think ‘strangely’ to be taken out of your normal comfort zone and perhaps the literal space you inhabit. You are about to taken to some very different looking landscapes where all is not as it seems and yet it is all of what we imagine. The endlessness and boundarylessness of this space may frighten the life out of us. How can we possibly get our heads around infinity, and yet it is here to which we are magnetically drawn with an inevitability which can shake us right down to our fishes tails. We emerged from the waters and many of us continue to hear the latent echos, and whisperings from that place and want to reply in the same tongue. Poetry is one such language, abstract mathematics and religious verse also contain its murmurs. Diving into the source reveals our origins, Mercury seeks to pass on and exchange and during this time in Pisces we may come to know that the motherland is really the mother ocean, where we truly are ‘all one’ and that is magic.

Mercury in Pisces Shadowlands Smoke Signals
Mercury entered its Shadow Period on the 8th February, 2013, yet another piece in the intricate astrological jigsaw puzzle of the moment we have already had a Moon wobble. New Moon in Aquarius – Moon Wobble & The Black Water Snake. Although actually still appearing to move forwards this is the beginning of Mercury’s journey back on itself. Mercury is in a slight haze, running down the corridors it will have to travel back down again soon on the 23rd February, 2013, when it will start another Retrograde phase.Where we are now is behind the confusing smokescreens of Mercury Shadowlands.
The birth chart for the Independent State of Vatican City has Mercury, Sun and Moon all in Gemini in the 10th zone of Public Face & Reputation. These planets are forming a square aspect to the current Shadow Mercury forcing action and exerting a fair amount of stress and pressure. Pope Benedict was born with Mercury in Pisces and his Ascendent also falls exactly along the part of Shadowlands at 16 degrees of Pisces, birth time accuracy dependant. When it conjuncts his Ascendant, the Pope will become a much more shadowy figure and has already stated that he will play little or no part in the election process for his successor, the result will be indicated by a puff of smoke.
![]() |
| Smoke coming from Sistine Chapel chimney indicates the election of a new Pope. Secret ballots are burnt after each vote, black smoke indicates a failed ballot and two thirds plus one wins. This normally occurs after the death of the pope but Pope Benedict has resigned, a very radical decision for a conservative pope. The Prophecy of the Popes, a list of 112 Latin motto/phrases predicting future popes has Petros as its last entry, if he is elected this will see the end of Rome and the church. Ominously one of the front runners in the 2013 election race for a new pope is a ‘Petros’. Peter Turkson fom Ghana is a moderate candidate, he called for radical economic reforms to deal with the global recession, condemned the ‘idolatry of the market’ and expressed support for the Occupy Wall Street protest movement. He also argues that condoms might be appropriate where one partner is HIV-positive. The new Pope Francis 1st, Jorge Mario Bergoglia from Argentina was announced on the 13th March 2013 Sun in Pisces – The Oceans of Infinity & The Sea of Souls |
Just before the full Retrograde period Mercury has to walk through the Shadowlands. This usually lasts a couple of weeks and is a time when essentially Mercury is ‘not in its right mind’. Mercury can in fact appear to be running at full pelt on some very wobbly terrain. Things may feel quite disconcerting for a while, uncertain, rather like moving forward but also picking a way around broken glass. Part of us instinctively knows that we are going to have to come back to this place in order to clear things up, anyway. In effect the avenues we are hurtling down so fast are littered with material and detritus that, normally fleet of foot Mercury, is missing now. Attention is focused on the distance horizon while the ruts and potholes, signposts, left luggage and lost possessions are being ignored. Remember, these conditions are not for very long and in just a few weeks we will be dragged back to deal with ‘the ignored or overshadowed’. The Shadowlands of Mercury can appear as a strange and disorientating place but one not to be overlooked. These few weeks before the Retrograde the terrain is going to be decidedly shaky and at times literally, in the case of the Korean peninsula.
When North Korea conducted its third nuclear test on the 12th February, 2013 it drew a swift response from US Foreign Policy Advisor and US Ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice, who argued immediately for much toughen sanctions. Susan Rice has Mercury at 13 degrees Sagittarius forming a ‘must take action’ square aspect to Mercury in Pisces. Also her warrior planet, Mars is at 5 degrees Virgo plus her Uranus 14 degrees/ Pluto 16 degree conjunction in Virgo forms a ‘hyper-aware’ opposition to current shadowland Mercury. North Korea’s Midheaven/ public face is at 7 degrees Pisces, a conjunction with the current Shadowland Mercury. Status and reputation literally becoming one and the same with the smoke and mirrors of Mercury Pisces shadowy situation and encapsulates it in a very graphic and literally explosive manner. North Korea’s actions will need a great deal of re-viewing and a lot of clearing up. Since the 1950’s officially the US and South Korea have no peace agreement with North Korea only a ceasefire.
Jupiter in Gemini Unbound – Talking to the Neighbours
Communications are also Mercury ruled and so they could unfortunately be more prone to spluttering or even stuttering to a halt at the wrong moment. Outages, which shut down most things electrical including computers, or damaged phone lines and accidental cuts in pipes, blocked tunnels and criss-crossed grids are all examples of how the normal lines that invisibly interconnect us all so efficiently normally can be effected. Mercury’s shadow can also remind us just how vulnerable and tenuous the bands that tie us together are, they can snap and trigger unexpected consequences, not always for the worse of course, just different and maybe for the better.
What we have to say may just come out garbled or just get plain misconstrued, no matter how eloquently expressed. Oddly one of the most noticeable features will be that we can feel more pressured to meet deadlines at a time when we also feel the least equipped to do so in these hazy Shadowland times. Time may also appear to play tricks on us as it seems to give us the slip if we try to follow it too closely. There may be a trail of white smoke to follow but it may turn out to be equally as elusive and impossible to grasp.
Roads are part of Mercury’s territory, as are market places, trading centres, transit junctions, airports, harbours, bus and rail stations and ports.
A wide brief for sure but there is a thread which links and connects them all and us to them. Without casting a shadow of doom over the next few weeks or paroxysms of anxiety every time we step on a bus or nip out to the shops for some groceries as is often seen in Mercury Retrograde periods, there is perhaps a need to simply inject a note of awareness. We would all be wise to exert levels of restraint in certain situations or just general care and vigilance at some level, for example, assuming or accepting the other guy is just ‘fooling around’ when threatening road rage. A sense of awareness and our inherent intuition provides a full time in-built boost to our levels of security and protection, anyway. Taking a little extra time to re-assess situations of our own accord and before circumstances ‘force our hand’, get taken by ‘sleight-of-hand’ or simply ‘out of our hands’ is a good idea.

| Superstar South African Para & Olympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius known as Blade Runner is charged with the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, she was shot four times, twice in the head. He kept a pistol by his bed and a machine gun at his window. A police spokeswoman said that there had been ‘previously allegations of a domestic nature‘ from Pistorious home and that neighbours heard screaming and shouting during the night before the murder and the police will refuse bail. Pistorius has his Jupiter at 13 degrees Pisces at the heart of the Shadowlands. The Blade Runners – Oscar Pistorius & Richard Whitehead |
That section of our chart where we have 5/19 degrees of Pisces will be a signpost for where we can expect to experience these shadowy smoke trails most acutely and where we should exercise more awareness and caution but equally the same degrees in the signs of Sagittarius, Virgo and Gemini are where things such as communications and paths may also get cloudy and blurred. Sometimes it will feel like you just have to keep going back to the drawing board which is both frustrating and demoralising. Expect to re-view and re-evaluate a lot of things during this period and slowly things will start to make more sense. Expect to feel chased and pressured to fulfil certain deadlines that seem to crowd in on you all at the same time, crunching in on your peace of mind. Pisces rules the feet so we had better be sure of our footing and watch our step, figuratively and literally. During Mercury in Shadowlands passage, Chiron ‘the wounded healer’ also transits these sensitive degrees of Pisces for good measure. Deep old wounds may be re-activated as well as more raw recent pain and hurts inflicted during Chiron time in Pisces.
The best way ahead for us must be to prepare for misunderstandings and double check all forms of communications, interactions and travel arrangements. We can try to be as patient with ourselves and others as possible, give everyone a bit more legroom and time to come up for air. As regards things such as the general on-going delays and frustrations, well here too we must try and be more tolerant and accepting because this too will pass.
Then there are still the things we just can’t control.

| The 66th British Academy Film & Television Arts, the BAFTAS, 10th February, 2013 The BAFTA mask was designed by sculptor Mitizi Cunliffe who is Venus in Aquarius |
After her deliberate and cautious trek across the mountainous earthy terrain of Capricorn, from the 3rd February 2013 with a yawn, Venus moved into the light and fluffy clouds of the Air sign Aquarius. All the while she will be alert for new sources of stimulation and enchantment wanting to spend her time socialising and disarming. She will project her open, tolerant, unconventional, friendly image and impress whoever she meets and greets until the 26th of February, 2013 when she gets much more mysterious and emotional in watery Pisces.

| Skyfall has 8 BAFTA nominations, its James Bond Actor Daniel Craig is Venus in Aquarius |
Venus always loves to indulge, feeding the body, anointing it, making it look, smell and feel really lovely. Venus cannot help herself because that is what she is all about Venus Come Out Of Your Shell. There are other things she loves, such as beauty in all it’s forms, an appreciation of the finer things in life like the arts, culture and social bonds.
Fashion Icon Kate Moss has Venus in Aquarius here she is in Hologram form. Venus in the air!
With Venus in Aquarius part of life’s great pageant can be a string of such magical occasions. Money and fairness are also part of the Venus makeup which should give us a clue just how fundamental and central Venus is to our lives. There is also the small matter of the heart, l’amour, amore, of course Venus just adores the romance although she can give over a little Aquarian detachment. Yet Love and Money are the two basic ingredients that most people need to blend in order to feel that they have a good handle on life, even an independent, aloof Venus in Aquarius.

| 2013 BAFTA Fellowship award winner Director Alan Parker is Venus in Aquarius |
Venus has been rather solemn and serious recently. She has been using a restrained and mature mindset to get what she wants whilst deliberating in Capricorn. For the past month we have got used to this way of being, making sure that we attend to our long range goals and keeping our eyes on the task at hand whilst still trying to be helpful to those we love. Now we have Venus in Aquarius running the show and her word of advice, as social secretary, is to lean towards the quirky and the weird and wonderful. Embrace the odd, the misfit and the under represented.
If you want to attract, look like you want to join in and be one of the gang but also be prepared to be different because Aquarius simply loves the bizarre. It is impressed by concepts and ideals and loves a grand vision but most importantly it wants fairness. For Venus in Aquarius being true to your inner light and holding on tightly to what you believe is the right thing is paramount. No matter if you alienate or aggravate those who disagree just as long as you have a few close friends of like-minded people and you are being true to yourself then its all cool. Oh and also be prepared to join in the party, have a party, fancy dress, don a mask and ride along with the carnival.

Aquarius wants us to apply our attention to our principles and to what we believe. With Venus the goddess of Love here for a while she will urge us to sample the delights of universal vision, of giving our attention to the many and of following our inner star, no matter how distant or faint. She will want us to wake up to what both separates and adheres us as human beings living together on the same planet. She will want to explore the new and fantastic ‘out there’ possibilities that may literally be ‘out there’. We have new worlds both inner and outer to explore or put under the microscope, view through a telescope and observe with fascination. Stop all that past Capricorn earnest devotion to ‘the real’ the real point is lets have fun with exploring the unknown.
We will all have a month where our relationships may get a bit more ‘off the wall’ but happily, pleasantly, tolerant. It will become that much more important to relate with an openness and an acceptance of difference. To allow the ‘odd’ to live with the ‘normal’, to include and respect all manifestations of life no matter how weird or out of the ordinary they may initially appear, anyway lets be extra-ordinary.

Before we get too carried away with the openness and acceptance it may also be the case that we can also get much more awkward, opinionated, and willful with Aquarius, it is a fixed sign after all. Carnival time is when we can merge with the crowd while still wearing a mask or costume to perhaps to protect a full, true exposure of the self sometimes. During this Venus in Aquarius month we all may feel that much safer hiding in a crowd or we may feel that much stronger being part of one. Whatever we choose to do we will want everyone to feel supported in their independence. We all want to feel special within the mass, we are part of the collective but unique in our true expression.
