Phew! as Britain boiled and baked on its hottest day of the year, the Duchess of Cambridge finally released her little bun out of the Royal oven giving birth to a baby boy at 16.24 pm in the private Lindo Wing, St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, West London.

On June 21st 2013 the Sun traveller moved country, this time it gently swam the breaststroke, gliding through the water sign of Cancer. It felt good to ease and feel our way through, to suss out and pick up on things that at first glance appeared to appear as inconsequential. We received and tuned into to all manner of messages, as more often than not we ‘got it’ as we subtly navigated our way through the shallows and the depths and the rise and fall of our warmer (Northern Hemisphere) days and nights. Mercury in Cancer – Postcards From The Waters Edge

Whilst we will all feel this change, this mental shift, how will it affect us specifically? The sign of Cancer sits somewhere in our birth chart, even if we do not have any planets in this sign. We will always have Cancerian County somewhere in our psyche. It is this Cancer zone which has Mercury as a house guest. This is where we will have to be more accommodating, where we have to to shake out the duvet and put out some fresh flowers to make this energy welcome and feel at home so it can do what it needs to do whilst tending to matters close to heart. It may even have bouts of homesickness as it yearns for communion and grieves separation from something.

If you know where your ‘Cancerian Reef’ is then be prepared for things to be inside out and outside in. It is here that you may be trying to exercise intuition and sensitivity. Take your time and respect the issues affected in this part of your chart. For instance, Cancer may be in your 2nd house of ‘Money & Resources’, Mercury here will probably prompt you to think about and plan changes which impact your bank balance. Or if Cancer covers your 7th house or zone of ‘Partnerships’ your plans could be in for a major overhaul concerning your significant other(s), contracts/partnerships/the public. Making the adjustments will now tend to go more smoothly. During that time it felt good to change and experiment, to try stuff out and decrease all the previous attachment in Taurus. We all had a chance to try and stretch out into our minds, move on the wind and surrender to our whims. After all, how can we really know something until we try it, until we take a taste and nibble at the edges of the unknown before alighting once again onto the next attention-grabbing interest? Ah! Variety, it is so fascinating.

The one and only was less of an option, more like the many and the multiple. This would have been most welcome after the all the deliberations and contemplations of the Sun traveller’s environment in Taurus, as we changed to adopt a more inquisitive and flexible eye upon what was, or apparently was, in front of us. Things may not have seemed quite as solid, dependable or convicted as they were during the Taurus month, and our curiosity was peaked and we wanted to break out of certainty and move into the less substantial, after all we needed to be light to fly and flitting off would have seemed mightily attractive. We would have been less inclined to be weighted or burdened down, wanting to be ready at a moments notice to shift and move.
